The CX5 does everything just about right!

The 2023 Mazda CX-5 is just right for this older automobile enthusiast. Even at the base sport level, which I purchased, the quality and refinement of the interior is exemplary. The seats are high quality design, fabrics, and very comfortable. The cabin ergonomics are well designed and the ride and handling manners are excellent. Acceleration is easily adequate for a ride through town, a jaunt down a country road, or merging onto a crowded highway. It only seems to lack a little passing power at highway speeds, but otherwise the engine is spirited and eager to please combined with the finely synchronized shifting of the 6 speed transmission. The 6 speed automatic transmission was a factor in my selection of the CX-5 (I am not yet a fan of CVT transmissions). What also impresses me about the 2023 Mazda CX-5 is the high quality fit and finish from the exterior paint through the interior cabin components. Even the control knobs have a very high quality and a precision tactile feel and operation. Having owned two other SUV brands over more than a decade, in my opinion, I have to say the CX-5 is a superior option.

2023 Mazda CX-5 2.5 S Preferred 4dr SUV AWD (2.5L 4cyl 6A)

I have always been a sucker for the "newest technology" when buying a new vehicle. When a new model is introduced or an existing model is completely redesigned, normally I'm all in. So why did I buy a vehicle which is essentially 8 model years old with my 2023 CX-5? Because it is so darn good. Yeah, it might not have the most current tech - no touchscreen, six speed tranny instead of 8 or so, simple (but elegant) interior. But this is a quality, proven vehicle - over 8 years, Mazda has engineered out all of the bugs. Incredibly responsive and quiet engine (can barely hear it idle at a traffic light). Exceptional quality interior materials - virtually as nice as my neighbor's Audi, for lots less $. Smooth ride, very similar to my bigger midsize sedan, with wonderfully supportive seats that are great for road trips. 28 mpg in everyday driving, 34 for highway driving. Top notch safety ratings. And with a little bit of practice, I now prefer Mazda's non-touchscreen infotainment - knobs are knurled and perfectly placed, and I can make adjustments without taking my eyes off the road. The vehicle simply exudes quality and is incredibly solid in every way. And the Preferred trim is a real bargain : leather seats, sunroof, dual climate, heated seats, dual setting driver's seat (great for me and my wife), power front passenger seat, better riding 17 inch wheels - all for $32K. Handling is a hoot; the car does precisely what I ask it to do, no more, no less. Unless you want to drive very aggressively, the base engine is excellent; no problems with passing power or acceleration. Yes, other SUV's have more cargo capacity if you absolutely need it, but the CX-5 is completely adequate for this empty nest couple. My only complaint is that rear visibility isn't as good as I'd prefer (probably due to the design), but it's quite satisfactory - and front visibility is excellent. We looked at the SUV market at a local new car show, and drove 3 other competitors. Yeah, there are plenty of newer designed, glitzier models out there you can consider. But I am completely loving my comparatively "old" 2023 CX-5. It is a terrific vehicle.

I love this car. I have not had a lot a cars in my life so I can’t compare like others who review. This car rides so smooth and quiet. Sometimes I can’t even tell it’s running when I first start it up. I needed an SUV due to aging back and knee problems. I could no longer get into my little 23 yr old Honda Civic anymore. This car is perfect for me, very comfortable and I love every aspect of it. I test drove a Honda CRV as well and this car is so much smoother, classier and more luxurious. Mazda won me over - and I was a Honda loyalist. I thought I would buy a Honda - but no. I would buy this car again and recommend to anyone. I got the carbon edition with red leather seats. It’s so cool.

