It grows on you... big time

I've never driven a hybrid before, but have owned a lexus before. In my previous 2008 IS250, if you touch the gas, it jumps. Quick off the line. But I also got 20 mpg. You don't buy a CT200h for power. This car eases into speed from a stop. Hence the excellent gas mileage. What no critic that I've read has revealed or maybe didn't notice, is that once you get up to speed, even 30-40 mph, especially in "sport" mode, the car responds and accelerates SURPRISINGLY well. As well as my old 200 hp IS250. If I need to pass a car on the highway, and go from 50 to 65, this car moves well. It feels more like 200hp when you're accelerating at speed. Not to mention the comfort and handling. A+

When car shopping there are 2 cars in a persons mind: The ideal car that appeals to their emotion while tugging heart strings, and the car that's the logical, practical choice. This car falls into the latter category, which is no bad thing. Compared to the MB CLA, BMW 320i, and Audi A3, the CT is hardly a standout. But rest assured it'll far outlast any of those 3 in reliability and with lower maintenance costs to boot. Its interior is well laid out, and it possesses the greatest front seats in the business. The media system is simple to use (an easy thing to mess up in a car these days) and the premium audio system is pretty good for a non-branded setup. The Bluetooth streaming is very high quality too, while the interior materials are good for the category, with soft touch stuff where it counts. Its ride (I have the F-Sport with the firmer suspension) is a little harsh but never brittle. It's a controlled tightness that allows bumps into the cabin but takes the edge off each time. As an added plus, the CT can be had for thousands below sticker due to its lower demand, a benefit often overlooked in car reviews. If there's one big drawback to the car, it's the speed, or lack there-of. This is a slow car, no two ways about it, and it doesn't want to be rushed. Thankfully, the engine is well isolated so you won't feel like you're in an economy car when entering the freeway. Luckily speed is the CT's only dynamic downfall. In the hills this little hatch can hold its own when the going gets twisty. Steering is numb but razor sharp and laser precise. The suspension has hardly any role either. The Sport Mode doesn't make the car any faster, but rather sharpens throttle response and weights up the steering for a sporty feel, useful for freeway or canyon use. Power issues aside, the CT never feels like a detached, isolation-pod hybrid whose only purpose is to suck the joy out of its owners in exchange for better savings at the pump. The CT200h is a solid car for anyone looking for solid entry-lux transport in the city. It lacks the pizzazz of its German brethren but is more practical and logical for long term ownership. As an added plus MPG does actually hover around its EPA ratings, and ginger driving will yield near a consistent 48 MPG (I've never gone below 44 MPG myself).

CT 200h w/Nav (2014)---Fun to Drive---

A lot of small to mid-sized sedans (Buick-too tacky interior, Mercedes-gas mileage, Mini-Cooper- too small, Mazda3-good hatchback) were test driven. In the end, the interior styling, comfort, small size (for city parking) and gas mileage benefits swayed me to this vehicle. It is used for city driving and a very long weekly commute. As you can imagine, in the city I keep it in sport mode and on the highway it goes into fuel sipping mode. It is very comfortable on long drives and spirited in the city. Works perfect for my purposes. The difference between sport and fuel sipping mode is remarkable. Also, it doesn't feel "small" when sitting behind the wheel.

Just got my 2015 CT F-Sport with navigation. I LOVE it. Great mileage, comfortable handling, and fun to drive in sport mode. I usually drive in Eco mode for the fuel economy which of course, is not as peppy but is excellent for my long commute. The car offers plenty of power unless you have excessive road rage or are used higher hp. The interior is beautiful and I really recommend the styling of the f-sport with the black roof and sexy alloys. Tons of extra features that are a bonus when you purchase a luxury vehicle such as keyless entry, push-start, voice commands, i-Phone integration, bluetooth, and so much more than I'm still learning about. It's an unusual car in that there is almost nothing else like it: small hatchback, great mileage (and my definition of great is not 30mpg! averaging 44+ and loving it!), luxury vehicle, all at a relatively reasonable price point. Love

My mindset while getting this car was that its not going to be as fast as my G35 coupe or my RX350 SUV. I needed a car that was good on mileage for my commutes in the New England area and had the style and technology I would love. I got the 2014 F-Sport edition in the Ultrasexy... I mean Ultrasonic Blue. It gets over 40mpg combined which is great! It's 100% Made in Japan. Yes, I still think products made by the Japanese are still far superior than other products made elsewhere. There aren't many f-sport CTs on the road right now. (I guess its because of the huge price tag for a hybrid)

