Slow, bad handling, fuel hungry

People thinking about this vehicle that are coming from: Mercedes or BMW vehicles - DO NOT DO IT, I am going to repeat myself - DO NOT PURCHASE this vehicle if you are coming out of Mercedes or BMW vehicles - you will be super disappointing. It's super slow, with very questionable handling, fuel hungry (that I knew coming in) but who wants to average 14.2MPG of mixed driving when they say it's supposed to be at 16, not to worried about that - it's just ridiculous how this thing drives, it's sloppy, super slow, I will give it 2 stars for quality (liked it) but driving experience is horrible all the way around.

This is a terrible car to buy if you intend to drive more than two people. Literally only the driver and who ever is riding shot gun are comfortable. I’d be surprised if anyone over the age of 2 years old would be comfortable in the third row of seats, and no one over the age of 2 can easily move into the third row. The second row of seats is only tolerable, but don’t even try to have a drink that’s not in a sealed bottle. This has to be one of the most ill conceived SUVs ever designed.

Uncomfortable

Bought a ‘22 Premium plus new and within 2 weeks never before back pain started. The seats are low flat and the frame for the “ventilation” fan jams in the back with very little padding. The seats are also bucket style which hurts your hips. I absolutely love the vehicle but had to trade it due to the crippling back pain. If it fits you then it’s the best, but these seats are known for poor comfort.

Best vehicle I’ve ever owned

I actually own a 2019 GX. I shouldn’t have posted here but it’s basically the same vehicle as the ‘23. And it’s the same as when it the model came out in 2010. Yes, my info screen is comically outdated. But it gets everything done I need done and the 23 is updated. But the tranny and the 4.6L V8 have been the same for 13 years. And they are bulletproof. It does not drive like a huge SUV. The power response from depressing the gas pedal is perfectly linear, no lags at all. The transmission shifts seamlessly. The 4 wheel drive gets you anywhere. It has a full size spare underneath. I bought it used 3 yrs ago during COVID. Only had 8500 miles on it. Oil changes and tire rotations since it left the factory. Nothing ever goes wrong with these vehicles. They will last 300-400,000 miles with regular maintenance. Yeah, it hurts to go to the gas station. I burn premium unleaded religiously. I have friends who say that is stupid since it’s a big dumb naturally aspirated engine and several of them burn regular unleaded with no issues. I’m not sure why Lexus tuned it to need premium and they ought to let the dealers retune it. But what I’m spending on gas I’m saving on maintenance and peace of mind. This vehicle is staying in my stable for good. I hope my grandson will drive it someday.