We picked the Premium ( 1 below the top non-turbo line trim ) - this review ...The result of taking many high mileage , consistently long freeway trips, which has yielded some interesting data. First I have had not one issue that required a trip back to the dealer - Second , it has an ultra low fatigue factor when driving over 5 hours and is right at home on long mid-state, California / Arizona/ New Mexico highways that people cruise at 80 in the slow lane -- The CX5 is geared well and 6th will let you roll effortlessly at 75 and still get +30mpg - As well there's plenty left to move up in mph if needed- Its at home on the long stretches and is super quiet and well mannered- Some say shy on power , but my experience is , not so , once you learn how to harness the gobs of torque that are delivered by a direct injection 2.5 at low rpms - its spot on with 2 people and luggage- the firm suspension is a bonus at these higher speeds -it feels firm and controllable , the steering feedback is second to none - once had an MBZs500 that honestly didnt behave as well -( although it was a 2001 ) - Not a fair comparison , yet its true- The transmission is what I believe is the best aspect of this vehicle , an old school solid chunk of metal that has a super reliable 6speed automatic , which has a twin clutch w/solenoid so once you start moving it rapidly locks into direct drive ..no extended exhaustive torque converter wind up before gear engagement. It is "AWD" but in reality 90% front wheel drive ( most often) with a rear differential magnetic lockout which is another serious stoke of simplistic genius, because magnets dont wear out - ever ! These may not be the " sizzle " items that sell cars , but if you plan on keeping what you buy for decades - this one is made to have the capability to meet that challenge ! I choose the naturally aspirated engine over the turbo , which in another piece of engineering excellence , Mazda has a patented Miller Cycle combustion engine , -- translation ..high compression ( 13:1 - USA ) ( 14:1 other ) ( 10-turbo )- with a unique intake system in which the intake valve closes late on the combustion upstroke ,right before detonation , thus reducing piston drag ,and increasing efficiency - one thing Mazda dosent say is that these high compression engines , ALL run better on high octane gas -- and there will be many throwing fits reading this - but even in the owners manual on the non-turbo engine it says " minimum octane rating 87 " -( as well theres no sticker on the gas cap area saying " use only 87 or low-octane gas " ) hmmm and, in the manual it states that lower than 87 octane can damage the engine..so what if you buy 87 and its off by a bit and is 86 ?- guess what -- not good ! Use at least 89 - .....its true -- because high octane fuel is more stable and harder to detonate -- thus on high compression engines - pre detonation with low octane gas is a concern-- so I run 91-93 and its noticeable in performance too --on Turbos , I would never consider low octane precisely because of this phenomena - when turbos create increased compression and pre-detonation is a much bigger risk --- any-who-ha - use at least 89 ..if you must ... , This is a well built , efficient , fun action packed ride for a steal of a price - Built to last and if you look around, you will see the 2012-13 first years CX5s still on the road ... ...its been built for over 10 years with one slight body change and some minor tweaks here and there ...so the result , is all the knowledge associated with over a decade of making the same vehicle- combined with the Japanese car makers ethos of KAIZEN . or constant improvement- you get - a winner - top to bottom - tight in the back seat / so if you are looking for a people mover - dont buy this race rocket - I dont want 5 people in my car anyway - on other non-driving irritants , but overlookable ....terrible info-tainment system , confusing , the key fob is another , the lock/unlock , rear hatch are on the side and easily set off in ones pocket - the old one was simple and better -- so my complaints are mainly tech-related nonsense thats been overthought and in trying to achieve convenience , confusion is sewn - The drive line / suspension / steering are second to none , and--- are what overshadow all that ridiculous tech stuff, that frankly all cars have now- so - we press on ....the accelerator ;-)

Traded a Honda CRV (which is noisy and you can feel every bump in the road) on this CX5. This SUV is engaging and fun to drive. We are getting excellent gas mileage even with AWD. It is very quiet inside and the fit and finish and detailing if phenomenal. Puts the CRV to shame. After 7 months of owning we are still getting excellent gas mileage and it is still fun to drive. Traded it in only because we wanted a newer car, but definitely recommend the cx5, it was a great and dependable vehicle.

Compared to competitors, this compact SUV has premium materials and is near par to a Lexus. Love it! Im very pleased to have ordered the signature model. The ride is comfortable and quiet. Had a 2018 CRV before and compared to the CX5, huge difference…only thing that bothers me is the rear passenger space and the placement of the cup holders. The CRV was noisier, but more spacious in the rear. I guess it depends on what the purchaser is looking for.

This is my first "new generation" car purchase my most recent car was bought in 2005. Huge difference is tech! Overall super happy with performance (non turbo). Gas mileage ..meh..Had some difficulty in figuring out all the high tech operation of the systems but after referring to owners manual MANY time have pretty much figured out. Love the interior design and at 6 feet tall happy with the roominess . Cup holders pretty hard to use. I actually prefer the center console dial system to operate in the info system vs touch screen. Ride is firm and stable. only down side so far about this car is the $500 add on they want for the nav system to operate :( So far (3k miles) very happy with purchase.

