Slick Mazda6

I purchased my Mazda6 5 door in April and I took the vehicle on several trips. The comfort of the vehicle and ride made the trip very good. The look of the vehicle is different from the Camry or Accord -- slick and low profile. This attracted me to the car. Stereo system package (Bose 200 Wt) -- I don't feel that I have to upgrade a thing with it. Overall I am extremely happy with the vehicle and can't wait to see what Mazda comes up with in the next 6 years or so to surpass the Mazda6.

We just traded in a Lexus E300 (2000) for a new 2005 Mazda6 Sports Sedan, 6 cylinder, with all of the options. While it's not as plush as my Lexus, it is much sportier and will be lots of fun! It has a roomy trunk and the backseat IS just as roomy as the Lexus. The ride and steering are different -- more like my old Volvo 850 turbo wagon (1996) -- tighter steering and I can feel the road. I really do like this car, though.

Just reached the 5000 mile mark and not one defect noticed. Car is very quiet even with 17 inch wheels and 50 series tires, Gas mileage last week on 500 mile trip with 4 adults, four sets of golf clubs and luggage that all fit in the trunk was 29 mpg U.S. gallon or 35 mpg. CDN Imperial gallon. Cruise was set at 70 mph, air on and strong headwind both ways on trip. The manual shift mode on the auto transmission is perfect for highway passing and great fun around town. My car has no rattles or squeaks and makes Camry's and Accord's look boring. Handling is excellent.

The lesson car I learned to drive in was a Toyota Corolla, with extra brakes that the instructor could use. Nothing too special. The first time I got behind the wheel of my new Mazda6, I was in awe. It's fun to drive, with an enthusiastic acceleration. The maneuverability is great too. This car has a lot of personality; it's eager to please, and craves speed.

When I was shopping for my last car, it came down to the 6 and the Pontiac G6. The G6 was a nice car, but the exterior looks and the availability of a manual transmission made the Mazda more appealing to me. The dealership I bought the car from had the worst customer service I've ever experienced, but I love the car.

Handling compares favorably with the RX-7 I used to have. Heater is incredibly fast. Get leather with heated seats and you will never touch cloth again. Makes my 80 mile daily commute very pleasant. Some say it's small, but I prefer a tighter, sportscar-like cabin. Most Americans like to sit in a cave when they drive, I guess.

I test drove Accord, Camry and Altima before I settled down with Mazda 6. Camry is comfortable, but boring. Altima looks good buy but feels like a junk inside. Accord has the best interior but looks ugly. Plus, for a couple thousand bucks less, I can get more options with Mazda 6 than Accord. My Mazda 6 is so fun that I will take it out simply for a ride. The 17" alloy wheels make it look better - definitely a sport car!

When shopping for a new car, I wanted something sensible yet fun to drive. I must have driven at least 30 different cars. Each time I walked away feeling that it was ok, but something was missing. Then I drove the "6". I fell in love. I walked away feeling like "This is it! This is what I've been waiting for." I bought my 6 two days later and a year later I still feel the same way.

The car has an athletic look, drives awesome, especially with the 5 speed manual. Handles quite well, and smooth and quiet on the highway. Quality is not quite there as with Honda or Toyota; that's because Ford is the parent company. I had a loose left side defroster vent, one of the badly designed wall nuts for the cargo net pulled through and broke off, cheap materials for headliner caused separation near where it's supposed to be tucked in under front maplight housing. Haven't figured how I'm going to hide that yet. Headlight aim was off - just little things. All in one month, but I still love the car, I fixed all the things myself.

Overall this car drives and handles very Honda like. Great fit and finish for a car in this class. The clutch is a little too grabby while shifting from 1st to 2nd and sometimes 3rd gear when car is cold. If not careful (under emergency acceleration), the clutch will give off a burning smell (probably needs to be made of a better/harder material). My local dealership has had a couple of complaints on this same issue. It just may be a Mazda thing. Other than that, wish it had at least 15 more horses, and more space for "do it yourselfers" to change the bulbs in the headlight assembly. After the warranty is over, no more free bulb replacements!

I bought this car new almost 5 years ago. Just turned 70000 miles. 4 cylinder 4 speed automatic. Have had no major problems. Transmission shifts a tad hard from 1st to 2nd when cold, but dealer found nothing wrong. Just learned to baby it for the first 1/4 mile. I find I use the manual shift mostly, especially on back roads when I want to keep it in 3rd gear, and not let it go to 4th gear. Overall very pleased.

What can I say. I bought my Mazda6 for the fuel economy (I had a truck...BLAH) and how surprised was I to find out that this 4 door sedan was a sports car in disguise! Aside from the roomy interior and the great handling this baby comes loaded with a BOSE sound system, an in dash 6 disc CD changer (I don't know if that is standard) and power everything. All my friends are jealous and I absolutely love this car. If you're looking for a fun car to drive that looks great and is light on the wallet (on the lot and at the pump) then the Mazda6 is the way to go. ZOOM!ZOOM!

