Used 1998 Nissan Maxima Sedan Consumer Reviews
Updated Review 3 yrs & 150K miles later
I was just looking back through the various reviews when I noticed one I wrote in August 2002. Three years later, I still own the same Maxima which now has 150,000 miles on it. The car rides like the first day I got it and basically requires little other than basic maintenance. The vehicle has aged very well and I still highly satisfied with this purchase.
Terrific Car
Bought this car last year with about 92000 mi. very dependable, crashed the front passenger side quarter and it still runs as good as the day i got it. haven't had any trouble with it so far except an oil change and new brake pads.
Great Car
I've had to cars in my life. My 2 car ownership history spans from 1994 to present (2008). I had a 1988 Acura legend that I bought in '94 with 60000 miles. I got the '98 Max in Nov 99 with 30k in mileage. I'm at 253k now in June '08. No major issues. Periodic tune-ups and regular oil, trans fluid and coolant changes. A great car.
Excellent Car
I have owned this car for three years and I have only had to have the rear bearings changed, a new batery, new tires, and new sepentine belts. Just regular maintenance ... except for the bearings. Even though it's a '98 it is comfortable and very reliable. Recommended!!
1st non-US car owned
47 yrs old and gave up on US cars. This car is really quite incredible. 3.0L V6 and it moves! Quiet and sporty, especially with my 215/55/16 tires. 98,000 miles on it but drives like 30K Exterior design may be a little dull but i just bought new front turn signal lights & rear tail lights to sport it up.
