I recently purchased a 2014 CPO Lexus GS350 F Sport AWD. I wanted an AWD car that was supremely comfortable, reasonably quick, fair on gas, fun to drive and unique. The GS is all that and more. Having owned previous luxury marques such as Acura, Infiniti and a Lexus ES I didn't even bother cross shopping the Cadillac CTS, BMW 5 series, the Audi A6 or the Mercedes E350. Although fine automobiles in their own right my #1 criteria when shopping for any vehicle is reliability and low cost of ownership....and they fall short in that category. That is why I own a Toyota Tundra and not a Ford F150 or a Chevy Silverado, and also a Honda Civic and not a Ford Focus or Dodge Dart. The GS is undoubtedly the nicest vehicle I have ever owned. The 2014 has the toned down spindle grill (compared to the 2016 and other new Lexus'), a high quality interior, great handling and the most comfortable seats I have ever had in a car. The engine is quick to respond, the shifts are crisp without being jarring and the suspension offers great handling while providing a comfortable ride. The steering is fairly precise but a little on the heavy side. There is a sound enhancer under the hood that sends a sweet melody into the cabin when you nail the accelerator. Reminds me of a V8. The Lexus premium audio system is superb. It sounds as good or better than the Mark Levinson system that was in our ES and much better than Acura's ELS or Infiniti's Bose. The huge infotainment screen is top notch as are the gauge readouts. Some have complained about the mouse-like controller for all the functions but after a few minutes of getting familiar I find it quite intuitive. Gas mileage is decent at around 27 hwy / 21 city. Our previous car was a 2014 Accord Touring Hybrid. Loved the 45mpg when gas was $4 a gallon but at today's prices 27mpg is not an issue. I do have a couple complaints with the car, although minor. The first is the road noise from the tires. I can't for the life of me figure out why Lexus builds such an outstanding car and then put on those sorry Bridgestone Turanza EL400s. The entire Potenza/Turanza line of tires are horrible. Doing a little research I have found that the cure for these noisy, hard riding tires are the PIRELLI CINTURATO P7 ALL SEASON PLUS tires. The reviews for these tires are off the charts for any sports sedan. Even better than the much lauded Michelins. I can't wait for these tires to wear out so I can order a set of the Pirellis. The other complaint I have is with the apparent thin paint. My car is Obsidian black and being a CPO Lexus they repaired all the stone chips before selling the car. At only 19,000 miles when I purchased it there are at least 8-10 small repairs on the hood. My Tundra is a silver 2010 with 70k miles and has maybe 3 chips. My '05 Civic has 4 or 5. I owned an Obsidian black Infiniti for 50k miles and it had maybe 3 or 4. I test drove and bought the Lexus on a rainy day so I didn't actually notice the chip repairs until it's first hand washing. Being somewhat OCD about my cars I was a little upset. I hope the repairs were the result of an over zealous paint technician trying to cover up every slight imperfection and not an indication that there is an ongoing problem with the paint. Only time will tell. Besides those 2 complaints I love this car. We are planning a 3 week tour of the western states and can't imagine a better vehicle to take on vacation and enjoy the driving experience at the same time. Other than those 2 minor complaints I am certain this car will provide years of satisfied driving. Update 8/16/2016 Although I have only driven the car about 3,000 miles in the last 8 months we are leaving for Florida soon and will quickly add 2,500 miles. So far the car has been great. I have found that the comfortable 16 way driver's seat becomes a little uncomfortable after a couple hours of seat time. There are no lateral springs on the bottom cushion, just a layer of foam in a steel pan. I purchased a thin memory foam pad that I use on long trips. I was able to repair all stone chips with a razor blade to shave off all the high points. I then used a Porter Cable DA polisher to remove all the car wash scratches that came with the car. It is standing tall and I love driving it. I can't imagine a better road car than the Lexus GS 350. It's the perfect blend of luxury, comfort and performance. My one suggestion is not to buy new. Even though it's a Lexus the depreciation is pretty bad the first 2 years. Either buy a Certified pre owned or if you have to have new, lease. Update 2/17/17 Still an awesome car with tremendous depreciation. MSRP in Aug. 2014: $59,850, CPO price when I bought in Dec. 2015, 19k miles: $39,900 +tax., today's trade value with 26,000 miles: $26-$29k. Daggone! I guess I should have waited and bought it @ 3 years old ...lol! Research by me has revealed that the GS depreciates more rapidly than all other Lexus models. Update 2/21/18 - Sold the car.