We leased this car, love the MPG, hate to give it back next month! the seats are very comfortable for my back, which normal vehicle seats really bother my back and hurt my sciatic nerve. I drive 15 hours to my second home in this car and I find that these seats offer me wonderful support with all the various ways you can adjust it. It doesn't have the neat little pull out seat portion that the NX of the same year had, which might be a great addition to long drives. (for passenger). I love the heated seats, love the fake leather used, very luxurious feeling and easy to clean. Its absolutely great on gas and i love only putting 20 bucks in the tank. the cons to it are the "sportyness" of it I guess. It is stiff and not luxurious feeling in the suspension. you do get somewhat road noise unless you have the wonderful sound system on. the headlights are sort of odd, in that you don't get a FULL shine, it's sort of cut off, unless you have the bright lights on then it's great. I wish this had roof racks to haul a surfboard or kayak, the smooth top is very nice looking but not utilitarian. This was our first Lexus, coming off of an Audi Allroad, the Lexus has had zero issues and no recalls or anything. I like the low tire sensor, it went off one time and wouldn't go back to normal, and a check up at the deal resulted in a very clean washed car and the sensor light going back to normal, at no cost. Never had to replace the tires, and only a few oil changes. We have no complaints and are going to consider another Lexus for the new vehicle.

I was shopping for a hybrid 3 years ago to replace a gas guzzling SUV. Loved the styling of the CT, didn't want to get a Prius (I had just bought one for my wife). So I took the plunge. LOVE the CT. So much so that I just replaced the 2011 with a new 2014.

March 2025: Finally had to replace the 12 volt battery after 10 years. Thank goodness for AAA Road Service. One of the Tire Pressure Monitor Sensors had to be swapped out. Didn't do all 4 at the same time. September 2023: New owner of Lexus dealer is discontinuing their Mobile Maintenance service : ( Our 84-month Extended Warranty Plan expires in 2024. We will look for a local mechanic in San Francisco instead. Driving to the East Bay Lexus dealer an hour away doesn't make sense. Car has only 45K miles and been flawless through all checkups with this plan. March 2022: Bummed with Enform the onboard communications application for road service. Just got notified that as of October 2022, Lexus will no longer support it because of the 5G wireless network. Their system doesn't work on it and there was no option or fix provided. This is very disappointing. September 2021: Had to replace a backup reverse light myself. The first part to replace on the car, not bad. September 2020: Running like a charm. Finally replaced the tires finally with Michelins all weather for the west coast road conditions. With the Covid shelter in place haven't put many additional miles on the car since working from home is the norm. Dealer rotated tires and changed oil last month with their mobile service. Next scheduled major service will happen in Q2. No problems or issues whatsoever. September 2019: Worry free driving with regular dealer servicing. No surprise repair bills and peace of mind. Replaced rubber windshield inserts on my own. Will probably have to decide on new tires by the end of the year. Love the car too bad it has been discontinued. September 2018: Went on a summer road trip between San Francisco and Eugene, OR. Car performed well, 40 MPG, and comfortable for 9 hours each way. The driver seat adjustments helps as we switched positions between driving and riding shotgun. Listened to audio books through the music system and the cabin noise was quiet even at 70 MPH. 1 year update March 2018: Car runs perfectly. Had two services performed by dealer. Oil change at 6 months they came to my home. At 12 months they came by to pick up car and provided a loaner and work done in 24 hours. Really enjoying the comfortable ride, great mileage per gallon, and not having to go for gas fillup every week. Sad to hear Lexus will not continue with this model in 2018. Reliability, durability, fit & finish, technology and 40+ mpg sold us on this over the Prius Hatchback and V models we test drove. With a 5' tall driver they couldn't reach the hatchback on the Toyotas to close them. We thought with the Lexus brand the buying and post purchase customer experience would be as positive. Rather it has been inconsistent and requires me to have follow up individually with each department. Having the Lexus Certified Pre Owned 161 point inspection, 6 complimentary services over 30 months, and the extended 78 month warranty gives us confidence to many trouble free miles and a reduced Total Cost of Ownership. Update 9/08/17. Have had the car for over six months now and it still drives and feels like a new vehicle. Had the first of six complimentary maintenance services performed at my home. Based on the dealership's VIP program they send a Tech out to do minor service and will also provide a loaner care when major service is performed at the next 30K interval. Based on the Tech's recommendation the tires will have to be replaced in the next 6-12 months. They came with Michelin's and I'm researching whether or not to get Pirelli's or another brand. I love this customer convenience factor for service as the dealer is located over 35 miles away and with Bay Area traffic takes at least one hour or more of road time each way.