The CX-5 lives up to the hype

2023 Mazda CX-5 2.5 S Carbon Edition 4dr SUV AWD (2.5L 4cyl 6A)

I'm a first-time crossover owner who traded in my beloved 2017 Ford Fiesta ST toward a '23 CX-5 Carbon Edition. Several people I know have CX-5s and are thrilled with them, so I already knew I liked the car's looks, interior styling and comfort, and high level of quality. I needed a larger, more practical vehicle than the tiny, not-so-comfortable ST, plus I wanted AWD. I didn't need maximum interior/cargo space and was willing to sacrifice a bit of fuel economy (unwilling to get on a long waiting list for a Honda or Toyota hybrid), so the Mazda was the obvious choice. I figured I'd be sacrificing a lot of driving enjoyment moving from a great hot hatch to the CX-5. When I test drove the CX-5, I expected it to be good, but nothing that special. But I found it really great to drive from the get-go, and since then, I've been blown away with how fun it is to drive, even on twisty roads. Obviously, it's not nearly as quick (I have the base engine) or capable as a Fiesta ST, but it doesn't drive at all like a "trucklet" or utilitarian vehicle--it's more like a sports sedan. The steering weight and feel is excellent--I prefer it to the ST's steering, surprisingly--and the handling and overall body control (it looks like it's sitting high on its suspension but it doesn't have nearly as much body roll as you'd expect) makes it very confidence-inspiring. Yet it's stable and relaxing on the freeway, and compliant in town—the ride is firm on bad roads but not uncomfortable. The base engine's power is fine--the turbo would be nice but it didn't seem worth $6-7K more. The six-speed automatic (hooray, no CVT!) works well and is quite good in manual mode when I want a bit more responsiveness. My gas mileage has been pretty close to the EPA estimates; on one mostly highway road trip, I averaged 31.7 mpg, which isn't bad, but unlike some cars, don't expect it to beat its highway estimated mpg by a lot. Given its just-OK gas mileage, a bigger fuel tank would be nice--its range between fill-ups isn't great. I have 6K+ miles on it now and it's been perfect--no issues or annoyances. I've heard a few reviewers complain about the seats, saying they're too firm, but I find them very supportive and comfortable on longer trips. Passengers seem really happy in the car--it's a good place to spend time. Some of Mazda's safety nannies I could live without, but they can be largely disabled. And not everyone likes the infotainment system's lack of a touchscreen, but I like the rotary knob, which feels good and works well. Apple CarPlay works great in the Mazda (it could be erratic in my Ford), although its interface isn't as suited to the rotary knob. Otherwise, I couldn't be happier with my CX-5, and even though it's a model that's been out for a long time, I still get a kick out of its looks, especially in the "polymetal gray" (really more of a blue) of the Carbon Edition. I'd recommend this car without hesitation. It probably won't be around too much longer, but for now, it still seems like the sweet spot in Mazda's CUV/SUV lineup.

I did a lot of research and test drives on the top sellers, Toyota RAV4, Nisan Rogue, Honda SRV, Ford Escape and of course Mazda CX-5. It’s has more to offer than all the others I have looked at, it’s not perfect, but to me it’s the one that I want to own and drive, so I splurged and purchased the Mazda CX-5 Signature Turbo. Wow…. So impressed with Mazda. Great performance, superb rich looking quality interior, great looking outside and it’s built in Japan. I highly recommend you look at the CX-5 before making a purchase.

I really love my new car and getting to know the features is slow going but I feel so much more secure. One of the many features I love is the heads-up, and the door locks that engage when I put it in drive in the event, I forget to lock the doors as I drive off. There were a few bugs, like the Bluetooth and navigation.

A quick trip in this Mazda will find you loving the driving experience it provides. Ride is firm but it handles well for a suv or anything for that matter. Seats are easy to sit in for all day driving, sound system gives you adjustments so it can sound almost as good a bose system in my 2020CX-5. Wantagh Mazda is a great dealer to work with for your purchase. Base engine is good but you need to rev it out and it does well!! Gas milage is good26 city, I can get 34 mpg highway. Ventilation system, heat and ac work well, head lights are good all conditions, wipers work great front and rear, traction is great in all weather thanks to AWD!

Previously owned a 2007 Mazda 6, drove it 15 years with no problems, a great car. Seats were ok on long drives. Bought a 2023 CX5 3 months ago. Overall it’s ok, it drives and handles like a Mazda should but the seats are killers! Anymore than an hours drive and my back and neck just ache. My wife and son concur. So what’s going on Mazda ? I don’t know if we can keep driving this or not!