This is a great alternative to a Honda Accord EX (I own a 2001 Accord EX also). What's not to like about this car? Build quality has been great. A 5 speed, 16V DOHC 4 cylinder, 4 wheel discs with ABS, Michelin Pilots, moon roof, Bose stereo, front, side and side curtain air bags. A very nice, fun to drive vehicle. Fuel economy HWY: 28 MPG City: 24 MPG.

Although I just got this car I love it so far. It's exactly what I wanted except I could not get a 2005 model with a sun roof. Otherwise, the sport model looks amazing. A nice blend of sporty and refinement. Given its rather taught suspension it rides very well, is quiet at highway speeds and offers respectable interior room. Acceleration is very good and braking seems to be decent.

I had previously owned 3 large SUV's. Didn't know how I would like a small car. Got in the car and have never looked back. I feel very safe in the car and love the sporty look and feel of this car. This car also takes curves and turns wonderfully. Only dislike is the powder on the wheels from the brakes? Love everything else. Wouldn't hesitate to buy another.

I went to over 15 locations to find a Mazda 6 in my area. Now I know why they are so hard to find. This is one of the best mid sized sedans for the buck! I found a beautiful Sonic Blue 2005 Madza i sport 6 sedan and it was a major upgrade from my 94 Olds Cutlass Cierra to say the least. The handling of the Mazda 6 is very good and the speaker system is above average (No Bose). My mother drives an Acura TSX and she wants to trade with me. Bought at 57000 miles. Now at 63000 miles.

The car is excellent. The only complaint would be the low end acceleration with the 5 speed transmission. The top end is best. MPG is better than expected; highway/city combined driving averages 22-26. Now if Ford would follow its sister car maker! Or take notes.

After a year of ownership, I traded it in for an '06 MX-5. I wanted to love this car, but only liked it. Interior rattles started after a few thousand miles. I've tried to like FWD cars, but still hate them, even after this car. The engine is powerful, but you don't feel it until you reach higher revs. Comfort and space are fine. Interior's a bit cheap - too much plastic, hard leather. Great interior storage areas. Long-throw shifter doesn't inspire. Poor pedal placement, which makes heel and toe driving very difficult. It got me around for a year. But I sensed too much Ford influence in the (lack of) build quality. With that said, cost/performance is a relative bargain.

Poor performance and reliability. New 6 speed constantly needs to be recalibrated. Ticking noise from valves requires valves to be retorqued. Throttle assembly went out, and now there is a knocking noise coming from the engine between 700 and 1200 rpm. Not a purge control solenoid as told by dealer and manufacturer. Let the buyer beware.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my car! With all leather interior, Bose stereo, and choice of fully auto or manual shifting "on the fly" this car rocks! It is just as nice as a mid priced Beamer and WAY nicer than any Honda. Everyone that gets into my car is surprised by the quality and the "cool factor" it has. Plus with side curtain and back side curtain airbags standard on this car it can't be beat.

I chose Mazda again because I had owned a 1980 Mazda 626. I had the car for 6 years and never had a problem. This car ( the 6 ), though, is another thing altogether. I bought the car in Dec 2002 and I STILL feel like I GET to drive it! It's fun, extremely nimble, sporty and has never let me down. The interior is leather with a Bose system that sounds fabulous. I have a moon roof and a spoiler and I still get compliments on this car! It will be a long time before I trade this baby in!

This is after driving 1200 miles. Wanting to replace my '99 Honda Accord V6 Coupe, I drove the Mazda, and a Pontiac G6. The Mazda was clearly the better automobile. The steering has a nice weight and feel to it. The car handles like a sports car, yet the ride is not jarring. The leather seats are very supportive. I love the 6 speed automatic and the ability to shift myself. And the color, Lapis Blue Metallic, is stunning.

I tried an Altima, an Accord and a Mazda 3. I originally wanted a Miata but opted out because I needed more room. While in Mazda dealers I was always struck by the exterior and interior design of the Mazda6, so I test drove it and loved it. The handling is fabulous and the comfort of the leather seats is as good as I've experienced in any car at any price. The fog lamps are the only ones I've ever had on a car that were truly effective. The road feel is solid. It's great on long trips. Defect-free as delivered and still no defects of any sort have shown up after 2 months.

I bought this car two weeks ago. I traded in my F-150 FX4 4x4; gas mileage was the main reason, but I wanted to still have a stylish looking performance minded vehicle. I'm frugal not retired. A bland Toyota or Honda just wasn't in the cards. The Mazda 6s was the best bang for the buck and with all the standard features I have no regrets!

This car is the best car that I have ever purchased. It is a blast to drive and the 4 cylinder really gets the job done, especially at high rpms. The design inside is very well thought out and sporty and it is the best looking family sedan that you can buy (the Camry is nice but bland, and the Accord is just ugly and bulky looking). This is the perfect blend of a sporty car and a very capable family sedan. I have had no problems with it whatsoever and I love this car!

