This car is great! It is ultra quiet. The car has a very smooth ride. I was planning on buying a bmw x5. After I test drove this car. I went back to test drive it again. I decided to buy it. I have no regrets about it. The car has been great on gas mileage. The seats are very comfortable. This car has so many options available. My only problem is dealing with the dealer. I feel that the sales people were not throughly trained on every aspect of this vehicle. I would definitly recommend this vehicle 100 times over!

MURANO IS A TOP CHOICE AMONG SUVS

I HAVE OWNED MY MURANO FOR FIVE MONTHS NOW, AND I'M VERY PLEASED WITH THE OVER- ALL PERFORMANCE OF THIS VEHICLE. IT'S FUN TO DRIVE AND GREAT TO LOOK AT BOTH INSIDE AND OUT. I WISH THE ENGINE COULD BE MORE QUITE ON UPHILL WHEN ACCELERATING. I HAVE ALSO NOTICED OCCASSIONALLY A SLIGHT RATTLING NOISE FROM DRIVER-SIDE DOOR PANEL AND ABOVE THE GLOVE BOX AT HIGH SPEED IF THE ROAD A LITTLE BUMPY . WILL BRING BACK TO DEALER TO CHECK IT OUT. DESPITE THESE MINOR ISSUES, IT'S A SUV DESERVES HIGH MARKS.

I have been looking to trade in my XTerra for a softer ride.....test drove many cars in the procces, all of which fell in the $30-36k price range, wanted to keep it fair.....the Murano out did all of them, even the Acura MDX, and the BMW 325xi.....its worth paying the 2-3k dealers want over sticker....but shop around, i managed 2 get mine at sticker, fully loaded.

The Murano is so much fun to drive. The CVT really allows the car to fly up hills. Mine is loaded and am having fun figuring out all the bells and whistles.I especially like the positive feedback from other drivers. The design is so unique. Not like every other little boxy SUV. Nissan certainly has a winner with the Murano.

CVT Issues

We bought our Murano less than a year ago at 58k miles. Was looking forward to owning a Murano since they came out in 2003 and prices finally came down to where we could afford one. Well much to our surprise at 65k miles the engine starts to run at 4000 rpm going down the highway one long trip and we literally feel the vehicle losing power and jumping forward. We end up turning around on the highway in the median then can't move at all. COMPLETELY LOST POWER WITH THE GAS PEDAL TO THE FLOOR!!! Thought we were going to be stranded on the highway! Turn engine off/on and it goes by golly. Took it back to dealer and found the transmission had to be replaced, metal in pan. CVT has issues.

I looked at virtually every SUV on the market and this one is the best combination of style and performance I found. It came down to a Honda Pilot (a wonderful SUV) and the Murano and while both offer substance, the Murano had style. It is comfortable, powerful, and in the SE trim eats up corners and handles nimbly around town. The price is also very reasonable considering all of the features and options.

I love my Nissan Murano but we have been having some reliability issues. The car was shooting out smoke when I started it. I took it into my stone age dealer, terrible service, and they said it had a sludge problem. Of course they said it was my fault even though I change my oil all the time. Anyways I went to another dealer and they were great, they covered everything. The reason I took it to them was because the car would start making a funny noise when I let my foot off the gas, it sounded like a lawnmower. They said the transmission was going out. Anyways I love everything else about the SUV.

We traded our 2002 Altima V-6 for the Murano (black) and haven't regretted it since. This SUV lives up to its billing. Gas mileage is good considering all the other SUV mpg's but not up to specs. It has power as well. The transmission is awesome (so smooth!!!)I am still exploring all the gadgets. (We purchased everything we could for this car: Leather pkg, sunroof, cargo cover and mat, etc...) rear seats recline (cool)then fold flat for cargo space.

We bought our Murano 2 weeks ago and we love it! We had a 2001 Maxima that we really enjoyed, but this is even more fun. The ride is smoother and the engine has more pep. We love the leather interior and the placement of the radio/climate controls closer to the driver. The interior is very roomy and feels bigger than it looks from the outside. The adjustable back seats are also a plus. All around it is a great SUV/car!

This vehicle is incredible. It drives very similarly to a BMW X5. The quality is there. The ride is firm but comfortable and definitely handles very well for a SUV. It drives like a car. I get a thumbs up wherever I drive. The CVT transmission is great. One does get used to it fairly quickly. You never feel any gears changing or jerking like a normal transmission would. I think anyone who gets this vehicle would be very content. I am very impressed with Nissan.

Without a doubt, the best car I've ever owned! Stylish looks, comfortable interior, killer Bose sound, sharp handling, rock solid construction and responsive pickup are a few of the many features I enjoy. I'm not sure what all the fuss is about the CVT as I've noticed no lack of power at any time, but then I'm not a speed demon. The ride in the back is roomy and comfortable and I get tons of compliments wherever I go. Closely styled like the Lexus RX 350 but a lot less $$.