2013 GS 350 F Sport - Most fun to drive!

I took my time buying in December 2012, actually spending 4 weekends test-driving the A6, 535i, E350, and GS 350 F Sport. I bought the GS 350 F Sport ... it's just simply the most fun to drive. To top it off, it had all the luxury-sports styling & character, & options & features that mattered most to me. 8 months and 6,000+ miles after, it is still exhilarating to drive this car, and it continues to get comps from kins, friends, and colleagues. Only reason it has relatively low mileage is that I have 2 other cars that also need to be driven. I look forward to many years of reliable use, minimal maintenance cost (for oil and filters, tires, break pads) & excellent Lexus center services.

NEW 2013 GS350 - DEFINITELY A VAST IMPROVEMENT

Took delivery of my new GS350 yesterday with NAV, Blind Spot Alert, Park Assist Sensors, Mark Levinson Audio, Luxury Package, etc. Test drove the sport model but did not like the metallic interior or tires that could not be rotated. Traded my Mercedes E350 and find this new GS more refined, higher tech features, less harsh ride and reduced road noise, higher quality interior, more comfortable seating, and handling and responsiveness far superior to Mercedes and BMW's I have owned. Had a 2001 GS300, but the only similarity to that 2001 is the GS insignia. Technology is unbelievable and the interior resembles the cockpit of of a Gulfsteam Jet. Worth every penny I spent on it!

Having just retired, I no longer will have to make extended road trips. So I decided to trade my LS460 for a new GS, and save a little money in the bargain. What a good idea!! This new GS is beautifully styled on the exterior and features a roomy and comfortable interior. The redesigned dashboard is a masterpiece, including the giant infotainment screen. Eighteen-way power seats are supremely adjustable and comfortable--I love the thigh support extender and side bolster adjustments. Performance is peppy, cornering secure, and gas mileage reasonable.

Picked GS 350 over A6 - tough by perfect choice!

I bought a 2013 GS 350 after agonizing between it and the A6. In fact, having previously owned two Audi’s, I thought my mind was made up. After too much research, I was still intent on the A6 even though the GS 350 had risen on my radar. I recalled seeing the new 2013 GS at a car show and being blown away by the cockpit and that cool display, but that was about it. I still wanted the German feel and Audi engineering/design. When I finally drove a loaded A6 30T Prestige I was a bit underwhelmed. I can’t explain why – it was beautiful and had lots of grunt off the line. Maybe my expectations were too high. My mind verified all the good things that I had read in reviews. But I was left feeling empty – and at that price point, I wanted to feel more - in my heart. Then I test drove the GS. It immediately wowed me in comparison. Again, I could not explain why, but it felt better… it spoke to my mind and heart. And oh, how that engine growl sang to me as the RPMs shot past 4,500 on the tach compared to the silence of the A6. So this sent me back to my research – exhaustive research – trying to quantify the differences so I could make my purchase with confidence. It was tough since I had such brand loyalty to Audi... and had been looking forward to getting back into one now that my kids were old enough not to trash it with spilled milk and gummy bears. But I kept hesitating. In the end, and after test driving another A6 I went with the GS 350. The deciding factors were clear… it was fun to drive, had impeccable build quality, was luxurious and sporty (lux package, thank you) and had a reputation for industry-leading reliability. It was a few pennys cheaper too (in purchase price and cost of ownership)… And I figured that it would be a rather high mileage car when the time came to sell it, and would clearly be worth more than a high mileage German car thanks to that Lexus reliability. Now that I have been driving it more, I can better quantify the differences over the A6 and why I love it so much. It feels better as a driver’s car, tight and hunkered down… it drives small... and being able to choose Sport + mode turns it into more of a speed-racer than this dad with a past could become bored of… stomp on the gas and the sound is visceral. I’m a driver’s driver, but I also live in the real world spending most of my time commuting. And I look forward to commuting with this car. The GS is my sanctuary and elicits passion, not just in the way it drives, but in the way it surrounds you in sport AND luxury. The seats are the best I’ve ever experienced and this is one reason the A6 left me feeling unloved. The A6 seats are flat and uninspired. The GS seats w/ the lux package hug me… literally. The leather and slightly retro/slightly futuristic cockpit in black with linear espresso wood makes me feel ensconced. And the big display is just wow… The A6 felt a bit sterile compared to this car. It lacked passion for me. So in the end, I am reluctant, surprised and totally satisfied GS 350 owner.