After tons of research I decided on the 2023 CX-5 Premium Plus in deep blue with parchment seats. This car looks and handles great. My favorite features are the Bose audio and ventilated seats. Living in South FL, I find the non-turbo motor has plenty of power and gets good gas mileage. Very quiet and smooth. Back seats are comfortable. Can seem stiff over bumps at low speeds, but handles very smooth when at highway speeds. Mazda offered 0% APR to finance for 36 months. Dealer threw in every option OTD for $37,000. Very happy with this vehicle.

I had a 22 Carbon Edition which was one of the first that model year with new transmission tweaks etc and it had some kinks in the transmission software , which i discussed in that review and at 20K traded it in for a 2023 CX-5 Premium with Bose speakers , Paddle Shifters, Analog Instrument Cluster , +50 Mile range ,smaller grill , still has 19" rims but different style . This car suited us better as we picked Rohidium White which is Mazdas only color costing an additional $599 - Has a pearl tint to it . So the vehicle was much lower key and drew less attention . We Liked that - Most of all it seemed that Mazda had spent time making sure the 6speed transmission was like silk in shift transitions , amazing really even from day 1 not broken in , the whole vehicle compared to the 22 was just , more refined , the engine was smooth even with regular gas , and the suspension was clearly in my opinion different/ better. It was solid , and firm , the whole vehicle seems to be one well put together ride - Like no other Mazda Ive driven - I like my old GT3 Hatchback from 2010 but thats like a go cart -- different animal - The CX5 is German-esque in solid handling and power delivery- giving me the sense that I knew what it would do with confidence and I needed to learn how to get the most out of it which is and was fun. Its fun to drive - lots of fun ! Pin drop quiet inside even at freeway speeds. I dislike the infotainment system which is confusing having to much stuff in one place and its confounding --I wish I had a radio with a simple dial -- yes it has that setting , but requires many pathways - yikes - Mazda builds an unbelievable vehicle interior as well - Ive had many German vehicles and I must say this is right there and better in many ways -- Its hard to believe for the $$ - Its so good that the infotainment system is forgotten - Its that good - There is nothing in its class or the next that comes close - I looked at the Rav4 - and well - you look and drive it -My big love of Mazda comes from the fact that they are a lone company that still makes a traditional car and took it to the apotheosis of engineering possible to compete with high mileage hybrids - They still make a real combustion engine only , with a real 6 speed transmission ,,,not CVT , No Hybrid , Just the real deal - and its reflected it the cost - Mazda Made the skyactive system efficient by building an engine thats built like a diesel with a 13:1 compression ratio and cylinder deactivation which you can watch on the screen - Its extremely reliable and the 2 outside pistons stop burning gas and the 2 inboard are powering the vehicle at high freeway speeds, no hiccups ,totally unnoticeable except in gas mileage which all CX5 only come in 4WD and even then I can get 32-35mpg on flat freeways and thats very good ! Some people want a Hybrid , so we will see, personally I dont think paying another 25-30K for a hybrid dosent make fiscal sense in $/mile savings overall- , Mazda may be suffering from a bit of an identity crisis , as it was once a boutique car company in which no two models even looked like they were made by the same company , As if there were designers who had free rein to craft each car as they saw fit -- Then 2013 - They all got a grill thats the same and they all have similar cosmetic traits to bond the vehicles to Mazdas brand - I think they need to decide... are we a " sports car " company or a luxury sport or luxury company ? I think Mazda needs to define itself and get the word out -- Few people are aware of Mazdas and their reputation , and now the first year they took #1 in reliability over Toyota ! Thats Huge , But Toyota sells about 2 Million units in the USA and Mazda around 300K so about a 1/10th+ as many cars - So the CX-5 is great for a two people with a dog , or one or two kids , But could be tight with 4 big adults and 5 medium would be also tight -- but I dont want it any bigger - I think the buyers dont either - Its a winner green flag to checkered flag !!! I wish Mazda would build the turbo CX-5 with a stick shift -- would sell out - If you like traditionally built vehicles without batteries and electric engines --Get a Mazda --as soon they wont have them anymore either - my opinion of course

Traded 2020 cx30 for 2023 cx5 turbo. I have driven it for 6 months and my favorite vehicle of over 25 I've owned. Today was heavy snow and with Michelin CrossClimates this vehicle was a snow machine. Had purchased a 2021 cx5 for my wife and after 2 road trips I traded in my cx3O for the greater visibility and size of the cx5 . Mazda has designed a superb AWD system and when coupled with the driving dynamics, interior quality, safety, and aesthetics of its style the cx5 is the synergistic best in class.

