I purchased a 2011 Maxima paid 42,000 dollars said to myself I am going to follow the warranty maintenance so it would last me a lifetime I have had nothing but problems with this car in 6 years. So far I purchased 3 batteries had the sway bar replaced, Idle sensor, the spring broke in half the service manager said I have never seen this before struts, lower control arm front windshield cracked in half my first year of having the car had the brakes replace every year the car has been terrible suspension had the car aligned 6 times the sad part is it only has 60.000 miles. Our best Maxima ever!
Just this week bought our 4th Maxima (2011). This 2011 Maxima is by far the best auto that we have owned. The car drives great and the ride is very comfortable.
What a waste!!!
I have a 2011 Nissan Maxima which I bought brand new in November 2010. The CVT transmission shut down while driving! The car has only 53,146 miles and no other mechanical problems. I found out Nissan extended warranties on 2007-2010 select vehicles including the Maxima due to CVT transmission problems. My car was towed to Nissan early Monday morning. I was given a toll free number to corporate office for possible assistance on Tuesday and they kept my car through Friday before coming back to tell me they would not be assisting me. I asked what criteria was used to make that determination. The agent stated the same info I had given them on Tuesday morning, i.e., how many miles are on the vehicle, the warranty, etc. They had no intention of assisting. What a waste! It is all about the dollar. The car is cosmetic, just looks good, that's it! She said it was 15 months outside of warranty when in fact I bought an extended 6 year/100000 mile warranty from Nissan when I bought the car. The warranty expired 3 months ago in November 2016. They stated they did not see the warranty in their system and it must have been an outside warranty sold to me by Nissan. All CVT transmission cars should be recalled. It is like a ticking time bomb. They are waiting for something drastic to happen before being forced to recall. What a waste!