Daily Driver Long on Adrenalin

For middle management guys like me, who go for cars like this, you've to stop lying to yourself. I'd love to say max power, max torque and racing handling are my top priorities. They're not though, they can't be. Reliability and comfort have to occupy some top spots. Before I enjoy the daily adrenalin shot that I get from my 2013 GS350 F-Sport, it had better start, emmerse my senses and not leave me in a cloud of steam on the side of the road somewhere. I promise you that this car can handle everything and anything that you're going to want to do in the real world. Your bravery will run out and your consideration for not crossing from spirited to reckless driving will kick in well below the limits of the F-Sport. Great track day car? No. But I'm going to work a lot more often then going to the track. I just want to enjoy the hell out of the daily commute and dude, it just doesn't get any better in this price range. This car makes me feel alive, proud, motivated. I can see it from my 5th floor corner office and it calls to me all day long. I can't wait to drive it and I get a goofy smile every time I get in. Ignore the track teleme-trickery and get the car that soothes your brow as well as it lights your fire. When you click into Sport + mode, this car will strain at the leash and bark out a multi-stage exhaust note that is 100% primal scream. When your talent runs out, it will make the decisions that you failed to, and ensure that you live to tell the tale to your dude-bro's AND get your daughter to her volleyball game on time. I promise, you will not be disappointed in this work of engineering excellence.

2013 GS350

I have the new GS350 for 2 months now, and it is excellent. Like most of you, I have a busy life. My previous BMW 3 series was just a disappointment, poor ride quality, stiff steering, maintainence problems. I felt like all I had was a car with 4 wheels and a BMW badge. The GS just elevates the driving experience to a whole new level. I just feel totally pampered inside the car, with top quality material, leather, wood, and technology. The ride and steering is softer than the BMW. But I much prefer it at the end of a busy day when I am dead tired. I no longer have to struggle to turn the car out of a packed car park because of a stiff steering wheel.

F-Sport is the best 5-Series competitor ever...

The GS350 F-Sport is, in reality, the best "5-Series" ever built. It is very tight, has precise weighted steering, and handles like a BMW--or even better-- in every way. It is the ultimate sports luxury sedan...but you need to get the F-Sport version and drive it in Sport+ mode (the most aggressive mode), which decrease gas milage somewhat. However, unlike the 5-series, the GS350 has the interior quality and fine leather of a $100K+ car (I'm not exaggerating--especially with the cabernet interior), and the build quality and long-term reliability and service that BMW or Audi can't match. Btw, I've been been driving German sports sedans for years, and this Lexus beats them all.

Anyone who drives this car while shopping among the A6s, 535XI, M37, trust me, you'll pick the Lexus. You must get AWD F Sport version. It's silky smooth on the highway and blows by other cars with ease or, slip into Sport S+ mode and drive is tight, handling precise, grip is secure, and engine sounds and performs, in a word, awesome. I traded in my '07 GS350 AWD and I didn't think I would get another but F Sport is a much more aggressive, yet refined car.

I've had my AWD GS for about 3000 miles and what a fun car. I have the luxury package build with Mark Lev and the sound system and infotainment are amazing. The black wood and semi-aniline leather are so rich. The Sport mode is awesome, really takes the driving experience to e next level. I traded my '10 5 series and good riddance! I went back to the Lexus dealer to put some air in my tires and car wash and service treatment is far superior. I cant believe I put up with bmw as long as I did.

Tested BMW 535XI, E350 Benz, Jaguar XF, Acura TL and after nearly buying the E350 Benz, landed on the 2013 Lexus GS. The moment I sat down in the drivers seat, after trying all of those other models, I was going to own the GS. The technology, comfort, screen size and logic before I even put it in to drive were amazing. Once I took it out on the highway, I felt like I owned the road as it hugged the lane and I hardly had to touch the steering, but when I did, my god! I still haven't found out where the limit is on cornering speed is. I am getting a solid 27mpg with mostly highway driving as I commute 50 miles each way. I couldn't imagine owning any other car...

