Used 2000 Nissan Maxima Consumer Reviews
Great Car
I bought this car 12/20/99. This car has been one of the best cars I have had. I have over 200,000 miles. Took it in today thinking I would have to buy a new car and it only needs the fan replaced and transmission servicing. I have had a problem with the tires wearing out quickly and an issue with keeping tires balanced. Slight vibration in the front. A little small for my husband but perfect for me. Passenger seat could have more seat adjustment capability
Not a Sport's sedan
The only good thing about the 2000 Maxima is the engine. Smooth, powerful. The seating position is poor and the handling is also poor. Wind noise is terrible (at highway sppeds)!!!!!!!!!!!!! The gauges are minimal with no oil pressure, etc
Even If I was rich, I would drive a Max.
I just bought one a few days ago, coming off a 91' max. I thought my 91' was powerful, man I was wrong. The power and acceleration of this car kicks butt! I love it. All the features and the comfort. Love the bose, auto temperature, Sunroof, 17' rims, everything! I bought my 5-speed 91' with 91k on it for 2 years. rarely did it give me any problems. Now I bought a 2000 with 43k and I am in heaven!!
Fun car
Great car, fun to drive and very comfortable. Best part is an engine. It gives you whatever you ask for. Build quality is OK, I had a problem with ignition coils and MAF sensor, yet it was not that costly since I replaced it by myself ($400 total cost). I have 60K now and after replace MAF sensor, it runs like new. Good mpg - 27 in mix driving. Sound system and controls are great. I like the dashbord and interior design. Exterior is not that great, yet the idea of the 222 hp gives it respect. This is my first foregn car and what is the difference, tight build quality compare with Fords I had before. I'm not sure my next car will be Max. I would try something else.
Better if:
It had Good breajs, a better winshield, awd, standuard parts (tires, wheels, and wipers). Nice engin though. My car now has a dieing tranny, and some sort of stearing prob.
