Mercedes ML after one year
The ML 350 compares favorably with my old BMW X5 in comfort and design with the following exceptions: Not as sporty a ride as the X5. BMW's just drive more like sporting cars to me than Mercedes. Lack of low-end acceleration. The X5 and ML that I had are both 6-cyl models. I haven't compared acceleration times but the Merc doesn't seem as quick. The new 6-sp transmission on the ML has a whine to it that can be annoying. The radio controls embedded within the nav screen on the ML are not intuitive. Poor positioning of the cruise control stalk. I'll be happy with the ML but not as happy as w/the X5. Can't wait for the reported development of the BMW X6!
Great SUV
After riding in the Lexus and BMW, this was the best and most fun to drive. It just says luxury. The controls could be better positioned, but overall its a great buy for the price.

I have had this vehicle in to the service department for jerking transmission problems six times at two different dealerships. They claim it is a known problem and that there is a "software upgrade" coming from MB Corporate. The service experience and the lack of solution makes this my first and last Mercedes purchase. Too bad because we really liked the vehicle. Also, the check coolant light is on constantly. They told us it was an "electrical problem" and didn't fix it. The sunroof will not close unless you hit button two to three times due to a sensor problem.
It's Awesome
The tyranny of choice out there with luxury SUV's. I did my homework - test drove a lot - researched too many - whittled it down to two. I think this car is the real deal. Fun to drive, great looking, performs magnificintly. I'm incredibly happy three months later. This SUV is awesome!
Got to love it
14,000 miles and we still love it. It is a very quiet, extremly comfortable ride. It is almost sporty, and the the fuel economy averages 20 MPG mixed driving. When on the highway you can experience over 24 MPG. I like the 7 speed transmission with the shift knobs at the steering wheel, and overtaking is incredibly easy thanks to the V6 which never seems to run out of breath. It is very safe with a lot of standard safty features (Vehicle stability control, brake assist and more) and it is roomier than its outside will tell you. It drives and behaves like a much smaller car with all the advantages of a 4x4 SUV. I buy it again in a heartbeat. Great car.
Best Luxury SUV
Since date of purchase, best car I have ever owned. Truly the best luxury SUV in it's class.
More Comfortble Than The E-Class
I traded my 2003 E-320 for the new ML and I immediately noticed that this SUV rides better than the E!
ML 350
Not quite as nice as our previous 2003 E320 on the interior, but I guess we could have gone into the ML 500 and had the same options for a higher price. Fuel economy is good for a 4wd vehicle (24 mpg on Hwy between 65 mph and 70) Ground clearance is good and the 4wd has been quite handy as we go out to undeveloped land frequently where there is no paved road.
Jims ML Mercedes
I really like this vehicle. It is more than I expected. It runs like a dream, drives wonderful, and the seats are outstanding. Workmanship is excellent both exterior and interior. I only wish it was 5 inches wider in the luggage compartment so golf clubs would fit sideways. I even hauled a large piece of furniture from Penn to VA Would consider buying another or its counter part the R350 wagon.
Great SUV
I purchased my ML 350 in January 2006. I have experienced an airbag malfunction warning and most recently the battery/brake warning came on. I also had to take it in because I could not reach Tele Aide. All in all I love the car and get a free loner when there is a problem. I owned a 2004 ML 350 had no problems but this one is much more comfortable.
Good ML
I bought this SUV as a second hand from the MB dealer in Vancouver Canada. When got car it had 10000 km ,the car works pretty good till now i drove about 30000 km in 8 months , it never let me down .
Upgrade from 2000 ML320
I recently bought this car used, with 29500 miles. I traded in a 2000 ML320 with 78000 miles, which I loved and never had a problem with. This newer model is beautiful, solid, and fun to drive. I don't like all the changes to where things are located, however - the window buttons, cup holders, gas filler, and gear shift have all been moved. I also prefer more traditional knobs to all the pushbuttons.

ML500 persistent problems w 160K miles we have had the normal mantenance as scheduled by MB. The issue is repetitive electrical problems that grind this vehicle to a halt. MB has over designed this vehicle without taking into account the enduser. We have has the rear SAM signal acquisition module. which results in sever electrical issues. No tail lights, rear hatch not opening, gas gauge not working, and various electrical issues. We are told its probably due to water getting into the real cabin where fuses and SAM is located. Previously replaced the trans control module. Which prevent vehicle from shifting into park or drive basically disabling the vehicle The normal mechanical repairs bearings, oil pan replacement, steering control arm, etc. we all expensive but understandable. The electrical issues are the worst pretty much prevents vehicle from operating

Awesome SUV
I've had this car for over 3 years and I love the car - the way it handles and performs. Also, it's built so well, I feel so safe driving it. I've owned Japanese SUV's in the past, but it's no comparison. I will never go back Lexus or Acura
Over priced
Bought it with 2000 miles. My wife said not to. She was right. It rides like a light car. In the shop all the time. Way underpowered. Then purchased a Sequia what difference bigger interior better ride and better MPG. Don't buy one. My first Mercedes and my last.
