We have about 2000 miles on our Murano and absolutely love it! It turns a lot of heads, but its beauty is more than skin deep. The engine is quiet and powerful, the transmission is great and the gas mileage isn't bad for an AWD vehicle this size. (Gets 24 mpg on highway as advertised)Test drove the Toyota Highlander, but this vehicle outscores the Toyota in every category.

Love the Murano, style, performance is great. Mileage is a little less than I expected, although I have gotten 21 mpg at times. Biggest gripe is that is easy to lock yourself out, especially with the key in the ignition, and, even with the engine running.I find I have to leave the window open or not close the door if I want to step out for a moment. I believe the unlock mechanism above the door handle does not open al the way and is easily partially closed when opening the door from inside.

This is a "homerun" of a vehicle! Strong power, great stereo system, nav system very precise, seats very comfortable, easy to program and drive. I've driven a BMW 740iL for the last 3 years and while I do miss the power of 8 cylinders, this "machine" is great. The BMW X5 would have cost me nearly $12,000 more and I would have still had manual transmission at that! Way to go, Nissan!

So Far, So Good

Purchased new SL 2WD 3 weeks ago, $300 over invoice. So far been an excellent experience. Design and ride are great. Fuel economy seems to be improving (after bad start), on 3rd tank, up to 21mpg, but since mostly highway, should be better. Haven't found many disappointments, its a great vehicle. One complaint is that it does still have a trucklike/SUV ride when cornering (but this is my first SUV after 10 years w a sports car), SE may be tighter suspension. Overall would recommend to any new crossover buyer.

Overall, great SUV. And priced right. The fuel economy has actually improved since I purchased it in March '03. The roominess and ease of adjusting rear seats are great as well. I think the auto adjusting driver's seat is un- needed (I couldn't have that removed at the dealership - it was on all autos) and the fact that you can't get heated seats by themselves are both bummers, but I'm still very pleased with the purchase.

This Nissan is tops in quality inside and out. The performance ranks high with its new transmission and car like handling. Passengers of all sizes will appreciate its room and comfort. We compared a lot of SUV's and the Nissan Murano bested them all.

We ordered a Murano last Thanksgiving and got it earlier this year. It was worth the wait. It's a nice balance between utility, performance, and style. Has the utility to haul kids and dogs, performance to make you smile and style that'll have folks asking you about it. I haven't taken the car to its limits yet, but for everyday driving it's great. One thing I've noticed is that to get optimum performance from the CVT you have to be pretty generous on the accel pedal. I.e. punch it if you wanna go fast.

Purchased a Murano SE 2 weeks ago and Edmunds.com helped so much in our research...thank you! First made a list of what we needed, the plushness of the Murano was a plus. Graduating from a van we test drove (that I recall) Pilot, CRV, Rav, and Pathfinder and inspected many others. Focused on the Pilot then we drove the Murano and fell in love with fully loaded SE (didn't want DVD or GIS). Pricing (asked to see dealers invoice), mpg, safety & smooth/solid ride of this dream contributed to our purchase decision. It's smooth rounded exterior is a pleasure to run a shammy over, no crevices for grit to settle in.

Excellent vehicle. Drives very car- like with great handling and performance. The features include things that most other similar vehicles don't offer such as stability and traction control. The gas mileage seems better than most SUV's with around 20 combined highway/city. No problems, noises, or rattles, as some have reported.

I've had my eye on the Murano since before it was evben released. I was looking for a car that had the room of an SUV, the performance of a sports sedan, and the comfort of a luxury sedan....and it had to be dog friendly (for my 80lb. lab mix). I found all of that, and more, in the Murano. Go test drive every SUV out there....then drive the Murano. My bet is that you'll buy the Murano. I've owned a '00 Maxima SE and a '98 I30....the Muron drives better than both of them.

This car is a wonderful car. Compaired to all the other cars in its class, the Murano has all the added features to a car in its standard model that one could get if they were to upgrade another car, S.U.V. or truck. The standard features on this car is more than enough for me. However if you would like to really be spoiled than you could spend the extra money and really live it up. The handling of this car is just as great. As well as the pick up this vehicle delivers. All in all, the Murano is a very nice car and I have no regrets about buying one.

I drove it and had to have it. Bot back in January and between all the creature comforts and stylish looks its hard to beat. NAV is fun and has gotten me out of a jam a couple times. Drove from Colorado to Florida and back and was very comfortable. Noisy with back windows down, the rattle. Got home from FL with a TRANSMISSION LEAK..dealer doesn't know how to fix GREAT.. now what?

