I never leave reviews. However my experience with my two Mercedes SUVs were quite terrible. First one was the 2015 ML400. After 3.5 years, this vehicle started stalling randomly when stopped at traffic lights, or waiting to turn (including turning left on busy freeways, motorways). It would stall, and would not start immediately. Quite disconcerting when you have lines of traffic behind you, or are sitting in the middle of a busy intersection turning left, not knowing if the car would restart. Mercedes tried to fix it, but could not. They didn't treat this as the serious issue that it was. They finally let us trade it in for a 2020 GLE 450 after we had to threaten legal action. The first three years were fine with the new 2020 GLE, albeit a few minor irritating issues such as: - no independent heat/air controls in rear seating. All other luxury vehicles have this. - doesn't feel like a luxury car ride. It can be quite rough, bumpy, lots of air noise. - for some reason the camera comes on when vehicle stopped at intersections. So all you can see is the intersection that you are already looking at though the windshield. Mercedes said "this is just the way it is". You can back out of the camera view, but why does it do that anyway? Even Mercedes had no answer. - if using the navigation and playing something through the media, the media is still playing away while navigation is talking. I have not been in any other car that does this. Usually the media halts playing while navigation talks. - Navigation is not great. It seems to get confused a lot and takes us in circles, requiring us to use our phones to get somewhere. - wireless charger is useless if you have an oversize phone or a phone case on phone. - we had at least one, usually two safety recalls EACH year that we have owned this car. Mercedes appears to let customers discover the safety issues. - adaptive headlights don't work despite being assured by Mercedes that they do. - Breaks squeak horribly. After about three years more issues emerged with the 2020 GLE450. I will list them. - ongoing terrible sunroof rattle which is still not fixed despite MANY visits to the dealership. Mercedes acknowledged that this was a known issue that develops with this model. Of course it is not mentioned when sold to you. - terrible creaking noise from steering wheel despite MANY visits to dealership - various rattles and noise from cockpit of car. Sounds like a 15 year old clunker even though it is 4 year old luxury vehicle. It feels like the whole vehicle starts loosening up after you have it a few years. We only drive in the city, not off road so definitely quality issue. - after a software update, the car started to violently and strongly yank the car back into lane, even it you were trying to get in that lane. This happened several times when we were trying to avoid a vehicle swerving into our lane. A few feet difference and we would have hit those vehicles due to our car over-riding our steering. To us, this is a serious safety hazard. We took it to dealership, but they said this was a feature of the car. Again, a big shoulder shrug from Mercedes. - random indicator lights coming on telling us there was an issue with something in the car, but turned out there was not after taking car in (again and again). We are now selling this car, and moving to a different luxury brand. Three times will not be the charm for us with Mercedes. We won't miss our visits to the service department.

I’m not sure why I am seeing so many people complaining about the newly redesigned 2020 GLE... I have had nothing but an amazing experience with it. Yeah the sensors on sides are hyper sensitive but it doesn’t bother me. In fact, it’s helped to keep me wacking my stone mailbox multiple times. It’s an amazing drive, very smooth acceleration and handles perfectly at high rates of speed. It’s my 3rd MB and I love it!

2020 Mercedes GLE 350

What a wonderful SUV.! Like driving in your Living Room. First impressions... The Turbo 4 is more than adequate, no matter what you may need...Soild like a rock, Transmission is flawless, the interactive system Mbux is amazing but I can turn up the AC faster than asking " Hey Mercedes. I love the Apple Car Play and the readouts of the received texts and the ability to answer them using voice instead of typing. So many choices to customize the dash board and interior colors. The cameras and overhead view is very cool and the wide angle of the reverse cam is amazing. The Mbux system is amazing but I find it easier to lower the AC by hand then having to say "Hey Mercedes" "How can I help you" But hey it's fun and has other serious features. One of the best parts is it learns your voice. It is an electronic marvel on so many levels. But these electronic marvels are not standard equipment. And as a buyer you have to choose. Keep in mind my Sticker Price was 62,000 but you easily can build an 85,000 version. Some of these optional features are standard on Kia and Hyundai. Especially Park by Key fob. The Benz parks but the Dealer's Salesman said "at your own risk." But others which should be standard in 2020 come at a hefty premium. "Hey Mercedes " knock it off...those days a past, especially when features like, Active Cruise Control , Lane Keeping and more are standard on a 2019 middle level Accord. If you want a bigger look get the 20 inch wheels and you need the running boards to complete the picture even though they are too small to put your foot on requiring you to rub the back of your ankle on the board while reaching the road.. Here is some things they missed. The rear seat back has only one position. This takes up cargo space by not allowing you to make the seat stay upright. The other miss is no cargo net hooks. This is my 2000 mile report. By the way my vehicle had a 62,000 sticker price. 7000 mile report. All good love the vehicle one flaw is the rain sensing wipers sometimes wipe the window when it is dry when starting the car. Dealer is at a loss and agrees this is a problem. 14000 mile report. The Car is wonderful. no problems that require service except 2 minor recalls. As for the technology a few weird occurrences. Found the windows rolled down half way when parked coming back from a store. This has happened twice. Once started car but the entire display was not available (their words) As said before the rain sensing wipers need a complete re engineering or programming. Great Car one more year on the lease to go,

Gorgeous and solid car

As a techy and after 8 weeks of research, I couldn’t be happier. There’s enough tech and solid raw SUV features, power and convenience to keep me happy for years. Background: I have driven different Mercedes vehicles for over 15 years and thought to change it up this year. I test drove several other brands, noted their merits and thought I saw a few contenders In Lincoln, Audi, Range Rover, and Volvo. When I returned to test drive the Mercedes GLE 350 one last time, simply nothing compared. Nothing! I love this car and have already been on a 300+ mile road trip on Day 1.
