Mazda Didn't Finish the Job - Road Noise

Great car! Its an amazing car, looks and performs great. I just spent $1600 sound deadening the NEW car with dynamat extreme because the road noise was so LOUD! Wonder why Mazda didn't finish the job and make it a great car off the showroom floor? They say they are competing with Audi and Jaguar but with me having to sound proof the car is proof they are not there yet. Also not so good is the Bluetooth for phone calls. It sounds OK in the car but the microphone or processing needs improvement because the audio on the other end is terrible. These are the ONLY 2 items I have an issue with. Overall the car has performed great with no issues in the last 3 years.

I Don't use the remote start. Other than that, it has been a great car. There was an oil pump issue, recall from the factiry. Promptly attentended to, and other than that, it has remained a rock solid car. It gets great mileage and has been 100% reliable. One year later still have the mazda 6, still love it. It has been a dream, the dealership here in waco rd has provided tremendous support. The mileage is superb 40+ on highway trips, 33 average around town. The 2019 has 250 go, non turbo, ours is set up with 180.

Disappointed with Mazda

I bought the 6 new in 2016 after an extensive car search and there were some things I should have looked at further before pulling the trigger. I had been driving a 2011 Acura TSX, which was a great ride, and when I gave it to my son he drove it well for another three years. There were a lot of things I liked about the 6. The car does handle well and is a relatively nice road cruiser. I have the Grand Touring model with the Heads Up Display, Blind Spot Monitoring, two tone interior. The car's mileage varies greatly from around town in North Texas where I might get the mid-twenties to the open road where I have gotten 35 and one tank while in Oregon last year I hit 40 mpg. Acceleration is smooth, the engine has been reliable and I am nearing 72000 in a few weeks. There are a number of minor issues which cropped up early. The powder coating on the wheels came off pretty much completely around 30K miles. The dealer stated there was a recall for the issue and new wheels would be ordered. (I did not receive a recall notice either by mail or email.) The wheels never came and the dealer never called. Over the next five service trips I asked about it, and was told they should be coming. I brought it up with the dealer Sales Manager and he said I should get new wheels. Then I had to work directly with Mazda and was told, that since the car now was past the 36000 mile mark they would strip my existing wheels and have them recoated, and not replaced, which had been the original comment, despite the fact I had noticed it before the 36000 mile mark. Then to add insult to injury the dealer charged me for the labor of removing the wheels and putting them back on. The head up display is actually an indicator of battery strength - it started to not come up about two months before I replaced the battery - at the three year mark. The software is slow to load at times after startup. I am religious about tires and despite having nice Michelins now on the car the wear seems to be uneven. The Michelins on my Acura went nearly 60K miles before I replaced them. I started looking this year to drop the 6 when the electronic parking brake failed not once but twice with a span of two weeks - locking the car in place where it could not be driven. Fortunately I was home both times. The sensor and the gear had to be replace and the Mazda tech at the dealer when the sensor was replaced failed to check the gear, which had corroded through at 66000 miles. The insult was Mazda tried to make me paying the towing fee for the second failure, which lead to another discussion with the dealer Service Manager. The road noise is noticeable nd the paint quality is moderate. I looked at Mazda a number of times through the years and this experience has soured me on the brand. I have decided to move on.

navigation leaves a bit to be desired, chair is not as supple as i would like. There are still GOOD. But these are minor complains. The car handles very well on average.

Wonderful, except 19' rims + potholes = $$$$

Let me start off by saying that I LOVE everything about my new car, except the 19' rims and low profile tires. They're beautiful but really impractical for Chicago roads which are rife with potholes. I've had my car for a month now and already suffered 4 flat tires, 3 pothole related and 1 from a nail. So after buying 5 tires I've decided that I'm going to buy smaller rims with regular tires. If you live in an area without tons of potholes you might be okay, but be aware that there is a risk of that. It's a very comfortable car with tons of room and great styling. I get compliments on it all the time, especially the interior which looks more like a Lexus or BMW than a regular sedan. The heated seats are warm and cozy without being overly hot even on level 3. Overall I would still purchase this car again, just with different rims.
