Perfect vehicle if you don't use the backseat
I purchased my AWD 2017 Grand Touring CX-3 a little over a month ago now at 44k miles. After a month and 1k miles of my own put on it, I'm absolutely in love with this car. For starters, I'm a single guy at 6'2" so to clear up the sizing stuff - Headspace and legroom are excellent for me, neither an issue at all. The front seat is great, but where it would be an issue is if you're more of a football player build with broad shoulders. I'm about 190 and it fits me perfectly, but if you're 215+ or broad shoulders, front seat might be cramped width wise. Definitely not the car to get if you're hauling around a family - I have kept my backseats folded down (which allows tons of trunk room, has fit everything I needed to so far) except 1 time I had a couple 6ft buddies in the back seat and they were not exactly happy campers for the hour drive, but it was doable. Those two common complaints are certainly real, but if neither is an issue for you - this car is incredible. Interior is awesome, everything looks high quality and smooth. The tech is impressive, I haven't had a car with all that before, outside of having to pay Mazda for that software upgrade (50 bucks, no biggie) it all makes perfect sense. The exterior is awesome, mine is black on black wheels and the car looks great, excited to see the shine after I wax it this weekend for the first time. Best part about it is the driving. For comparison, my other car is an '06 Chrysler Crossfire 2 seater convertible with a Mercedes engine, and I'm not exaggerating when I say this CX-3's handling is similar to that. I live in Denver so take it up to the mountains every weekend so far, throwing it in Sport mode and attacking those winding mountain roads is so much fun, literally handles them as good as the Crossfire, it's wild. Going from an old Forester to this is a whole new world for my main car. The ride is also incredibly smooth and very quiet if you aren't performance driving and just want to cruise along. Gas mileage is 30+ even with AWD, sunroof is awesome, and the Bose sound system BUMPS. The heads up display thing took a bit to get used to, but I really like it now. Overall, an incredible machine. So long as the two big concerns don't apply to you, I can't recommend this enough. Drove a '17 Tiguan base model listed same price as this puppy and it was an absolute night and day difference. 10/10 recommend this car.

Mazda CX-3 Easily the Best Subcompact SUV
My factory warranty is about to expire, and I've had just a single problem. Early on, the blower developed a bothersome whine - not loud - on just one of the speed settings. My dealer replaced the blower and it never happened again. The CX-3 is a lot of fun to drive, but if cargo space is a priority, this vehicle may not be for you. Take the time to learn about the Mazda suite of Skyactiv technologies (there are animated videos on the Internet), before you take all your test drives. That information should help to convince you. Mazda's engineers are the best in the business.

Little Dynamo
This CUV is not for everybody. It is a driver's car for someone who appreaciates being behind the wheel. It is for the driver who likes aggressive styling and enjoys the twist and turns of daily travels. After 24 months and 12500 miles, there's so much to love about the CX3. The exterior / interior is always pleasant to look at and build quality is still very satisfying. All-whell drive system is very capable during snowy months. I-Activsense driving aids are helpful if not overly sensitive, especially the blind-spot monitor. Fuel economy is an average of 24.1 combined. Bose sound system could be better and navigation was updated once by the dealer for minor issue. Overall, the CX3 is still a very stylish, engaging, and capable CUV.

49k miles driven
Great car, loaded with goodies The back seat room is tight as expected, If you don't like little footprints on the back of the front seats, then this car is not for you! Paint is too soft, chips easily. The only issue I have had is the radio/ Navigation. The system tends to reboot on its own from time to time when the USB ports are being used. Dealer could not reproduce the problem! (Repaired with firmware update.) Update: a/c condenser failed at 42k Mazda assisted in repair paying 1k for. $ 1400.00 job Rear bearing seal replaced under powertrain warranty.

Good car except for TERRIBLE lo-beam headlights
Most comfortable car I have ever owned. The driver's seat fits me like a glove with excellent lumbar support, and I can drive 10 hours in it and NOT get a stiff neck, seized up back, leg cramps, etc. It gets good gas mileage (31.5 to 34.5 usually), and has been really reliable for the past 4 years that I have owned it. So why the 3 stars you ask? Several reasons. 1. I hate the middle armrest/cup holder arrangement. It's awful. Flimsy armrest, which, even when up, interferes with my right elbow when I am trying to put my coffee mug in the cupholder, AND, I miss having a place to store stuff in that spot. 2. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE Lo-Beam headlight assembly. Doesn't matter how expensive a headlight you stick in there, you aren't going to be able to see where the heck you are going at night, which, if you drive at night a lot (which I don't since getting this car) is a problem. The problem is how far down the road the light is cast, which isn't far. Like a couple car lengths, and that is it. It lights up the SIDE of the road just great, but I'd much rather see if I am about to run over somebody in FRONT of me than find out when I am right on top of them and completely unable to stop in time. They are, hands down, absolutely the worst, and I can't believe Mazda designed the headlight assembly in such a way that precludes being able to see further than that. It is a hazard!!! 3. Bits and pieces of the car keep falling off. Construction is not what I expected of Mazda. Great engine, but what good is that if the car falls apart around it. Every few months I notice something else has fallen off. Nothing critical, but jeez.
