great car!
Excellent all around. There is no way I could be more satisfied with this car. For the price, it is an absolute dream. I would never consider owning a different vehicle.
Beware the New C Class!!!
I am very fond of German cars, but my experience with the '01 C240 has been a disappointment. This car has spent more time at the dealership than all my previous Benz's (3) and BMW's (5) combined. The dealership has been wonderful and most problems have been covered under waranty. However, it is a hassel finding the time to take car to dealer for repairs. My '99 C230 has been much more dependable. The only time it has seen the dealer is for routine maintance. If you want to drive a "Baby Benz", do yourself a favor and find late model W202 (older C Class)and save yourself alot of trouble and money.

Disappointed
Waited oh so long for this car. First Mercedes and all that but have to say that I am somewaht disappointed. Stereo reception is poor at best. Seats are really uncomfortable despite my best attempts to configure. The idea of having to pay extra for a CD player is a bit much. At the end of the day, should have gone with a used E or waited until I could afford a new E.
So far so excellent
After 27k miles, I haven't had any problems. The C320 has lots of power when you need it and drives very smoothly. I got the sport package and the car handles very well around the turns.
ugh
Multiple design flaws and even more build execution flaws: seats that go back and won't come up, groaning suspension, air vents to the windshield that do nothing but create condensation, poor quality paint, impossibly complex climate controls, even more impossibly complex key to seat setting control requirements................all exceeded by a service department that really doesn't seem to know what they're doing, loaner cars with NO gas and rarely cleaned, blah blah blah. The sales rep (Calvin) was great; he is, unfortunately all too peerless. I'm off to pick up a Lexus GS300; never should have strayed from the proven Japanese brand.