Nice car with the Toyota reliability and the Lexus luxury. Did a lot of research on-line and thought this was the car for me. Although I was looking for a sporty, economical commuter car, the Lexus CPO warranty sold me. Decent car but with extremely small back seat and leg room. Except for an infant in a car seat or a small child, I don't think may larger kids or adults would be comfortable. I liked that hatchback feature although the storage area is small. Nice features and really like the estimated mpg. Decent interior features and accessories that you would expect with a Lexus. After test driving the 200h, then the 300h, ended up buying the 300h for the extra luxury and comfort on my 100 mile/day commute.

Upgraded from a base 2010 Prius Much more comfortable and a lot prettier. Less cargo space but great commuter. Engine compression issues. Lexus offered me 5k as a trade in before quoting me a repair price and research showed this had been happening to several of people-so hey knew about this issue. Bitter taste in my mouth since this car has been maintained at the dealer since I got it.

Bought this car at end of 2014 inventory year and at True Car "Good Price" recommendation. This car is and F Sport Premium trim level but now, 6.5 months into 2016 Private party resale is a measly $24,000.00. That is almost $23,000 off our purchase price. NOT HAPPY!! Aside from that, this car is a great city car and very good road trip car. Turning radius is so good that I can almost turn around on a two lane road. Lots of room in the garage too. Acceleration is poor but adequate and we have averaged almost 43 mpg over our 27,000 miles. Not bad. Cargo space even with the back seats folded flat is not adequate for road trips but we managed two trips to Florida jammed tightly with two Shi Tzus and luggage in spite of that. Difficult. Car gets lots of compliments, most often from some kid on a skate board but just the same. I can almost wash the entire roof from one side because the car is so low but it gets lost easily in the parking lot because it can hide behind something as small as a Volkswagen Rabbit. We have learned to make sure to remember what row it is parked in. Except for anticipating taking a beating when selling or trading, we give the car a "B" mostly for good looks and economy.

I bought a brand new Lexus Ct200h in August of 2014. Loved the car till January when crackling and rattling was heard in the dashboard. Two months later and several visits to the dealership and was finally told that the rattling is a "normal characteristic" of the car. I have documentation that says that the cold weather is a cause for the sound. Am now in step one of Lexus arbitration process. Hoping for the best but not expecting it. Should anyone accept rattling in a brand new car especially a luxury car?

The MPG probably isn't as high as 41 and you definitely have to fill up before 500 miles. I was told you wouldn't have to fill up for 500 miles and it only went 300 before the first fill up. It has a tiny gas tank and it only costs $20 to fill it up. The seats could be cushier but the interior is very nice. I am getting heat put in the seats next week for $900 (the seller paid half). The passenger door sounds tiney when you close it. Overall.... I am extremely happy with it but wanted to state the things that didn't pan out as stated. No car is perfect but for the price this car comes very close!

I've had my 2015 Lexus CT200h Fsport for 3 months and absolutely love it. The car and dealership were great. WARNING: I was told that I could purchase a bike rack hitch (the car is too little to pull anything) so I purchased the car and now find that no where is there a bike hitch that fits it. I just want to help anyone thinking of buying this car NOT to expect to be able to use it to haul their bikes. I tried UHAUL, Lexus parts and Lexus Customer Service for U.S. I'm hoping if they get enough requests they'll make the bike hitch so we can buy it!!!!

The car handles well, and it is beautifully designed. I thought the Navigation system in my 2012 4Runner was easier to use and had more options, and the mouse is more distracting then the touch screen. There are NO cup holders in the back, which I found odd. For the price, it's a luxury vehicle for a good buy, but I doubt I would purchase another. I may be moving on to BMW in a few years.

I have the 2015 Lexus CT200h, this car is awesome. It's sleek, elegant, sassy, classy and sporty. Well-designed car. Prius engine with luxury features and interior. Very quiet on the freeway we no wind noise, but road and engine noise are slightly high for a luxury car. On sport mode, the car changes to different level of performance. The CVT is very smooth. Since its a hybrid car- no starter, no belts and using a different technology for A/C so it gets cold fast. I like the auto climate feature. The driver seat fits like a glove!!

Our friend got transferred overseas and sold us her 2015 Lexus CT200h. We LOVE this car! We have it for our second car for running errands and making short trips to town and it's perfect. Great fuel mileage with the hybrid technology and easy to drive. We read reviews that said it had sluggish acceleration, but we think it's fine. It rides very well and handles like a go kart. It's the perfect second car for my wife and me. But it is small!

The Mpg on my CT200h is 35, at best, not 40 as the book says. The leatherette interior feels rather cheap to touch and feel but looks good. A bit claustrophobic even for me 5’7” 130lb Otherwise it’s fun to drive, solid feel, good control.