When shopping for a new "ride" we happened upon the Murano. Talk about an eye catching magnet. After test driving the Murano, well the rest is history as it now has 12,000 miles on it after a little over 8 months. I love my Rono and my kids do as well. My son is in parent taught driving lessons therefore he gets to experience the handling of it as well and says Mom, this car (drive one and you will see why we call it a car) is awesome!!!! In driving home from the dealer I found on my way from the dealer the stability of handling was alot safer feeling. I love this SUV

Drives wonderfully but there are a few annoyances: a rattle in the backseat somewhere that the dealership is having a hard time pinpointing--have had to take it 4 times and it's still not fixed; headlights look like they stairstep up to the right, as if they were stalled unevenly, but the dealership says they are all like that?; also, brakes squeal when putting the car into reverse, and again, the dealership claimed to have fixed the problem by cleaning off "the glaze" but the problem has not gone away.

Was looking at an Explorer or a Honda CRV. Found the space and fun to drive in the Murano. Great highway handling with plenty of power and breaks makes my 42-mile drive each way to work is pleasure. Programming my garage door into the rear view mirror is a great feature. Cool gadgets and room for the kids, all in one vehicle. Was expecting better gas mileage (now getting 22 hwy / sticker is 25hwy). Overall very impressed with my first new Nissan. Used Costco membership on line and saved a lot!

An admitted Nissan devotee, the Murano has exceeded my expectations in all regards. As can be seen at freshalloy.com and nissanmurano.org, most new owners are extremely pleased and excited about the MO. The CVT coupled with the hp make for an outstanding level of performance for a vehicle of this type. With only a couple of minor exceptions (eg. sun visors), both the build quality and quality of materials appear to be typically Nissan -- excellent. If you're unsure about whether or not the exterior styling is "in" or not, just check out the photos of the new BMW X3. If that isn't a copy of the MO, I don't know what is.

its a fun drive, safe, fast, great interior layout.bags of room in back for people and their stuff. perfomance and the abilty to stop faster than anything in its price range. drive it against the competion and see for yourself. it;s also extreemly stable on the rd. the balance of the car is exceptional for an suv. my other car is a Jag which has low centre of gravity and so having beenm acoustomed to that many suv';s were plain "boaty" in their drive. all the fun of a car in an suv and much more...

How can you compare this vehicle to anything else? Well you can't! Nothing even comes close to what the Murano offers. If you love driving cars or spend a lot of time driving, then the Murano is a top choice. I compared over 20 different vehicles from Audi's to Volvo's including 4 door wagons, sedans and SUV's (sorry no vans!). Nothing will give you a better all around package that will satisfy 99% of your wants and needs for the way the average vehicle is used 99% of the time. Great looks, space, performance, exceptional comfort and fantastic design with amazing attention to detail. Take a look and be prepared to be surprised.

Great looks, great ride, extraordinary CVT transmission. This is a drivers SUV, the first one I have ever driven, you can take a corner like a sports sedan without being pushed tward the outside door. Quality and refinedment inside the vehicle is top notch leather or cloth. But the real plus here is the transmission. The CVT is incredable, so smooth and powerful. The transmission does all the work so the engine never revs hard resulting in an overall quiet ride. The Murano is very functional with a ton of room inside. To sum it up the Murano is fast and functional for an SUV. Rather than being half car half truck IT IS HALF CAR HALF SUV.

No one who owns this vehicle would give it less than an eight on a scale of one to ten. Compared to others in its class the design and technology of the Murano surpasses them all. Nissan has done their research and designed a reliable "crossover" vehicle for those of us who enjoy spending time in the outdoors, not driving all over it. The ride and handling of the SL is great -- like a car. Mileage has been at about 20 around town and about 24 highway. Not bad for such a roomy, powerful and solidly built vehicle. TEST DRIVE THE MURANO, then BUY IT! Yeah it isn't cheap, but you get what you pay for.

When we bought it, there was truly nothing like it on the market... CVT tranny, 18" wheels. It is a blast to drive and extremely practical. Drives and handles like a powerful sports sedan but sits you up higher and more comfortably more like a SUV or mini van. (But this for sure ain't no mini van...) We still get tons of compliments on it and it almost two years old. This is a real machine.

Blown Engine at 3700 miles!!

Took the vehicle in for the first oil change at about 3700 miles and left dealer 40 minutes later. Drove about 5 miles and had the engine blow up. About a week later, a brand new engine was installed and found out that a connecting rod had come loose, gone through the oil pan and caused all engine oil to leak out, causing the engine to seize up and blowing a hole in the engine block. Had to argue with the dealer just to get a loaner car while the vehicle was in the shop. I was told Nissan does not give out loaner cars, but eventually one was given to me to drive for 11 days. The dealer was Rosenthal Nissan in Tysons Corner, VA.

Oh my god.... i am so glad nissan came out with such a great car the interior looks are ten billion times more attractive then the honda pilot and the toyota highlander, the drive is awesome drives just like the bmw x5 which i test drove before i both the murano, and best of all it comes with 18 inch wheels which makes it look better instead of those small overused 16 inch wheels.
