Worst purchase of my life :(

Purchased my first new vehicle, Nissan Frontier SV 4x4 Crew Cab. So far I have had 3 problems, Nissan has only covered one... 1. No hole drilled for air conditioner drain. Water leaked all over the interior and blew out of every vent. Nissan "fixed" this. 2. The "paint" on the rear wheel wells is literally falling off after 5,000 miles. After several frustrating attempts Nissan refuses to fix this. Edmunds does not allow pictures but if you do some searching you should find them. 3. The rear sonar now no longer works @ 8,000 miles. Nissan has basically told me "No" several times to the paint, claiming its environmental. I live on a normal street, happened at 5000 miles.

In 2015 I bought a new Frontier SV crewcab because it was the most uncomplicated and best price at the time. 220,000 kms (138,000 miles) later its simplicity and durability continues to impress me. Basic maintenance has been oil changes, air filters, brakes and tires. The only other repairs has been the rear axle vent and a rear axle seal due to the plugged rear axle vent. I can't say enough about how impressed I am by this truck. So much so that I recently bought a low mile 2019 Pro4X. It will be my nice retirement truck as my 2015 has slowly become a well used and dinged up work truck. Frontiers are not the coolest mid size truck but I'd have to say its proven to be the lowest operating cost and most reliable truck I've ever owned.

Edmunds Educated Me Before I Went Shopping

When shopping for a used pickup in 2020, I looked at Edmunds everyday for three weeks to educate myself about the features available. Edmunds helped me to become familiar with the prices and features of various model years available in my local market inventory. I liked that for several model years Nissan didn't make lots of annual changes and that parts were readily affordable. This vehicle included the factory backup camera, short bed, factory spray bed coating and Utili-track rails and 4 tie-down cleats--everything I wanted! In determining if I wanted to buy this particular high-mileage (115,000) truck, I scheduled time with a mechanic and took it there during the test drive. For $59 the mechanic gave me a written evaluation. It took about an hour. The car lot that was selling the vehicle agreed to do everything on the list including a transmission flush, oil and filter change, differential check, new wiper blades, and other stuff. It was great to have the written list to back up my request. Update: I bought this 2015 pickup in the Summer of 2020 and 5 years later it's still doing great. So far, I've replaced some hoses, tires and fixed an oil pan plug leak. Thanks Edmunds and thanks Top Notch Autocare in Tucson, AZ.

Great Truck as long as you don't have problems...

I had a 2008 Frontier SV Crew-Cab 4X4 4.0L 6cyl 5A truck, loved it. Once I sold it, bought this one: 2015 SV CC 4X4 4.0L 6cyl 5A with Value Package, no Nav. Great truck, except for the bluetooth. It always defaults to automatically replying to text messages (Nissan Consumer Affairs and the dealership both acknowledge that this is a defect), but Consumer Affairs will not provide any support/update/fix, other than "We are aware." Test out your phone's connection before you sign on the dotted line. Like I said, love the truck, except for the faulty software programming and the significant lack of support from Nissan.

Low Cost Reliability and Maintainability

It's a good looking, comfortable, simple, reliable, and functional pickup truck! Has heated seats, backup camera, and tow package! I like Nissan's approach to improving on an existing design each year rather than a total redesign each year. I've owned two; would buy this design again!
