don't buy if you haven't
I bought this car over the lexus and geniness because I liked the looks of it, well the car runs rough to say the least It started off making a flapping sound when I first started it at about 20 miles p/hr. then after a while it added the sound of something braking free to engage.I finally took it to the dealer and they didn't know what to make of it finally they told me they think it's the alternator they will start by replacing that and work form there. For the money I paid and the problems I'm having with it I would not recommend to anyone to buy it. my car only has 3000 miles on it. I wish I would have bought that Lexus. for peace.
Bought 09 on 7/19/20, head gasket went on drive ho
Purchased 2009 Nissan Maxima on 7/19/20 and on my way home it broke down. Found out at least head gasket went. Mechanic said engine is trash. He didn’t want to do anything with it, considering it had 169k miles. I just spent $4800 cash money and I need a new engine. JC. So found a new engine through friend of friend and including install is $1200. This new engine has 90k on. I pray it all works out. The carfax checked out, the title was not restored/salvage. The test drive went fine. It had to wait until I was on my way home for this to happen. Is there some way the previous owner may have known it had a problem coming? Is there a way they can do temporary fixes to make it good for a while? There were no warning lights or check engine light until it broke down in the middle of a busy street, where I also got rear ended at the same time. I just hope it works now and I can trust it.

DON'T BUY IT
This is the worst car I have owned. I should have kept my previous car. This car is good to look at but nissan compromised on quality with this car. I have been having mechanical problems since purchasing this vehicle and no one can seem to fix the problem. There is a thumping noise coming from the wheel area. The interior is missing simple things like coin compartment and sun/eye glass holder. I am short and feel it lacks head room. the seats are horrible and the air conditioning/heated driver seat is a joke. I am ready to trade in this vehicle in.
Cant Stop Looking at It!
Just got my Tuscan Sun 2009 Maxima SV with Premium and Technology packages. Pictures do not do justice to the car. You need to see it in person. Even after 2 weeks I still find myself staring at it after I get out. Was worried a bit about gas mileage before buying but I've put 1000 mixed miles on it and am getting about 24 mpg. Using regular grade gas as well even though premium is recommended. Traded in an Infiniti I30 which I loved, but the new Maxima has it beat. Love the car so far.
First Review
Speed and agility is superb. Drive handling and cornering is excellent. Technology package surpasses any other package I've encountered. Interior space seem tight for a mid-large car