My CX-5 Carbon A Bit of Buyer Remorse

Purchased a vehicle for a new job I onboarded and did a ton of research on reliability and overall value in my budget range. I did make a mistake and bought this in the evening and did not realize the stitching on the leather seats is hot pink so I took some heat from the wife! Vehicle is really sleek and rides nice albeit firm but I am good with that. It was supposed to have Bose but they gave me a factory deduct which was a downer. Seats and interior are luxurious and comfortable however the seats seem a bit short in length and the adjustments do not allow enough tilt up in the front of the seat so I feel like I am sliding. It is a tighter fit interior more designed like a cockpit. Honestly is rather simpleton and the dial controls for the infotainment take some getting used to and no Sirius XM offering although I can do so through Apple Play, not sure why they did not incorporate this. The console is a big negative, it to short in length and the USB plug-ins are hard to reach. They have a very small tray holder which is pretty useless and not very deep. I can keep my hand sanitizer in it but that's about it. They should have put the USB plugins under under the dash. One item that makes the vehicle feel cheap is the fuel door believe it or not, once you unlock and open it, it is just flimsy, no drag on it. I went to put fuel in while is was fairly windy and it blew the fuel door shut, a real pain. The vehicle rides nice and it is quiet on the highway. For me it accelerates fine but i suppose if you prefer more pep, fork out for the turbo. The gun metal gray is a hot color and with black 19" wheels it looks great. I like the vehicle but there is just something overall missing for me. While the interior is luxurious it seems a bit generis in an odd way. I was in a hurry to get a vehicle to start this job and I should have taken more time to test drive others. It is a nice vehicle but again, there are little things that are missing. Plain white dash dials, nothing digital except the tiny flat panel.

A nice Mazda

The Mazda CX-5 is a well built, nice handling car. It is easy to drive and handles city streets and highways equally well. The interior is well designed with an easy to read dashboard instrument display - I have the analogue display. The seating is comfortable and there are adjustments for legroom, height, lumbar support, and the steering wheel. The cargo capacity is typical for a vehicle this size. The Mazda Connect feature offers many options for entertainment, bluetooth, and so on that are too numerous to mention. You can use your cell phone for GPS, music streaming, etc. The Mazda Connect display screen is large and easy to see without diminishing the view through the windshield. The backup camera activates when reverse gear is selected, giving a good view of the area behind the car. There are alerts for objects in the vicinity of the car - blind spots and so on. I gave this car 4 stars (I would give it 4.5 stars if I could) because I have some very small critiques. First, the break and accelerator pedals are close to each other and take some getting used to. The only other very minor issue is that there is no clock displayed unless the Mazda Connect feature is on. It would have been nice to have a separate clock display that turns on when the car is started. As I mentioned, these complaints are small ones as my overall experience with the CX-5 has been excellent. I am very happy with this car.

Biggest issue is the Mazda Paint does not appear to be as tough as other paints. Great power and top safety features, but a bit disappointed that the body is not the hard type and will dent if someone hits the fender with their car door. My only other disappointment was there no red one available and I really wanted Red!! Got the pretty carbon edition and like it very much, it just is not red. Great size if you hate parking and the safety features are superb.

I bought another CX-5, so I like a good enough. Quite ride, enough power without being forced into a turbo. But why on earth is the infotianment center not touch screen. The various knobs do the job, but fast forwarding a book on MP 3 in nearly impossible. Also the dash gauge could use an option to show speed digital as so many other do. Power heated seats are great and 2 setting memory for the seat at this low a trim is amazing and a buy reason for me.