After coming out of a Ford Explorer and into a sports car, I was amazed at the agility and response of the 6. I also have had the privilege of driving a 2004 Ford Mustang over the past year and actually enjoy the Mazda6 even more. The handling is superb, gripping the road even during hard cornering, and it will get up and go when you need to pass. The 160 hp in-line 4 feels more powerful than it sounds and doesn't disappoint. Zoom-Zoom is an appropriate slogan for this well rounded machine.

I love this car. It handles just as well as my older BMW 3 series sedan, and is much much better in the snow. So far, I have taken it through 2 snow days, and it handles great. I feel very safe in the car. I also am pleased with the way it handles in the rain. The extra features like the stereo (Bose) and the interior air bags were reasonably priced compared to other vehicles in its class. The styling is also great, it's very unique looking and I get compliments all the time. I have the spoiler and side moldings that I think make the car. If you are looking for one, I feel they look much better with the spoiler.I would definitely buy another Mazda6, from a different dealership though

As this being my first vehicle, it was a good choice, especially with TCS (Traction Control System), I've had it for almost a whole year and mine has 68,500 miles. The only problem I've had with it was the A/C, which doesn't blow very well, and a terrible creaking noise coming from the engine area when I rev it or turn on the A/C. The brakes are amazing, they have to go through pretty bad situations in my area due to bad drivers. The build quality of the interior is pretty bad, the fuse door and some of the unnecessary bits and pieces have came off and I've had to put them back on while driving, which can be dangerous. But overall, this car has been one that I'd keep until it's inherited.

I've owned this car for quite a while now, and I have 32,000 miles on it. It's been in the service shop 8 times over the past year. Twice to re-machine the brake rotors, twice for a fan control module, and the rest of the times for interior squeaks and rattles. I am not impressed with the quality of the car, or the service at the dealership. I liked the car at first, the styling, power, and stereo made me a happy consumer. My experience has left me cold, though.

Handling and performance of the vehicle matches the body style as the car is very fast and handles very tight and responsive. The all leather interior with heated seats is also much nicer than I first anticipated.

This is my third Mazda in a row. I've had amazing reliability (obviously since this is my third and I put about 40,000 miles on the car per year) and I'm so happy with this one too. Each Mazda gets better and better. Options on other cars are standard on the Mazda and the price remains comparable to other makes. Nice! My fuel economy on my other Mazdas has always been better than manufacturer estimates and so far it's the same on this one so I'm concerned about some of the comments I'm reading about less than expected gas mileage. I'll wait and see on that.

In looking for a car we test drove several cars, Nissan Altima, Nissan Maxima. The Mazda 6, V6 was by far the best value for the money. The Maxima was my preferred choice until I drove the Mazda 6. It was readily apparent that the ride of the Mazda 6 was comparable to that of the Maxima. It is a smaller car, but had all the amenities that the Maxima had. It is an all around winner for comfort, exterior design, interior design (it is awesome!)and safety. For anyone who truly enjoys driving cars, the Mazda 6 is an utter delight! I absolutely adore this car!

Mistakenly bought this car for my wife, and wished I'd given her my car and kept this one for myself instead! This is truly a driver's car. Bose system makes your ears dance. I found myself out in the garage more than once just listening to a new cd. Honest. And once you back it out of the garage, let the fun begin! Ford Duratec V6 has a nice exhaust note when pushed. The platform/suspension sometimes feels like it was designed for the lighter 4-cyl, but the V6 will pin your ears back if you hit your corners at mid-range rpm! 6-speed transmission geared a bit odd between 1st and 2nd, but sweet between 5th and 6th on road trips. And 3rd/4th gears make you over-eager to pass anyone.

Just picked up my 5i Hatch last weekend. So far am loving it. Have the 2.3 5 speed. The V6 accelerates quicker, but the 4 felt more balanced. Better mpg, and hopefully lower maintenance will be a bonus. The space offered by the hatch is huge, and it looks great. Practical, sporty, and fun to drive....what a combo. Price was right with incentives too.

I traded in my 2004 Honda Accord for My Mazda6S. I took A beating ON TRADE-IN BUT IT WAS WORTH EVERY PENNY. I look forward to driving my Mazda every chance I get. I'm a car FREAK and nothing compairs for the money. Best Advise: BUY ONE!

This is an awesome car. It is fast, handles well, and has way more features than Accord. It's the best all around car in it's class. Plenty of interior space to fit myself, my wife, and 3 kids (two still in carseats).

I've had Hondas, Toyotas, Nissans and various American cars. This is the best car I've ever owned. I bought one for my wife too. My Mazda came fully loaded with leather, 6 CD in dash, heated seats, moonroof, wing, ABS and traction control. It is fast, great- looking, deceptively roomy and has a great sound system. The 17" wheels hold the road like a train on a track. The 6 speed auto is a blast to manually shift. I come from the muscle car era and my wife only drives automatics. If you are looking for the best blend of a family car and a sports car at a great price, look no further. The 5 year 50K mile bumper to bumper with free roadside assistance is icing on the cake. Zoom! Zoom!
