I drive 90k Porsche Cayenne. Everythings're very comparable to my car, off course leather, dash, stereo system you'd expect to be not as nice as mine. I only prefer not to use touch screen - I don't want finger prints on my screen - trust me on this. My wife's car is 2010 RX450H. I prefer drivability of the 2017 NX200T over her car. This is simply because this car is much lighter. Major improvements on all controls over 2010 RX450H with this car. I highly recommend this car to anyone who's market for the SUV of this size. She rides great on snow.

Stepping down in size but up in overall experience

We got rid of our 2013 pathfinder and went back to Lexus. We are so glad we did. The pathfinder had random quality issues and several large recall episodes. We looked at many new compact suvs and decided to go back to Lexus. We owned an RX before and it was a wonderful car. The new NX is sporty to drive with the most comfortable front seats we have ever sat in. The truck steers very well and feels very planted on the road. So far it is getting great gas mileage as well; 26-28 mpg. The interior is very nice with Lexus normal quality fit and finish. The exterior is sporty and attractive. The rear storage is on the small side, but that is the only thing we wish was different.

Different for what I thought I'd get from Lexus

This is my first Lexus and like most people I wanted my next car to ride higher. I looked at this size SUV across the different brands and since my other leased car was about up, I took the NX200T. I have a love/hate relationship with this car since, for everything that bothers me, there is something else that I like. First and foremost the car is noisy. Not sure what car the reviewers are driving but this car is loud on the road...get on the highway and it's turn up the volume to cover road and wind noise. I came from a Genesis and that is a quiet car. Second, is the amazing amount of hard plastic in this car. Everything from the elbow down is hard plastic - there is even areas on the dash that surround the speedometer. Unacceptable in a car with this price point. How about some rubber paint at least? The switches for the windows are cheap, the carpet is the same as in my mother's 2017 RAV4 and that is not carpet! The seats are great. Heating and cooling on the seats work great. The base stereo actually sounds really good. Headlights are great. Put it in sport mode and it really has a little kick to it. Disappointed there has been no follow up from Lexus on how I like the car. That's pretty poor!

**UPDATE 11/12/2018** Edmunds just sent an email asking for an update so figured I’d go ahead and do so. My initial review below was given after having the car for one month, and we’ve now had it for 19 months. Unfortunately I can’t say that anything has improved, as those drawbacks I noted in the first review still persist. In fact, I would even downgrade the vehicle for technology, specifically the voice recognition/Nav. Besides constant problems with voice recognition either misunderstanding what you say or not understanding all, the entire Nav system is ABYSMAL. I’ll just say “GOOD LUCK” if you want to find a POI that is NOT in your immediate area of travel...if the POI is say 100 miles away and you don’t know the address, you will NOT be able to find it using the Nav POI search function. This happened to us multiple times, and each time we’d have to use the “call” button to call Lexus Destination Assist, and those reps and others at Lexus have stated this is BY DESIGN by Lexus, that they’d prefer you call them and THEY will search for your desired POI, and then THEY will send that destination to the car’s Nav. Of course they say this is for “safety”, that they’ll do the work as you drive. How preposterous...first, a good, functional, voice recognition would render this moot, since there’s not much easier/safer than just telling the system where you want to go. But Lexus wants us to move backwards and instead have to call them in order to enter an address...and oh, did I mention that after the free first 12 months, Lexus wants to charge an arm and a leg to continue the service? What a shame that the way they’ve absolutely botched the technology has made us rule out any future Lexus/Toyota purchases. My wife really liked the new Camry design so a few weeks ago we went to check them out, but once we saw the same flaws with remote start, Nav, etc. still existed, we totally dismissed any thoughts of buying one. xxxxxxxxxxxxxx We've had it just over a month...we didn't get the F-Sport because that trim does not have ventilated seats which my wife wanted as it is a nice feature. It's her car that she uses primarily for a fairly short commute (10-miles one-way) and running kids around for sports, etc. She loves it while it's me who isn't a big fan. I will say I like the looks, it has high-quality interior, and no complaints performance-wise. But there are a number of shortcomings that I did not expect in a Lexus, without going into full detail, these shortcomings are: MPG (mixed touted at 25, we're only getting 20.5 with very gentle driving exclusively in Eco mode)...Only a single analog clock (no digital in a Lexus???)...Radio presets (for Sirius/XM, only saves station number, no text as nearly every other mfr does)...Limited door/cockpit area storage (have MUCH more in a much smaller C-Max)..but the worst/most idiotic features are REMOTE START (everyone at dealership claimed not possible with keyfob, 100% FASLE, there is a way to do it, but regardless if using keyfob or ENFORM smartphone app, engine shuts OFF when you unlock w/ keyfob or open the door...STUPID...every other remote start "knows" if the keyfob is there then it's okay, car not being stolen and OKAY TO KEEP RUNNING)...And the TRACK PAD, more useless/frustrating/distracting than the early days of BMW iDrive...technology is supposed to make vehicles SAFER, not distract you with a stupid, overly-sensitive "mouse" design that constantly has you clicking on something you didn't want, only to then have to click your way back, WHILE YOU ARE DRIVING.

I think that Lexus missed their slogan. My NX is approximately 2 1/2 years old with 18,000 miles. The vehicle has been flawless, as far as dependability. However there are major flaws. The AWD system is worthless, it drives one front wheel and one rear wheel. It fails a diagonal test(see u tube).I should have suspected that in the beginning since Lexus does not label the vehicle AWD. So you really cannot differentiate between FWD and AWD unless you look under the vehicle. The fuel tank is too small, you visit the gas station often, if you do a lot of driving, a little over 300 miles to a full tank at 23mpg combined. When the low fuel light comes on, there is may be 3 gallons or more reserve. Too much reserve. The mouse pad is flaky. The tailgate is also temperamental, of which I Have complained with no solution. (problem cannot be duplicated at dealership).A little noisy for a Lexus. A little more power would be a great enhancement. 275+, an enjoyment! I did notice that Lexus has finally packaged all safety equipment in one package. 2016 NX was lacking in that department. Going back to AWD of which is important to me. I can walk into most competitors showrooms an drive out an AWD SUV. I have to special order a Lexus NX with AWD. Why? I really and truly hope that something is done about that, the RDX looks mighty competitive for 2019. My feelings are simple, Lexus Is a top of the line vehicle, it should play that part, otherwise one could settle for a RAV4 at many thousands less. Lexus, my 2004 XC70 passes a diagonal test, shame on you.
