great car horrible navigation system and traffic

leased new awd rx350 and went on 2k mile trip to colorado. the car is great, quite and very comfy. the navigation is a joke. traffic shows green at all times even if your in super bumper to bumper traffic. the green lines are so big that it overwhelms the map and has all the surface streets painted green as well. its hard to tell where the highway is when your in a city area. the arrow that indicates where the car is will drift off the road your on and float out into the non-street area. panning the map to show a different view is next to impossible. this being my first lexus shocked me how bad this is. my 8 year old acura nav is light years ahead of this. i wont lease another if there is not major improvments made.

Lexus. RX 350.2020 New Touchscreen-Useless.

Drove RX 350 for 17 years and one NX. Worst Navigation System on the market. So bad I carried a Garmin to put on the Dash in case it couldn’t find where I wanted to go which was most of the time. Switched to Jaguar F Pace for the Touchscreen. Now looking at BWW x5 for the Nav System. Lexus RX 350 is a great quiet riding SUV and excellent quality. Well its 2020 now and not much has changed. Yes its a touchscreen but you can’t use it once you start driving. The passenger should have access to it at least so you can change your destination or look for something. Even at a standstill you cant search for anything outside of 5 mikes -(8 km). Asked sales person to find me a certain golf course. Couldn’t do it unless he typed in the whole address, but it gave him all the courses within 5 miles. How useless is that? Sure you might use apple car play if you have data, but some of us retirees don’t need data anymore. Plus if you use it on the fly it’s illegal in many states and Provinces North America. Lexus Dealers say its a safety thing, but they are the only ones doing it. If you use Apple or Android car play on the fly then you are breaking the law and safety concerns as well. So where is the safety? Lexus- if you can’t do it right then don’t do it. Have a look at Mercedes new MBUX or BMW Nav’s. You are years behind everyone else. Sorry but I still can’t come back to you. Have a 2020 Mercedes GLE on order now

Overall a Great Car But Can't Find Its Way!

This vehicle has been running very well, so far. Good braking and decent power on acceleration. It has been very reliable, however Lexus recently announced a problem where engine could stall at high speeds. This recall has been done and repaired. One other issue has been going on for years with this model. The GPS loses its way. The navigation system belongs in the junk heap. Not only does it lose its direction but sporadically decides to spout off with beeps and displays of every upcoming road. And just as suddenly as it started it abruptly stops that nonsense. This Nav system is giving the Lexus reputation a bad name, as it has been failing as mentioned on previous model years as well. If Lexus doesn't resolve the Navigation issues by getting a better system they will start losing business, including mine! This is my fifth Lexus RX350 and they all were outstandingly reliable and never broke down except once, when I hit another vehicle! Update: GPS continues to be a thorn In my side. Most recent experience was when it told me I had arrived at an office building I was looking for, but all I saw were private homes. Its arrival notice was premature by about a half mile. It also continues to pop up with beeps and displays upcoming roads. Some were more than 10 miles away from where I was and then it suddenly stopped spouting off again. Very frustrating!

Navigation is a nightmare

If I would have new about this navigation in advance I would have held onto my 2010 Lexus rx350 which I loved. Every time my husband and I go anywhere with my new 2019 Lexus rx350 there is always tension using this navigation that I’m at the point I don’t even want to ride in this car with him. I loved my old Lexus using my garmin. I wish I could get rid of this car and buy something else. Lexus should have a recall and come up with the new technology as other companies did.

RX 350 very good SUV but Navigation is not good

Overall nice vehicle and easy to use except lousy Navigation. Totally pathetic. Seems Japanese engineers forgot their American Customer for ease of operation. Found to be very confusing and slow. Driving comfort is good. Advanced safety features are very useful. Bright lights at night times help senior drivers. Also found controls for Radio operation bit complicated. Few items can be improved- storage compartment is bit smaller than our older Lexus ES 300. Same true for RX 350 leather seat not as comfy as ES 300. Feels less cushion?

