I've had my Murano for 4 days now, and I am nothing but impressed. Coming from an 01 Explorer Sport to this is like wearing an Armani suit as compared to someone else's old underwear. It is quite literally a luxury SUV for the price of a loaded compact.

My face is getting sore from all the smiling I do when I see/get into/drive my Murano. The vehicle is amazing. It is powerful, stylish, luxurious, and it has everything I wanted on it. Waited a month to get it. Actually shocked that I got so much car for this price. Truly the nicest vehicle I have ever owned and a pleasure to drive. My driving experience is pleasurable again. Cought myself praying for traffic the other day so I could spend more time in it...

Nice looking car but has lots of issues. Had to replace altenator at 6,000 miles (a common problem). After getting locked-out numerous times, dealer replaced door harness. Open sunroof makes unbearble interior noise. Currently heat is not adequate and bringing it back to dealer. Goto NissanMurano.org for more info./complaints.

I originally went into the Nissan dealer to purchase a 350Z Track. There infront of me was a Murano. This is one of the best SUV/Cars Ive ever driven. Now its not a 350Z Track but it is more practical. You have to expereice this car/SUV to appriciate it. Its amazing reading some of the other comments some people made on this sight. I can imagine some of the negative comments were made by 16 year olds and or people that have never driven this car/SUV. Thats ok I put my money where my mouth is.

THE SUV IS AWESOME, THE ALARM WENT OFF FOR THE TIRE PRESSURE AND I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER RIGHT AWAY TO KNOW THERE WAS A SCREW IN MY TIRE. AS WITH OTHER CARS I WOULD HAVE NEVER KNOWN AND GOT A FLAT AND BEEN STUCK! BUT THEN AGAIN NISSAN ALWAYS BUILDS A GREAT CAR FOR YOUR MONEY.

There is not one thing I would change on this vehicle. I just wished I had gotten the AWD, but it wasn't available in the color I wanted when I went to the dealership. I buy a new vehicle every 2 years and I did thorough research and test drove 4 different SUVS, and clearly made the right decision and I say that 14,000 miles later.

Murano is the best crossover SUV

I need good gas mileage, reliability, functionality, and the ability to tow about 2000 lbs worth of trailer. The contenders were the Toyota Highlander (out because you can only get a light colored leather interior) the Toyota 4 Runner (incredible vehicle but out because of poor gas mileage) Honda Pilot (out because of lack of decent options (no heated seats, no sunroof, cheap looking leather interior). I also drove all the GM products and couldn't get over the poor reliability issues for about the same out the door price. The Murano wins based on my criteria and is really fun to drive. Much more like a sports sedan than an SUV.

We bought our 2003 Murano AWD because it lookes great and we had liked our Maxima. What a mistake - luckily we negotiated a free extended warranty into our deal besause: the motor mounts failed at 35K, the mount control sensor failed as well,TWO different oxygen sensors failed at different times leaving my wife and children stranded, the front strut bearings failed at 60k, the rear lift latch failed at 61K, wiring leading to the mass air flow sensor failed, causing the sensor to also fail - leaving us stranded AGAIN,even the sunshades needed to be replaced as the spring tensioner failed. The total cost of these repairs would have been over $5500 if I had to pay for them!I wont buy another!

COMPARING THE MURANO TO THE TOYOTA HIGHLANDER IS A JOKE. NOW, KNOWING THAT THE HIGHLANDER IS STEP-BROTHER TO THE LEXUS RX300 (RX330), I THINK IT IS MORE ACCURATE TO COMPARE THESE TWO UNITS. BUT TALK ABOUT BANG-FOR-YOUR- BUCK! THE MURANO ROCKS! ABSOLUTELY FUN TO DRIVE, GREAT HANDLING, GREAT ACCELERATION, STYLING IS THE BEST OUT THERE. A GREAT BUY IN MY OPINION.

