Great on handling, but lacks comfort

This is my 3rd Mercedes, 2nd E series. No disappointment in quality, style, handling, features, but the lack of padding and poor quality leatherette seating makes a long road trip exceptionally unpleasant. Compared to the interior of BMW, Audi, and Jaguar, Mercedes needs to upgrade their standards. Otherwise, this is a great car with decent acceleration, fuel consumption, and overall standard features. My car has all the premium packages including, keyless go, blind spot monitoring, etc. and is a joy to drive. I feel especially protected driving with the enhanced safety features. The upgraded sound system is awesome, but the navigation system is very complicated and I generally resort to using my internet gps! Would I buy it again? Only if the comfort and interior quality was improved. The very best feature for me is a brand new, top of the line dealership is less than 1mile from my home and their service dept is AWESOME!! Thank you Mercedes Benz of The Woodlands! I purchase my 2016 E350 new in Dec, 2016 (drop down box below would not accept the year!)

I've been driving my E400 for several months. If the regular maintenance is taken care of this car has absolutely no issues. I've noticed several of the reviews for the 2016 E-Class docking the safety of the vehicle, which I would quickly like to say is not true or fair in any way. I recently got into a head on collision where a Chevy Silverado decided to jump the median. The cabin stayed in tact, the front end... not so much. I was going around 40mph, and I walked away from the incident. From the inside of the vehicle you can't tell there was an accident apart from the airbags having been deployed. If you are looking for a safe vehicle, MB has always been an option, and the E-Class has always been my go-to. The only place I would take points off of this vehicle is the price, as maintenance is obviously expensive. If you purchase this vehicle and are not prepared to pay several hundred, if not thousands, in service fees, you probably shouldn't be buying a Mercedes. As for the ride, it's a little bumpy, but definitely and improvement from my 2014 E350. I'm not sure why you wouldn't be satisfied with the acceleration of this vehicle, as it really has some jump, even in economy mode. I think the interior is very comfortable, even with a tight set of back seats. The back seats fold down to allow for extra storage space, so I've never really had a problem hauling around bags and groceries; when the back seats are folded there's enough space to lay down in the back... I would not purchase this vehicle anywhere other than a Mercedes dealership, or without a maintenance package. My local dealership has been extremely helpful. Never had the car break down, but it has had an issue with the cooling system and the air conditioning, which was fixed at no cost within a week. Even with a coolant issue, the car was still driving, displaying a warning of reduced power. The display system in the interior is not easy to figure out on your own, so I recommend having the sales rep show you everything there is to know about the car or finding an in depth youtube video and taking the time to learn the car inside and out. Overall I think Mercedes has done an excellent job with this model, and I will be continuing my loyalty to the mercedes line.

It takes a couple of hours to become acquainted with all the technology features but after the dealer familiarization coupled with the online videos at MBUSA.COM..it really a snap! Very impressive car; looked at several luxury sedans by various high end OEMs but came back to MB.

I really like driving this car. Thank you, Edmunds, for helping me to decide to buy it. Bought a 2 year old E350 as a CPO.