I have driven every SUV there is. The MDX, RX 300, Mercedes, BMW etc...I just turned in my 2000 pathfinder. I have chosen this for its price and sporty feel. I wanted a car/suv and this fit the picture. I drove the SE and it was alot tighter and bumpier than the SL. The AWD and the 2WD drove the same, not much different in handling. The dash looks a little mini van like and the style sort of resembles a raised Pt Cruiser. But overall the inside is awsomely futuristic and I love the Chrome accents on the outside of the car. The 18" wheels are cool as heck! This car has the most features for the buck. Worth looking into.

I've only had my MO for 2 weeks now, but I just love it! I'd researched this vehicle and knew more about it when it hit limited prod than any salesperson at the dealerships. The car is FUN-FUN-FUN to drive, has the get-up-and-go you need in those "special situations," has a smooth and comfortable ride. This is a great vehicle; I'm hoping it's as reliable and long-living as my other Nissan which has 222K miles on it and is still running like a champ. It's a little pricier than I think it should be but if you can go thru something like the Costco Auto Sales program, you can save some serious $$$.

Shopped Honda Pilot and Toyota Highlander before purchasing Murano. The test drive won me over. If your looking for the same old, same old then stick with Honda and Toyota. If your looking for a new stylish design with all the right eronomics, this is the vehicle. Built on the Altima platform, plenty of safety features.

i used to rent a volvo 2000 s80, it's 15000$ higher priced than the murano i rented next. the murano gave me a much better feel of the road, and has brakes control and stability control, which were not in the s80. plus for our canadian winter it is a 4wd. only a little less acceleration and a little more fuel conaommation. the volvo had good seats, so does the murano. all in all, for 15000$ (canadian) less it is a very good deal. thanks nissan

I have bought this car on a moment's decision because I liked the styling when I've first saw it on the street. Then I test drove it and I really enjoyed the transmission. I previously had only 5 spd manual cars and I never thought of buying an automatic. But this transmission is better even than a manual. I have now 2000km on it and loved every minute driving it.

Well, its a great substitute for a station wagon. The CVT takes some getting use to. It's a lot peppier in Ds mode. Although, I'd rather have a regular automatic and more road feel. Fits in parking spaces, carries people, has so-so styling and the dealers are a mixed bag. I don't know, I get the feeling they could have done better.

I'm loving my new Murano. It's Black and Black. I've never liked a "thing" so much. It's still new to me, only 500 total miles, mostly city. My gas mileage isn't so good but I'm hoping it gets better. Does one have to use Premium for best mileage? Still learning about all the extras... I bought this car over the Highlander and Pilot because I love its power and STYLE. I couldn't be happier. I almost feel guilty. Love the Car the Dealership (Sterling McCall - Stafford (Houston)) and my Salesman, Jerimiah, and the service.

All we wanted to do on New Years Eve was see the Murano up close and see what it had to offer. The dealer drove one out from the back lot, Pewter with a loud "orange" interior. It looked like a concept car put into production. We looked at the Saturn Vue the day before, granted different price ranges, but the Murano was tough to walk away from. Drove it home that night!

I test drove virtually every possible performance wagon, crossover, and suv on the market today. All of them had something going for them but the best compromise for the money was the Murano ( bar none). I knew when I test drove it that I had finally found a perfect blend of performance, comfort, practicality, mileage, safety, and affordability. Very nice ride, super comfy seats, nice styling, smooth powerful engine. Mileage has been ~20mpg during the break-in period in very cold weather.

The "cross-over" height is just right. I have arthritis and it is so easy for me to slide in and out of the driver seat. I took it on a 7 hour trip after I purchased it. I was comfortable all the way. This is the best vehicle I have ever driven. It is a smooth, quiet ride. (I only have 1700 miles on it) The size is not much larger than the Honda LX sedan I drove which was too low to the ground for me. It parks easily in the garage; it turns easily. All in all I rate it excellent even though I just bought it! Ramy at Power Nissan in Laguna Niguel gives great service!

The car has been a real pleasure in every aspect but one. The actual gas mileage is way below the epa estimate. According to Nissan's web site in January, if you got the Dynamic Control Package, your gas mileage estimate would be 23 city and 28 highway. The best we've managed is 18 city and 22 hwy. Gas mileage aside, the car is comfortble, roomy and a joy to drive.
