What a buy
This car is the best highway cruiser I ever had. After 53 cars, its smooth and except for tire noise it is very quiet. The tire noise will be fixed with non high energy tires. My mpg is 30. The suspension is controlled but stable and conforming without being hard or soft.
Superb Car
The power and sophistication of this diesel motor must be experienced to be believed. Why M-B does not offer this motor in more body styles is beyond me.

Perfect Solution
This car offers a great ride coupled with outstanding fuel economy, good looks, and a social conscience. Sat, Nav, sound system are all top quality. Worth every penny!
I traded in a 2003 E 350
This car handles better than my previous E 500 (2003). The power is virtually the same below 60 mph and it feels more responsive in spite of its' AWD. I also have an S 500 and this car is more fun to drive. I road tested the new GS AWD and the M35 of Lexus and Infiniti and this car was the winner.
Excellent
Bought the E320 CDI to replace 04 BMW 530i. The difference in quality are amazing, for a $50k+ car the BMW is cheap and tacky inside. MB feels like it costs a lot more. Fuel consumption made me get the diesel, after test- driving both the gas and the diesel. The torque is stunning. Averaging 33mpg combined so far.
My Mercedes
The E320 CDI is a real driving pleasure, comfortable, amazing pick up and accelaration and a wonderful stable driving platform - minimum roll at cornering. A car to enjoy and keep
First month
Just the right size. Relaxed driving with a great engine and transmission combo. Great handling, not sporty but accurate and secure. Good fuel economy.
What a car !
I just plain love this car. I ordered from the factory with Obsidian black exterior and options like the HID lighting, and just could not be happier. The pickup, performance and handling are stunning, the interior is perfect, and the sound system performs as well as the car. I specifically wanted a certain set of options, so I sat with my dealer and made a build sheet and waited for delivery from Germay and I am not disappointed. The car is all I had expected and more. I am a diesel lover - I also have a VW diesel and I just cannot adjust to how quiet and quick this MB CDi is. Mileage has varied between 24 and 32 MPG, and tends to run higher when my wife drives it. She loves it as well.
Perfect car
As a previous BMW 5 series owner, I doubted that another car would compare favorably to that. The E350 4-matic is a dream to drive. The extra horsepower makes all the difference. All electronics work great. The car is beautiful inside and out. Quality all around.
A Perfect Commuter
My commute is 60 miles of highway against the traffic flow and I fill this CDI up once every two weeks. My 2001 E320 required refill once per week. Composed and comfortable, the integrated iPod system is a delight. Seat comfort is much improved over older models. No clatter or smoke and plenty of low end torque when you apply the right foot. Most passengers won't know it is a diesel till you tell them.
Who needs Hybrids
I have had this car for one month and 1300 miles - what a car. I am getting 33 MPG communting to work, great acceleration, great passing down kick at 60 MPH, and I can chirp the tires at a light - what more can you ask for. I traded my GS300 for this car and could not be happier. This car is not your father's diesel
Best Car I've ever owned
This car is a pleasure to drive. Plenty of power and the the seven speed is really smooth. My wife and I fight over this car. Just pure driving enjoyment.
Mercedes 320 CDI
I am a Mercedes enthusiast that has owned models ranging from SL, S and E classes since 1977. I have owned 4 diesels and 8 gas mosels. This is without a doubt, the finest car yet. The speed and torgue is fantastic, actually faster than the E320 gas model. Combine this with fantastic mileage (37 MPG hwy) great handling, impressive interior and exterior design, roomy interior, large trunk and lots of neat features and creature comforts and you have a 10.
At last
I just purchased my new CDI. I had driven older diesel Mercedes so, was familiar with the car. However, I was amazed at how quiet and powerful the new engines are. In addition to the many outstanding qualities of this car, the MPG is incredible. I have gone from 2 tanks per week (Range Rover) to 1 tank per 1 1/2 weeks. What a difference. Way to go Mercedes!
Best of Both Worlds
Having your cake and eating it too! The E-Class is the perfect highway cruiser, soaks up the bumps and smooth as butter. The diesel is phenomenal with gobs of torque off the line and still plenty of passing power from 50 to 90 mph range on the highway. Just drove this baby home 300 miles and got get this 36.8 mpg for the trip about 80% hwy and 20% city driving. Mercedes has it going on - forget hybrids diesel is fuel efficient and practical and proven for over a 100 years! Wasn't impressed with Lexus (dressed up Toyota) and BMW lacks luxury and pampering I was looking for (too spartan inside and weird looking outside) Audi came closest with A6 but alas no diesel in US yet! Drive it - Sold!
