Used 2000 Nissan Maxima Consumer Reviews
Good Relief
After driving a 95 f150 for a while it was a pleasure to drive this car, the fuel mileage was way better, and the performance was outstanding. My only complaint is that it doesn't look the part. the "Bose" sound system is incredible. i wish we had bought the traction control for it cause i don't even go mid throttle sometimes and the wheels just spin away from all the low end torque. This car is an excellent daily driver after driving a 3 ton brute every where. But i would highly recommend this car for anyone who wants a thrill, with an above average fuel economy.
4 Door Sports Car
This car is great. It is fast, nimble and comfortable. I have several friends who are 6'5" and they enjoy riding with me in the comfort. Perhaps yes it could be faster, but where and when do you get to "open it up" ? I put about thirty thousand miles on this car in a year, and except for oil changes, and two new tires it has been a great ride. Paint still looks good, interior doesnt look worn. The plastic appointments are still sturdy in the vehicle. Its roomy and it turns heads. I dont like the fact that you can't turn on your fog lights without turning on your headlights. .
Super Auto
Simply put, this is the best vehicle I have ever owned. I have owned approx. 25 other autos. This one is very reliable, quick and decisive. Get one if you have the means.
nissan customer service bites
Bought this Maxima SE new. So far I had one coil replaced in warranty. Then the trans went (auto). Then problems with the coils out of warranty. Nissan would do nothing for me. They said I had to replace all the coils this time ! Over $600.00 !!!! Nissan would do nothing for me.I will never buy another Nissan again for this headache. But I still love my car.
Fun money pit
Bought the car in 10/2003 with 28000 miles on it, coming off a fleet lease. Now has 73000 miles. Wife's car - she enjoys the car, good visibility for short petite person. Grown kids refer to it as the green goblin. It's a nice solid, if overpowered car. Expensive repairs over the long haul (e.g. MAF, coils, muffler, gas vent canister, ball joint, drive shaft boots). No go in snow-overpowered, skidish.
