Great car but plan ahead

I have now owned three Taurus/Sable wagons and will buy another for many reasons that make the car work for me. Comfort, Great roadholding, safety, and the ability to hold a ten foot long piece of wood or pipe from Home Depot. The cars almost never need any work on them but can be expensive to fix as any new car can be when the do break. The big weakness to these cars is the transmission is very weak and will generally require a rebuild around 125- 140k. The rebuild is not expensive as trasmissions go (between 900 and 2k depending on the shop).

This car has everything I need and is super reliable. The only time I see dealer is for oil changes and tire rotation.

Very stylish vehicle.Quiet on the road, fels like a luxury car, 28 miles per gallon around town. Comfortable seats with lots of leg room. Speakers could be better, like the temperature readout and the controls. Great car for the money.

I've driven this car for years now and it's a kicker. Strong engine, reliable vehicle, comfortable enough, Plenty of room for everyone and thing. It's roof rack and fold down seats was next best thing to owning a truck when the need arised. At 160k it was still going strong, I anticipated it lasting 200k easy. Safety second to none. I was hit and it took it, no one was hurt in the car. Definite keeper. Looking for another one now.

Very good family car. We drove it all over Texas with 4 adults (actually 2 adults and two very big teenage boys). No complaints. Plenty of room, large trunk, and rides very nice. And its gets great highway mileage as well.