This car is amazing. I test drove BMW, Mercedes, and Cadillac. My second favorite was the Cadillac CTS. However, while those cars had great strengths, they were also burdened by heavy weaknesses. The Lexus GS 350, on the other hand, is the total package. The infotainment system takes some getting used to, but that's about the only weakness. The car handles great, has a smooth, powerful engine, and is quiet at speed. I like the styling, but of course, that's highly subjective. It has a wonderful interior with all of the features one could desire. If you're shopping in this category, the GS deserves a strong look. Update: I've had the car for two years. I'm still loving it. I have no complaints and have had no problems with it.

Bought this GS new in 2013. Yes it takes premium gas, but for a reason. It has a high performance engine that moves! It is the most reliable sedan we have ever owned. Replaced brakes and tires, that is it. I am trying out newer Lexus models, and the technology is a mess. My navigation works perfect in my GS. I am being told to get a newer Lexus without Navigation, and this came from a manager. You can use your smart phone and there are applications that work better. Manager even said Garmins work better. Toyota is not paying attention. So I guess I will keep my reliable, awesome 2013 GS350 longer. It has 80,000 miles. It is a keeper. I will run this one a few more years. Find a used 2013 GS-it will still be running like a charm. Toyota should look back at their successes.

after checking out audis and bmws, I settled on the lexus. for one thing, I hated the interior room of the german cars...they are just too low for me. second, they carry a very big price premium, which doesn't really seem warranted. so, I ended up coming back to my 'go to' brand - Lexus. this car is good looking - albeit pretty large, handles well, and is quite well appointed. the major problems, like others with the Lexus brand include a lousy transmission with poor downshifting, rather soft handling, and lack of control on hard acceleration. this car is very easy and comfortable to drive. the system controls, which are operated by a mouse, are distracting, but can be mastered after a long learning curve. driving also requires a bit of a curve. the car does not like its economy or sports settings...best performance is at normal. it also doesn't like regular octane gas...you have to pay for at least mid grade to get any sort of decent performance and mileage. this car is a real bargain compared to the german competitors....its typically a third less expensive used, which is the ideal way to buy one...overall, a very dependable and fun car to drive, if you are into something on the mid luxury level

Lexus' long list of accolades - luxurious, comfortable, reliable, solidly built, great resale - never included exciting ... until the new generation GS. This beauty can go toe-to-toe with the best of the Bavarians and then some. The tried and true V6 churns out power to spare, the vastly improved suspension hugs the road like a proper sports car should, all of this while wrapped in a cabin as well-appointed and artfully crafted as a six-figure Bentley. I've had my GS for about a year (it has about all the options except the Cold Weather Package and, sadly, without the Mark Levinson system), and I can say without hesitation it's the best car I've owned, including 3 BMWs. While the Bimmer 5 series is evidently more adept in the hardcore performance arena of straight-line grunt and skidpad adherence, the GS' total package of luxury, performance and rock-solid build quality is unmatched among the lux sports sedan segment. I do wish the shift points were a little more precise (a nit to pick, for sure) and, as everyone else who ever used Lexus' infotainment interface has said, that mouse thing is a nuisance.

I have had the GS350 F Sport for over 5 months. I wanted something relaible and sporty. I had 2003 G35 2 door 6 speed manual rear wheel drive for 9 years since it came out. I had kids so I needed more room. At first wasnt crazy about the front grill but I compared it to the C350, BMW 5's and Audi 6 's series cars . The lexus interior was the best - I have the meatallic finish with the F sport. What sold me on the car was the test drive - after the drive the handling, braking, agility was far superior to that of Audi,BMW or Benz. I am still finding all sorts of gadgets and surprises even after 5 months.

About me: I tried AudiA6, BMW5S and MB Main use commuting to work. I now own the 2013 GS 350F AWD Once I sit in the car and the seat positions around me like a mold I feel like Im commuting in a perfect mix between a Race car/Millenium Falcon. The car is responsive in the normal mode and more aggressive going into the S+ mode. There is something for everyone in this car. If I feel aggressive in driving there is a button for that S+. To me its the perfect combination of comfort, sport and modern technology. It feels complete. Even balance bet HP and MPG is just right. A few xtra horses would be nice but prob wasted on most of us. Lexus Service - PERFECT, others not even close.