I own a 2015 pearl white Lexus CT with a camel color interior. It is a beautiful and classy car loaded with a sporty and well designed and equipped interior. I was looking at a used Prius at a Lexus dealer and spotted the CT. It was love at first site. There were a couple of Certified ones to choose from and I made them an offer on the best equipped one. They talk about it being slow, but out on I-95, I keep up with and pass some of the fastest at 100+ mph. It's pretty quick off the line also. While others are burning tires, I'm off the line using a fraction of gas. Of course they whip by me while I travel in style. The CT will take a curve better than most cars. It is very tight and low to the ground. It is amazing how nimble it is. The stereo in this car has a 10 speaker surround sound system with a sub woofer in the rear. It sounds like it has a sub woofer in each of the 4 doors and you can tailor the bass for as much as you can stand. It is now June, 2022 and I have noticed that my driver seat back is starting to split. I don't know if I could have used a product to prevent this, but it is the first problem I have encountered with the CT. Over all, I would recommend this car, but they stopped making it. Maybe they could resurrect it, seeing the price of gas today. I have gotten as much as 50+ mpg While traveling 400 miles of interstate highway and 43 mpg in city driving and I am still driving on the Michelin tires that were new from the dealer in 2017. You can't beat that scratching off like an idiot. As far as maneuverability, I have not put a scratch on it and it looks as beautiful as the day I bought it. Pearl white is a great color on this sporty looking Lexus. I have had many complements on it's looks. I have seen black ones & red ones, but none looks as classy as pearl white. I have owned my own Semi Truck, driven many miles and this car travels well on long distance drives.

Downsized from an LS46@ & GS430. We have other , older vehicles that are very low mileage collector cars if you will. So the CT replaced/serve red many purposes. Have a 2013 . Lease is up soon. Also a 2016. Good cars. I love a luxury vehicle so I do have to say this IS aSTEP DOWN or it's a great "entry" car for the luxury market... The petro economy is RIDICULOUS!!!!!!! For what we would spend in 1 weed having the 2 older larger engine Lexi the CT has blown away as far as mileage, etc. there is NO comparison when you take a 4.3-5.0 liter engine to this TINY CT v4.. What 140 hp!!! As a daily drive tho...l with 18k one 1 & 12k on another we average 44 mpg and that's between a combination of both we have in FL & New England with sport mode and the VSP and TCS options it can preforme. Do NOTnhave the navigation as we are all iPod/IPad run lives. So it works for us! Technically difficulties regarding the remote start feature/app with some years. Leatherette is ok BUT is much better and so much easier to maintain than the real leather of our other Lexi. Everyone has their open but for daily, city/ short time driving... I'd rather get this car & have a new boat than have anything with a larger perhaps non hybrid engine... Toy with the idea of getting a LandCruiser or LX or GX BUT the ,petro and milege would kill me. It's ALL about compromises.

Hard to get in, too low and hit your head. I am 5'8". Engine is bit noisy; may be engine power is too low for the car, 134 hp. Everything else is top notch. The interior, quality, performance etc. If no ups and downs like Texas roads, you should get 45 - 47 mi/gallon. For CA roads 40 - 43 mi/Gallon. You will or should drive in Normal mode mostly. Echo mode is during slow traffic and Sport mode is for uphills.

Found the car. The perfect car if you want reliability along with safety and fuel efficiency. Plus, ADORABLE! Lot’s of bells and whistles, comfortable and a great ride. According to some reviewers, the car doesn’t give the driver “a thrill.” That’s fine with me. I don’t need thrills when driving. I need to go from point A to point B safely and efficiently. I get my thrills in other ways! Lol!

I absolutely love my car. It is great on gas! I take my car on road trips and I won't have to fill up for awhile. It does somewhat great in snow and rain. Lived in Washington for 2 years and never had a problem with the rain. You can put the backseats down and it makes so much room for groceries and large items. You can even lay back there with the seats down. My husband and I have done that when we went camping. Cons: It is really low from the factory. So steep driveways and sometimes even speed bumps might cause it to scrape. The backseats are really really small. That is the major concern we have with the car because nobody can really sit back there. It is not meant for tall people at all. My husband is 6 foot 3 and nobody can sit behind him. Overall it is a great car. I have owned it for 5 years and will never sell it.

I was forced to replace my much loved 2014 Lexus 200CT H which was totaled in July. I got the same model in a 2015 . The milage is higher than I wanted compared to my car but it is in perfect condition. I would give it a 5 except for the mileage and am comfortable driving it as it is so much like my car that I lost.