Have had the 2019 RX350 a year now. It has 7500 miles. One of the nicest cars we have ever had. The ride is great, smooth and very nice. Like the rear cross traffic alert feature. Like the auto mirrors folding when locked. Like the blind spot monitor. Don't use the lane assist, makes to much noise for no reason. The fuel pump recall that they don't have a fix for, The auto wipers and heating controls are less than desirable. One night on the way home, the disyplay on the navigation screen went out while driving, only did it once, once to many. The power is good. The auto widshield wipers are to slow or to fast. The heating and ac controls are to complicated. You have to go into the program to change top and bottom air flows. Blue tooth goes on and off, works then does not work, does not seem to like two users. It is the top model and does not have the surround camera, remote start app is less than desirable and should not cost you more every month to have it. Both side view mirrors should tilt down when you back up. A $55,000.00 vehicle should have remote start standard. We leased the Lexus with the thought in mind to keep it after the lease was up. Probably won't now. UPDATE: We leased a 2019 Lexus RX350 in the summer of 2019. We bought it at the end of the lease. It now has just under 30k miles on it. Except in some ways for the 2016 Infinity QX50 we had before the Lexus, this is the nicest vehicle we have ever had. Great styling, power, ride and responsive. I always look forward to driving it. The only issue it had was a bad driver seat rail that they replaced under warranty. Other than that it has been great. I would purchase another lexus again. I do feel much of the recommended maintenance is not necessary or worth the cost. Changing the brake fluid at 30k, air filter every 30k, cabin air filter every 15k and fob batteries every 15k is to much. $220 for a oil change and tire rotation is a little extreme. I do feel the overall inspections is a good idea. We had a 2016 Infinity before this and it had some better features including more power. The styling was not very good. They lost our bussiness when they went to a four cylinder engine. UPDATE: We are almost four years into this vehicle. RX 350, Starting out as a lease and being purchased during covid, Overall she has been great. One of nicest and best vehicles we have ever owned. 20' wheels, all wheel drive and almost all options available that year. Just a joy to drive, Luxury, performance and handling are excellent. The CD player going out at 24k miles was a bummer, realistically not sure why it was ever needed. Could have had it repaired under warranty, then probably another piece of junk would be installed. I do feel some of the required maintenance is made up just to increase the dealer service profit. Like changing the brake fluid at 20k miles, cabin air filter,at10k miles, Engine air filter 15k miles. This comes from me doing most of the maintenance on my vehicles growing up and knowing what is a possible scam. I do believe in doing all the maintenance, at least what makes sense. The only other vehicle that came close was our 2016 Infinity QX 50, it had better performance and many other better features. It's ugly roof line, bug eyes and losing the 3.7 engine in later models was the end of it for us. The Lexus with just under 30k miles, now we are trying to decide on keeping her or maybe getting something new. Probably another RX 350.

There are pluses and minuses

I like the lines of the RX 350. I like the color scheme I that I bought: cashmeres ext., parchment int. It is very comfortable and quiet. What I was surprised by is that I expected a smoother ride. Even if I deflate the tires a bit, there is little difference between this car and my daughter’s 2010 Highlander! But there are two real negatives to the RX 350. 1.) It’s a dog off the line. Surprisingly little pep. 2.) The technology is decidedly Not user friendly. My other daughter has a 2019 Audi A5. The technology is far superior in her car. But the color Audi has limited color schemes and one cannot beat Lexus for reliability. (Just don't buy one from Stevinson Lexus of Lakewood if you live in Colorado!)

Drive the Rx 350 ; road isolation is the best. Drives smooth . We got the regular 18 inch wheels ( softer ride preference) apparently NO EXTRA traction on 20 inch wheels per the dealer ( they just look better). Don't buy if you are going to deliver amazon orders/drive for uber. The car is a diva : does not like to be rushed. Navigation screen is big size, no apple car play yet. The mouse/controller is a bit stiff and the cell phone holder is frankly OBSOLETE; we have way bigger phones now. Seats are very supportive and the premium package gets the best features for the money. Love the heated steering wheel. IF you are NOT a tech buff the center console has the regular switches and knobs I just like older cars); Did not buy any "protection plans"; you don't need them IMHO. ECO mode is best in city drive to get decent gas mileage , acceleration is modest; again it does not like to be rushed. Our 2 top needs were: reliability and comfort; we got both in this super comfortable vehicle; You can turn a knob to engage F sport mode to get a "sports car like acceleration" at the expense of fuel economy: you pick

This is my third lexus. Because my old ES350 and RX350 made me choose lexus again. My first requirement for the car was comfort and quiet. My old lexus kept very good, but this 2019 RX350 made me feel very disappointed, the internal gap was very big, the noise control of the car was not good, when the speed When there are more than 50 Miles, there will be wind whistling noise. When the speed exceeds 70 miles, it feels like the window is not completely closed. I contacted lexus and they told me this is normal. This is very abnormal, it is not like a 50K car. Also, when the engine speed reaches 2K, vibration noise will appear. Seriously, this will be my last lexus, I am currently looking for a new car!

The car looks great and hey, it’s a Lexus. But the infotainment system is a joke, have to go through menu after menu. The seats are terrible, most uncomfortable drivers seat. Acceleration is good in sport mode. MPG is not good. Handles mushy, like driving a big marshmallow with no toad feedback.