I bought mine certified from a dealer. It is my second car. My first car is a BMW 335i. The Lexus is roomy, soft, reliable. Well-made inside, though the quality of BMW materials in my opinion is still better. The car has many options that you'd have to buy separately in a BMW. You get a lot more for your money with a Lexus as opposed to a BMW. I've owned 3 BMWs, so I have something to compare to. The Lexus is not a sports car by any means, certainly not compared to a BMW. But, it is an excellent balance between a boat and a sports car. In 5 years of ownership, I've changed rotors and pads once, and changed the oil. Meanwhile, my BMW has a maintenance budget of its own, even though it is driven only on weekends and otherwise well-maintained, never abused.

Found a great deal; 2013 GS-350 w/ luxury package and preferred package. 26k miles, $31,750. Could not be happier. 18 way adjustable seats, adaptive suspension, very quiet and very quick. Got a beautiful red metallic with black interior. Miss the SHAWD of the RL but love the quiet poised ride of the GS, cannot believe I saved > $30k in a 3 yr old car, pays to shop around, looked for 4 months before stumbling onto this deal.

I have mixed reviews on this car. Let me start by saying that this is my 3rd lexus, and up until this point I have been a huge proponent of the brand. I think in the past they have produced a superior product. That being said the GS 350 has some of those same characteristics. Superior performance, acceleration, comfort, handling and style. The downside to the model deals with the power locks on the doors. Each door has its own actuator that locks and unlocks the doors when shifting into drive, and with your door lock hand held key. Apparently Lexus used sub par materials in the actuator. This causes the actuator to fail prematurely. I have had 2 door failures in the first 70k miles. The repair cost for a single door is over 600 dollars. Needless to say my lofty vision of the brand has taken a substantial hit. There are some reviews as to why Lexus has not done a recall to fix this issue, apparently they do not view power door locks as a safety related item. very sad. I will no longer be a proponent of the Lexus brand due to this issue, and to their deciding that the premium brand that they are does not matter with regards to fixing it.

To be fair I'll start with the only bad thing I hate. I don't like the "so called lifetime" transmission fluid supplied with the vehicle. I'm skeptical of claims stating that any vehicle fluid will never break down. Heat and friction will triumph over time and destroy the protective properties of any fluid-even synthetic. To be objective my wife is the original owner of a 2002 Lexus ES 300 with close to 300,000 miles and that transmission fluid has never been drained or flushed. The 2002 ES 300 dipstick says it never has to be changed under normal driving conditions (the transmission may last even longer if the fluid is/was changed regularly so you decide). The rest of the car is FANTASTIC and the 8 speed AISIN transmission itself is a gem in my opinion. I love the rev matching and V8 sounding exhaust note in Sport mode. In Eco and Regular mode the car is very smooth, quiet and steers effortlessly. The power from the V6 engine feels stronger than other 8 cylinder engine cars I've owned. The acceleration even at high speed feels as though it will "never" end. I keep the fuel under a half tank but above a quarter tank, removed the donut and carry a tire plug kit and keep my trunk empty all in order to save weight. These weight savings have allowed me to clock an UNOFFICIAL but satisfying to me 4.8 second 0-60 time. My plan to add lightweight rims, a carbon fiber hood with new springs and struts and delete the sunroof for more weight savings should make this already more than potentently fast car slightly faster. I even exceeded the advertised limited top speed of 142 mph in manual mode without a tune or chip. I wasn't able to max the car out but I've seen YouTube videos of these cars going OVER 160 mph STOCK!! Maintenance is a breeze and if you are mechanically inclined you will be able to do most of the maintenance yourself such as the spark plugs, brake fluid exchange, etc. which reduce the cost of ownership. Owning this particular Lexus (as well as many other 6 cylinder engines mounted in the same manner as the GS 350) results in lower maintenance costs than most 8 cylinder Lexus vehicles as well as the ES 300 series. Most people think that my Lexus is brand new due to the quality of the paint despite the fact that mine is 6 years old. So the leather on the drivers seat is beginning to wear thin but then I'm over 220 lbs. All of my friends who are my weight and over have drivers seats which are wearing no matter what car they drive. My wife's 2002 ES 300 seats still look brand new. So I think the leather in the GS 350 isn't to blame for leather wear but more so the heat and friction from big @$$es. If you can find one with all of the maintenance records and is in excellent condition after an inspection please buy a GS 350 EVEN if it has "high" mileage. Mine has over 96,000 miles and it drives EXACTLY the same and still passes emissions as when I bought it brand new.