New E
This car was great from the start. The driving experience is best on the highway, as in city driving a driver might feel a bit disconnected from the road. Controls are easy to use while driving, although using my iPod proves a bit tricky to navigate through.
The best choice ever made
I looked at MBW, Lexus, and Infinity. However, MB E350 proved to be the better choice. Great car! It turns heads, all over. The dual moon roof is a big plus. The ability to choose between comfort or sport suspension at the click of a button makes it more appealing. The sound system is superb.
First Mercedes owned
This is the first Mercedes I have purchased. Safety is a must and this car has it all. Comfort is 2nd. Well built, very impressive. Don't ever make it cheap. The buyer will never come back.
Don't Leave Home Without It!
There's a flaw in the stats: mine gets MORE gas mileage: 45 mph. The car rides like a dream but maneuvers like a sports car. Quiet and powerful. I formerly owner a Mercedes diesel 70's model and the problems were: slower than a gas engine, smelly and noisy. Not now: the Turbo Diesel is super fast, doesn't smell, and is quiet as a church mouse. Listen to your doctor: Buy this car! Miami to Atlanta on 1 tank!
Schaller's E350 Review
I bought this vehicle, having owned a 2003 BMW 530i which I loved. My wife loved the MB even more so I purchased it for her. I've come to like the MB even more than the BMW primarily because it feels more refined. Even the passenger compartment, although not much larger than the BMW, feels significantly larger. I still think the BMW handles better but the MB is no slouch. I do wish MB had the same no cost (for 4 years) maintenance package the BMW came with. In closing, I would buy the vehicle again!
Nav system is an antique
The E320 CDI is very fuel efficient and fun to drive, but the transmission has occassional problems. Slipping during takeoff which my dealer says is normal. Styling is rather bland. Seats could stand to be a little more comfortable. The lumbar support should be power and easier to reach. My biggest complaint is the antique nav system. Somebody must have bought these on a $59 closeout. Charging $2900 for this system should be a felony. It's an unbelievably antiquated system with few features, no touch screen, and no voice command. Also there's no bluetooth unless you buy their phone. I own a 2007 Toyota Camry that blows this car away with superior luxury features. Sorry MB, you need to catch up
It Will Save Your Life!
Faster than a speeding bullet. Finest ride in the world. This Mercedes truly lives up to what the Europeans say: There's Mercedes and then there's the rest. It is safe, quiet. The diesel sounds sexier and quieter than a gas engine, and the turbo makes it faster. I pay 23 cents less a gallon than I do for BMW guzzling Z4 BMW. Buy this car, it will save your soul.
What a great car
I never thought I would own a Mercedes. I always felt they were and old person's car. This CDI as a lot of power. I drove from south Jersey to 20 miles from Georgia on one tank of fuel. I bet I could have made it to Georgia. I lease the car and the only way I will not buy it after the lease is if Mercedes puts that motor in its S class.
Great Car
We previosly owned 4 MLs, but it was time for a change. The car is fun to drive. The car has plenty of pick up. The interior space is very generous and the ride is great
Performance & 40mpg. Amazing CDI E320
An outstanding combination of class, performance, and economy! The E320 CDI has it all. The vehicle is a pleasure to drive. It produces massive torque at below 2000 rpm giving the sense of tremendous acceleration with almost no lag. Cruising with this vehicle at 75-80mph provides a solid feel of the road while producing almost 40mpg. The car loafs along at this speed and you can cruise for 3-4 hours at a time without tiring. The car handles well on country roads as well as interstates. While not a roadster, the car easily handles most curvey roads well. Better handling can be had if you install higher performance tires versus those the car is shipped with.
Best Diesel
Best diesel I've owned. 750-800 miles to a tank. Great for a salesman, but wish the wagon was available.
Best Sedan
This absolutely the best driving sedan I have ever purchased. The CDI is a awsome engine. On highway driving 85mph, I am still getting 35mpg, and in the city I am getting 24mpg, but again I have a lead foot!
Comfortable ride
A pleasure to drive. The ride is smooth and soft. Engine is smooth and strong
Best in 45 years
I have a 1998 E300 Turbodiesel and it was the best overall vehicle I have ever had until I purchased a 2006 E320 Turbodiesel. The 2006 gets 15% to 20% better mileage, and it has 20% more performance. The lighting is superior, the Nav system works well, and the ride and handling are better than any vehicle I have owned. Mileage is 37 to 40 mpg at 70mph, and 33 to 35 mpg at 75 mpg.
