Crushes the competition
Just took delivery on a Frontier 4x4 SV Crew Cab (short bed) with "Convenience" and "Technology pages. Paid (true) MSRP. Drive train is excellent, plenty of horsepower and torque. Ride is comfortable, but plenty of "road feel" from the suspension. Steering is electronic ("fly-by-wire") I think which is fine on curves where there is constant feedback from the centripetal force. On a perfect straightaway, it requires constant very small movements of the steering wheel to stay on course. (This seems true of many electronic steering systems.) The automatic transmission is satisfactory, but another "improvement" car makers are doing -- more gears is not necessarily better. It's fine during normal driving at various speeds, but when at highway speeds and you floor the accelerator to pass a vehicle, it sometimes seems to drop into too low a gear and race the RPMs and then in a short time find an appropriate gear. My 2008 Frontier 4x4 SV King Cab was much "tighter" in shifting gears to pass.

3 Star Front Passenger
There was nomprovement in front passenger crash survivability. It remains at 3 stars meaning you are twice as likely to die in this truck verse a 5 star rating. The truck uses direct injection without the avility of the port to wash the valves through detergents in gasoline. Gas mileage is not stellar in city. Hwy mileage is 25mpg at 65mph. It has dropped to 16 in city. Consumer reports indicate less than average reliability.

Better than some.....worse than others
Starting to think you can get a "good one or a bad one" based on the folks putting them together on the assembly line. That goes for any brand or model out there today. The big issue is Nissan and the dealership standing behind the second biggest purchase most people make in their lives. Recalls and lack of professionals in the business cause a lot of heartburn for owners.......they really don't care about the consumer after the purchase. The 2022 Frontier has been good, but not great, for many of the reasons pointed out in the reviews. The best service has been with Toyota and the worst was Ford. My truck is in the shop now for flat spotted tires for no apparent reason (Hankook), recalls, and general maintenance. 20k miles and hope most of the bugs have been found but having a dealership within 50 miles of your home will influence my next purchase. Find a decent dealership........you'll be spending time in the service dept. WAITING for your ride.

Rolling Brick
This is my 4th Frontier and I should have bought the 21 model and saved myself money. Engine and transmission are very good, seats seem to be getting more comfortable. Ride quality is poor at best, you feel every bump in the road. There is improvement in road noise in cab. Interior still looks dated and cheap, have a few rattles and squeaks . Gas mileage a bit better over the old 6cyl. I had to install hitch myself, how Nissan can sell a truck without one at these prices is ridiculous. I’m not very impressed.