Bought my 2013 GS 350 F Sport in 2014 with 28K miles. Now have a little over 60K miles and have had zero issues. The car handles great in all modes and conditions. Exterior and interior styling are best in class in my opinion. My only complaint is a rattle that I can't seem to get fixed and a bent wheel from hitting a pothole. Fuel economy isn't as good as expected but at almost 20mpg for an AWD sedan with 300+ hp it's worth it. Highly recommend this vehicle to anyone looking for a reliable and yet stylish luxury/sport sedan.

After 1 year of owning a 2011 BMW 535i xdrive, I found it very numb and boring. The steering had a dead spot that got annoying and the transmission turbo lag was irritating. The car wandered and did not stay planted on the road and was choppy at highway speed. It was the most disappointing BMW ever! I traded it in for a beautiful 2013 Lexus GS350 F-Sport and I could not of been that happier! I love the GS. It is more livelier, sportier, sharper outside and inside. and has a better ride control with the AVS system while steering is amazingly more direct than my BMW 5! The technology inside makes the 5 feel a bit dated. The remote touch is easy and sensitivity can be adjusted to preference.

I just took delivery of my "Liquid Platinum" GS350 and I am loving it. I have gotten a few thumbs up, and lots of "how do you like it?". We had recently purchased a M37 as well, so my wife and I are really able to compare the sporty versions of Japans luxury contestants. The Lexus retains a sporty presence without a harsh ride, and the six speed transmission delivers right-now power. The engine reminds me of a sport bike audible note, while the M37 has more of a Harley growl.

I have been wanting a lexus for over 12 years and i always bought reliable cheap cars. back in 2011 I bought the new ford explorer limited and i loved that car especially with all the options it had, but once i got rid of that car and leased my GS I knew I made the right choice. This car runs smooth, it feels like luxury when you drive it. The exterior looks sporty, it accelerates quickly, the brakes work perfect especially the way I brake I am a woman driver. LOL The only thing i would improve upon is the electronics. The sound quality for the stereo is lame and the radio looks cheap. I love the larger navigation screen but it takes a few times to get used to the mouse. Enform is great

I have this car in F-Sport. This car has everything you would ever want in a luxury vehicle. It has real materials such as leather and aluminum trim unlike my BMW that came with "pleather". The engine runs smooth and everything on the car is well built and reliable. This is my second Lexus GS. I regret buying anything other than Lexus.

Traded my 2007 Lexus GS 350 for this one. Bought this one new and have had it 9 years and 2 months. It is loaded with everything except F Sport. Really enjoy the Mark Levinson upgraded stereo. Logged about 112K miles. Other than routine maintenance (oil, tires, 2 batteries, windshield wipers and brakes, etc.), the Levinson stereo amp is the only thing I've had to repair (~$750 in 2022). It has been incredibly reliable. I budget to buy a new car every 7 years, but nothing new from Lexus or other other higher end cars wows me enough in terms of style, comfort, reliability, and price to trade this car. I truly enjoy owning and driving this GS. I made a 6-hour round trip nearly every weekend for the first few years I owned it -- and it's the most comfortable road trip car I've owned. It is not the sexiest or quickest off the line, but it sure is comfortable, reliable and fun to drive in Sport + mode. I'll drive this one until the wheels fall off!