So far so good
Traded an '03 E320 for this '06 E320 CDI. The diesel is so quiet you don't know it's there. Plenty of power and lots of nice features like nav system and Harmon-Kardon radio, rear sunshade. Better cupholder/center console layout than the '03. Only had it for two weeks but well pleased thus far.
Bravo Diesel
I own both the BMW 5 series and this Mercedes 320 CDI. The Mercedes is so much more fun to drive! It has the power of a V8 yet sips fuel. The power matches the extra weight to give you the ride of a larger car. The leather seast are well made. The sound system is the best I've seen in a Mercedes ever, remember Becker? This will be a great car for many years.
Beautiful Car!
This is my first Mercedes and it is everything I had expected and then some. The car is a pure pleasure to drive, fuel mileage is great, interior is comfortable, and the straight 6 cast iron engine should last for many miles.
100% Satisfied
I've put 28000 miles on my CDI asnd like it more than ever. Fast. Agile, Outstanding mpg's. Very comfortable and feels safe to be in. The car is amazingly handy in the city - it has a very tight turning cirsle and maneuvers beautifully in tight quarters.
Great reliable automobile
Only reason for me to purchase newer model is because of the recent newer safety features

160,000 miles and still running strong
I bought my 2006 Mercedes E320 CDI new in October 2006 and marvel at it's low maintenance costs, quality of ride and great milage. We have taken this car from Texas to California on three occasions as well as traveled to North Carolina with another trip to Florida. Since the car is now 17 years old we have dropped the collision coverage and our cost to insure is very reasonable. The fit and finish of the car still make the car look great and the almost 800 mile range when traveling on the highway make it hard to beat. The only regret is that newer vehicles have backup camaras and other safety features like lane departure warning. At least I can play all of my old cassette tapes in this car. If you are not concerned with keeping up with the Jones and looking for a safe, inexpensive car with low operating costs (including insurance) look for a comparable model.

Buying a used e55 amg
If you’re looking for a reasonably priced used sports sedan that will pin your head to the headrest then look no further than the Mercedes Benz e55 AMG. When buying any used car it’s good to know what to watch out for and this is where I come in. I’ve owned a 2006 e55 AMG since 2008. My particular car was sold in 2007 even though it’s a 2006 model. I bought it used when it was still under factory warranty and purchased an extended warranty that took my coverage to 2012 or 75k miles. Very little went wrong until after the 75k mile mark had long passed. The biggest problem with these cars are the air ride suspension. Yes it’s cool to be able to raise and lower the car but after replacing these shocks the first time at 80k miles then again at 120k miles I elected to remove the air ride and put in a coil over suspension. I haven’t regretted that choice one time. I highly recommend if you’re looking for a used e55 or you have an e55 and the air ride goes out put in a coil over suspension. The ride is the same if not better and handling on curves is highly improved with less body roll. The other thing you need to be aware of is how this car eats tires. I got less than 10k miles on my last set of rear tires. Since the wheels are staggered there’s no rotating the front with the rear. Of course I drive like a bat out of hell most of the time so that could be my fault. My car has 140k miles on it now and other than the few common things that go out like batteries, alternators, etc the air ride is the only major cost I’ve had to endure. If your thinking of going to the next generation model 2007 e63 be aware that it’s a 6.3 liter naturally aspirated and isn’t nearly as exhilarating to drive. I had a buddy with one of these naturally aspirated e63’s and anytime I dropped the hammer he was toast. More recently around 2012 I think they went to a bi turbo e63 and that’s what I’d recommend over the naturally aspirated. Hope this helps.

Love it
This is our second Mercedes, we love it. Runs beautifully. The intereior is very roomy. Lots of great features. I really enjoy driving it.
Disappointing
Ive always wanted a Mercedes. To me, they were the epitome of luxury cars. I'm sorry to say I have been terribly disappointed. For what I paid I expected a top of the line vehicle, but got far less than I could have gotten from a new Camry. To start with, the navigation system is very important to me, yet the E320 has no touch screen, no voice command, not even blue tooth (some Japanese economy cars have blue tooth). In fact, the processor is so slow it cant present but a few streets at a time, and has no readable compass in the nav mode. No right arm rest for the driver if you use the cup holder. I could go on but space is limited. I wish I hadnt given up my Camry for this car.
New Mercedes diesel
I just bought the new E320 Bluetek. I replaced an E55 Kompressor, so the acceleration is down of course, the milage is double and power is enough. I drove last years 320 CDI, it's straight 6 was a little less noisey, you can tell this is a diesel when idling. Overall a beautiful car.
Never will buy any Mercedes benz everagain.