I've had this vehicle for 8 months now (~7200 miles) and have experienced no problems. Fun to drive, the back seats are very roomy and the passengers love the recline option. Sound system is top notch (Bose), although the reception could be better ('94 Taurus got better reception in the same areas) - probably a result of the stubby antenna. Nice acceleration, smooth ride. With half city/half highway, I have been averaging 18.6 mpg. I have the FWD (not AWD) and didn't notice any major difficulties navigating through the snowy Chicago streets the past winter. I hope this review helps anyone thinking of buying a Murano.

Still drives and rides like a SUV. Needs a better dynamic stability control system. Cheap looking instrumentation panel. No day time running light. Need to lose that chrome grill. The vehicle has a cover underneth, which makes it more difficult to change oil yourself and more costly to get it done at a shop. Obviously Nissan wants us to pay premium for routine maintenance and thinks we are stupid because we don't know "total-ownership- cost". Self-serving companies such as Nissan don't deserve to be around. This will likely be my last Nissan. What a mistake for buying this piece of junk.

Paint Problems

My Nissan is Glacier Pearl Whilte. It has been hit twice in the last 3 months and no body shop can correctly match the paint (painted 4 times now)! Even though the Paint Code is on the vehicle there are 6 variations of the color and then the color must be custom blended. Even on the parts that were not damaged there is factory color variation. This makes it next to IMPOSSIBLE to match the paint to the existing body parts! Gas milage is NOT 20/24 it's usually 16/20. Fuel sensor is defective occasionaly lights up and says it's out of gas when it is not.

Since the day I drove off the dealer lot I have had a constant problem with the windows making a snapping-like sound regardless if the windows are up or down. I took it back in about a week after I leased it, told the service shop about the problem with the window noise and they said they didnt hear it. I mention this all the time I take it in for it's maintenance schedule and no one seems to be able to "duplicate" the noise. Other people have heard it when they ride with me but I'm sorry, the Nissan service shops are either avoiding the problem or are deaf. I expected this SUV to be somewhat quality-built, but with the window problem I'm not impressed with Nissan.

Want smooth performance and excellent seating for 2. This delivers all and more for the price. Glad someone got it right. Wont drive it off road either that what I hve my truck for so back off on off road ability. This will go anywhere I want to do.

This SUV deserves a perfect rating with the exception that the style is either loved or hated by onlookers. But once you have a chance to drive one of these, all doubts about its looks are out the window. Its performance, comfort handling and power are so exceptional that this car deserves to stand out aesthetically. It pioneered the era of the crossover SUV. It handles better than my VW Passat and my Mazda Miata.

We've had our Murano for just a week now and our absolutely loving it. The ride is smooth and car-like. The CVT transmission is awesome...still getting used to not feeling the shifting. We used our Murano to pick up a piece of furniture the first day and found the seats very easy to fold flat, and the cargo area spacious. We also considered the Highlander, the Pilot, the Pathfinder and the Sorrento. After seeing and then driving the Murano, though, the decision was easy. This is the SUV to buy if you want to turn some heads!

if the fuel economy was as good as advertised, this car would be as close to perfect as i've seen. i drive a new rental car every week and by week's end, I am looking forward to driving my Murano. It is fast, smooth, & feels quite luxious on the inside. not to mention its good looks. my only complaint is the fuel ecomony. it advertises 20 to 24 MPG. I never expected to get 24, however, i was hoping it would be closer to 20. my results are closer to 17.

The car is easy to get in and out, especially important for older people with health problems.

We had just purchased our AWD SL Murano during the Presidents Day Weekend. That Monday we picked it up and my wife used it that evening to go to work. We had a relatively large snow storm. It was the vehicles first test for us. We owned an Explorer prior to getting the Murano, so we expected a certain amount of AWD performance. When my wife arrived home that evening from work, she was just elated how well it handled in the snow. She said it cut through the unplowed streets like butter. The ride is so car- like versus the ride we had in the explorer. We love, not to mention the head turns we get when we drive it around.