I am a long time Mazda customer (two 626, 6, 3, and two cx-5s over 25 years) with some breaks in between different models. I just picked up a 2023 CX5 Premium Plus. Gorgeous car however a number of issues that Mazda has to seriously address. 1. At an out the door price of $41k for the Premium Plus it is absolutely unacceptable NOT to offer park sensors. Many other competitive vehicles have this feature. There are even a few cheaper cars out there that offer this feature. Very disappointing. 2. Rear heated seat buttons in the center armrest. Horrible HMI/design decision. They should be placed just below the rear vents on the back of the center console for easy access. Disappointing. 3. Lack of touch screen. It's 2022. I dig the center control dial, but touch screen is an absolute must. Come think of it, after a few months, the center dial is an outdated solution and needs to be serioudly adressed. My parents both in their mid 70's would have a terrible time figuring out this system. Really disappointing. 4. Again at $41k Mazda is charging $500 for the nav SD card with maps. Really? Luckily I have Android Auto. Question is why isn't the HUD displaying the route? No sign recognition, because of the lack of Mazda nav system. Really quite pathetic. My father's new 2023 Honda HRV in base configuration has sign recognition in the cluster WITHOUT the nav system on board. Mazda has to seriously up their tech game. Quite disappointing. Overall a great driving, solid quality car, with lagging technology and a few awkward design features. Would I recommend it? Yes, however think about these issues and decide for yourself if you are willing to live with them at this price point.

Coffee cup holder and owner's manual issues

We have owned the 2023 CX-5 five days. Critiques so far: 1. The coffee cup holder is impossible to use while driving. It is located too far back, making it near impossible to remove a liquid filled cup while driving. Mazda has no add-on product, Amazon does. I can't tell from the Amazon pictures how well their product will work. 2. The owner's manual index is difficult to use. The index has been worthless on 2 separate occasions already. In both cases, I ended up looking one page at a time before I was able to find the information I was looking for. a) When attempting to connect the garage door opener. b) When attempting to change the odometer from Km to Miles; I never did locate the information, thank goodness for Google.

Bought this car after trading in a Ford Escape. Much better handling car interior quality excellent. Red accents and blind spot warnings are a good feature. Car is quick at highway speeds. Took a bit to get used to sound system. Could not link it up with Sirius. Have to use phone but outside of that excellent vehicle.

The steering was awesome for the first 6,000 miles. Right after then it became heavy and I'm not sure why. I have the 17 inch rims. I spent 920+ on new michelin tires which have a treadwear rating of 820 (harder tire) instead of the old 280 treadwear geolandar g91As (soft tires). I then pumped it up to 40psi and the steering is lighter. However the issue remains to some extent and it's really quite a pain in the ass to drive this thing for hours on the highway because there's so much resistance. Let me tell you, it doesn't take 6000 miles to break in tires. Why was the steering so good for that long and why did it suddenly become so stiff after then? What happened?? I'm at 12k miles now and my arms are getting bigger by the day fighting this thing

Nice interior materials but stuff just not very convenient. Fan buttons are very small ,drink holders in bad position glove compartment very small as is the center console. Ride is a little stiff ( coming from a Camry)maybe it’s just cause it’s AWD and a suv. Little lag in acceleration at lower speeds. Not a fan of non-touch screen. Has knobs to scrolling thru the screens

I've had the CX-5 (red) for 2 months now. My main complaints about the car are the paint and the cheap felt carpet in the cabin. The paint is thin and not durable at all. The paint is chipping already. The cheap felt carpet is hard to clean and it's something you would find in a low budget car. My other complaints, no touch screen, entertainment controls are cumbersome and the auto-sensing rain wipers are sporadic. The wipers at times go really fast when the is a light mist rain. The climate controls are also whacky. When the control is off you can still feel heat coming through. the dash vents. The windshield fogs up quickly for some reason. The undercarriage and parts of the wheel well have felt material also, dumbest idea ever!!! Holds moisture. It should be plastic. The engine when it 1st starts sounds noisy for about 10 seconds until the oil reaches the valvetrain I'm guessing. I hope that is not a future issue. The cheap paint is the biggest let down. To do it all over, I probably would have bought a Subaru or Toyota.

No idea how this car rated so high and we made a buying decision based on reviews like Edmunds and Car and Driver. Gas mileage isn’t as good as our 2013Nissan. Might have to get out and push if we ever take it to the mountains. Leather seats show EVERY fingerprint. And the MOST uncomfortable seats that I have ever set in. No idea what the material covering the dashboard is but you can’t just wipe it off. Technology is very hard to use and manual is confusing. No touch screen-must use the dial and go through many options to make a selection-dangerous while driving. No remote start on the key fob but only in a phone app which I will have to pay a monthly fee for after 4 years AFTER I already paid for remote start on the sticker price!!! I have it set to automatically lock when I walk away. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. Car play isn’t wireless and the USB is in the console instead of in the tray where I could lay my phone. HATE the 6 speed as you really feel it every time the gears change especially when it’s struggling to go uphill. Wish I had my 2013 Nissan back with CVT which I loved. I could go on with things that I don’t like but will stop here. Will not be keeping it for 4 years. Worst car buying decision of my 50 years of buying cars!!