Great Chassis Terrible electronics

Leased this car after Hyundai Genesis as I wanted a more engaging chassis & I certainly got strong capable handling. Ride, handling power mostly very satisfactory. On the drive-line I would caution that the engine drives like a 4 cylinder in many ways. Acceleration is a function of waiting for 1-2 downshifts all the time as the torgue is limited. Standing start acceleration is impressive but is not that easily accessible while driving without 2 downshift and the transmission is sluggish on downloads leading to some frustration and then over-reaction by the car. I HATE the terrible 1990 technology in the dash and much worse than the Hyundai. iPod integration, NAV performance and route management, radio presets are so poorly done on the Lexus that it limits their value. Most everything is many extra clicks to do anything and then still works badly. Steering wheel controls poor. Phone integration is very poor with address book sync meaning phone numbers only so business contact list with addresses do not show up in the NAV. (Address book entries must be done manually) Voice recognition is no better than cars from 2000. Nav system reports no such address on a number of occasions and then my Android phone takes me right there. I then click with the Lexus NAV at the address I've now arrived at and it reports the correct address it just won't navigate to it! There are many odd design choices like the car beeps when you get out if the headlights are on and set to auto or the sun-roof is in vent position. Older iPod shows up as USB & then says no songs so I had to buy a new iPod. Front seat drink holder block controls, or silly joystick takes up much of center console, or small hard to use glove box that can break items as you close the door. Sun roof is noisy and has no smart controls like Genesis did, so in vent position to open you must close vent with one control and the switch to 2nd sun roof control to open but no click detents so you have to hold the control for 3-4 seconds vs a click like the door windows have for auto-open etc. Nothing horrible, just older kludgy designs in many places compared to other car companies. Great driving car, but you won't get much value out of the technology. Look carefully at drive line behavior, partial throttle downshifts etc, and NAV system / how the radio works. After 39k Pure city mileage is about 17, mixed about 19, pure freeway 25-30, does not seem to matter how I drive super gentle or brisk... Update at 44k, about the same. Summer tires lasted an amazing 45k so alignment is easy on tire wear. Still biggest day to day issue is drive line works too much like a 4 cylinder engine and since the transmission does not like down-shifting moving through traffic requires planning much like an old turbo design, no power for a while. Car really doesn't need eight gears and this motor. Since car is not agile or happy on a really tight mountain road and is more of a GT type sports car, thus better to have a motor with good torque and six gears especially since gas mileage is on the low end. Sun roof has developed a rattle in turbulence and front end a squeaks like an old Chevy needing a chassis lube but likely the dealer will fix these issues.

I replaced my Audi A6 2010 with this car mostly for Lexus' reputation for reliability. I loved driving the Audi but it had too many maintenance issues. In terms of driving feel and design the lexus is good but not as good as Audi IMHO. Had the car for 2 months so far and hoping no maintenance issues come up in the future. I commute about 25 miles per day in mixed highway city and am averaging 18-19 mpg. No appreciable difference when using econ mode. This reviews probably sounds negative but I do like the car alot - just a little peeved by the small issues.

I bought this GS off lease as a CPO with 12K miles and drove it daily for 6 years without any problems. It was comfortable and reliable, especially on long trips. It accelerated into traffic flawlessly. It also was maintained by religiously by the local Lexus dealer. If I had a complaint, it was the rear seat legroom. We traded it only because we wanted an SUV, otherwise I would still be driving the GS. Lexus made a huge mistake discontinuing this model.

I just purchased my 2014 GS 350 F sport and I’ve been loving it. It’s a great quality car with great luxury and comfort. I bought the car used without 45,500 miles and it’s been amazing so far. As long as you keep the 5,000 mile maintenance intervals then this car will last years. I love the way it looks and the technology aspect. Listed below are a few things I don’t particularly like but can live with: front cooled seats don’t work as food as they should I can barely feel any air. The car could use a little more torque as it feels really heavy to me when accelerating from zero. Finally when I connect the USB cable, you are unable to play music from the Bluetooth on your phone. You have to switch to the USB option. Overall I love this car and have been really enjoying it.

I bought the car used with under 30K miles and have 49K miles on it now. I tested the car before I bought it and immediately I noticed the driver wheel well occupying a good portion of the left leg room. I can no longer stretch out my non driving leg when I drive like in my 2002 GS. The navigation screen is impressive in size but not very user friendly. The AC isn't user friendly you have to use that mouse for many of the functions. It takes some getting used to the mouse and the voice commands. The interior has some rattle noise coming from the front speaker as something sounds loose in there. It's out of warranty but I have to have that fixed. My biggest complaint besides the driver comfort and navigation was I just had the brakes and tires changed and the brakes are squeaking and tires are not smooth as before. This was very discouraging. I'm taking it back to the dealership to see what the problem is. Mine is not an F sport and I read where the brakes on those can be squeaky and there was a recall. Overall if you can get past the issues, it has good power and handles well around curves.

The car is fun to drive. It has power and performance and good handling, but I could have got similar performance in less expense cars. I'm sorry I did not buy the Volve S60. The option killed me and I lost control with the gimmicks the car had instead of concentrating on the true values of the car. The car is way overpriced. The options are way overpriced. I wish I bough the Volvo. The wife liked this one.