It has been an absolute pleasure driving my Nissan Murano for the past 3+ years. From the outside, it looks great and I never tire of admiring it as I cross a parking lot to get in. From the driver's seat, the inside looks great, too, but more importantly is very comfortable in all respects. The dash is well laid out and easy to read, day or night. Lots of storage compartments, in all sizes. And when I turn the key and drive, the best part of owning a Murano occurs. It is fun to drive. Handles well, both in accelerating and stopping. Runs very quietly and drives a straight line effortlessly. I enjoy every minute. Only routine service needed in 3+ years. Best car I've ever owned.

It has head-turning good looks ... all positive I might add. The interior is spacious, extremely functional, well- constructed, and has a awesome high- tech ambiance. And the seats ... well they are about the best I've seen. Very, very comfortable. As for the mechancials ... it takes a llittle while to get accusotmed to the CVT tranny but it is sooooooooooooo smooth. And it's clearly evident that there are 245 ponies under the hold pulling their own ... this things flat- out screams. I think the Jan article in a major car magazine called it the "Z of SUVs" ... and that is soooooooooooo true.

If you are thinking of a SUV/Van

I needed a bigger car that is more versitile than a sedan. I have a child with plans for at least another and need more trunk/room. The Nissan Murano drove like a Maxima SUV, very car like with the versatility of a SUV / Van for space and storage. The gas mileage is equivalant to that of a van. It is Japanese, with one of the best V6 engines. I looked at a few vans and the only ones worth considering were japanese and were roughly the same price as the Murano. I think for the price and all the features you get standard if you are looking for a sedan / SUV / Van the Murano has something to offer everyone!

I bought this magnificent machine "love at first sight". No need for leather, the material is like no other, more of suede feel than anything else. The standard features surpass Lexus and BMW as far as interior comfort, design, and hands on instrumentation. 4-foot daughter to my 6.5-foot son to my full- grown lab, there’s room galore. Exterior, it's like no other. It own’s the niche between luxury SUV design and ultra sport sedan, revolutionizing this market class. Lastly, who ever heard of an SUV doing 7 sec. 0-60 times, still getting 21-avg. mpg, oh yeah, all under $30K. Me that's who, see ya!

I have had my Murano SE AWD with Navi for about 6 weeks and it is wonderful. Luxurious interior, sporty exterior and fun to drive. I have had no problems and only happiness. I love the number of luxury features it has (HID lights, personalized seat position, traction/stability control, tire pressure monitoring, steering wheel controls, direct position sunroof). I could go on and on but there are enough reviews here already. If you are looking for a Crossover vehicle you need to check the Murano out.

With a quality equal or superior to SUV's that cost thousands of dollars more, this one of kind vehicle is definately a best buy. Great package includes unique styling, awsome powertrain and comfortable interior. Nissan/Infiniti is building some of the best looking vehicles on the road today and have shown that a SUV doesn't have to be some square box with a hard ride.

Drives wonderfully but there are a few annoyances: a rattle in the backseat somewhere that the dealership is having a hard time pinpointing--have had to take it 4 times and it's still not fixed; headlights look like they stairstep up to the right, as if they were stalled unevenly, but the dealership says they are all like that?; also, brakes squeal when putting the car into reverse, and again, the dealership claimed to have fixed the problem by cleaning off "the glaze" but the problem has not gone away.

Was looking at an Explorer or a Honda CRV. Found the space and fun to drive in the Murano. Great highway handling with plenty of power and breaks makes my 42-mile drive each way to work is pleasure. Programming my garage door into the rear view mirror is a great feature. Cool gadgets and room for the kids, all in one vehicle. Was expecting better gas mileage (now getting 22 hwy / sticker is 25hwy). Overall very impressed with my first new Nissan. Used Costco membership on line and saved a lot!

The interior is quiet and well designed. The Bose audio system sounds great. If you are on the road putting 200+ miles a day under your belt this the confotable SUV for you. This is one of the best SUV's ever, my sister and brother own them as well, and we all love the Murano.