Over one year driving this cheap car and how I want to return it. Gas mileage averages 20, yes 20! On the Highway I got 22mph. Been windy and felt like the car was being picked up like Mary Poppins. Tried to pair car with my phone, which was not easy to do (by the salesman) and it disappeared. Only works with Apple Play, so if you have an Android, good luck. Basic model screen controls are awkward and hard to play music and navigation at the same time. Control has to be turned one by one. Some safety features are nice, but that’s about all the positive comments I have.

I bought this SUV based on reviews. Test drove it and loved the ride. Then after having it awhile I hate (yes, hate) the interior layout. The drink holder was designed for T-Rex arms. It’s right below the middle console which makes it tough to naturally grab a drink. You can’t open the door without a key fob. The auto-lock safety feature is too safe!! Whoops, forgot something in the car after you are already in the house? You better have the fob, even if it’s in the garage!!!!!! The display and controls don’t even make sense. For “safety” nothing is touch screen and the graphics are nil. That means I have to fumble around and look down (in front of the drink holders I hate) to maneuver. I am on the site looking at how I can dump it now!!!

I absolutely HATE my car. I've had it for a little over a month and if I could, I would give it back. The technology is outdated. It does not have technology that I am use to Bluetooth, Touchscreen, and Remote Start on the Keyfob. There is NO Touchscreen, you have to grab a little turn dial knob from the eighties, to switch to things. The remote start is on an app and is a joke. It takes at least a minute or two, even if you are standing right by the car, for the signal to get to the car to either remote start, lock, or unlock your car. I really hate they do not have the remote start on the key fob. Also the reminder to put on your seat belt sound gives me a headache. It is not a soft sound like others it is terribly annoying. This vehicle does not have BLUETOOTH!!! Come on, at this point I think all vehicles should have wireless charging and bluetooth this should be standard across the board. If you are looking for a vehicle with touchscreen ( I mean full touchscreen), bluetooth, an a remote start that you actually have in your hand....DO NOT BUY THIS CAR.

I have own my 2023 CX5 Carbon Edition for three months. With just a little over 3k miles making three long highway trips I can say the car ride exceptional. Averaged 31.5 miles to a gallon at 75 mph. The interior is as good as am upscale luxury brand. Love the black leather with red trim. The black wheels with dark tinted windows makes it a true sporty suv. It handles like a sports car only complaint is the low acceleration. Figured with a 2.5 4 cylinder with six speed transmission would have more power. Overall for a 31k suv it well worth the money spent and will last a long time with Mazda reputation for building quality vehicles.

I really like my Premium CX-5. Wanted to go with Premium Plus, but dealer sold the only one an hour before we arrived. The exterior is sleek, the interior trimmed nicely, and the BOSE stereo is bussin’! Only wish it had a heated steering wheel and the remote start didn’t shut off when you open the door. Bought in March and already have 18,000 miles on her. Nothing more than normal maintenance has been done. Super happy and seeing if a CX-90 is going to be my next purchase.

It fill a little roomer in back seat very comfortable.. The only thing I say being a traveling Therpist my massage bed just fits . So I miss the room in the trunk area But overall it’s been so far a wonderful vehicle to drive ..

Considered Mazda and Honda based on ratings and owners remarks. Researched and sent request to several dealers in a 25 mile radius with my requirements. One dealer responded with a deal to meet all my requirements. delighted with the vehicle in inventory, priced within specified budget and received trade in at blue book praised value. The salesman had two cars to view, was patient and well informed about the product, did an excellent job of presenting all the features of the car and the experiencing the road test. Met every requirement. Exceptional compared to other dealers...did not know their inventory, offered vehicles above stipulated amounts...slow to respond, passed off to another agent...cars are selling themselves because some sales people are below mediocre. We got the deal we wanted and are delighted!

I bought the 2023 CX5. It’s a beautiful white with white and black interior. I’ve had several problems starting with the vibration between 40 and 65 miles an hour. The strip in the roof between the passenger door and the sunroof came off twice! They told me that I shouldn’t go through a car wash because that can cause that to happen! In all of my years driving I’ve never heard of such a thing! I also wonder why the headlights won’t turn off when I turn it to off!🤔 First and last time buying a Mazda.
