Awful car for the money. Absolutely awful
For the last 20 years, I’ve skipped between Audi A6, BMW 5 Series and Mercedes E class. Mostly 3 litre and some 2 litre. I moved to the Range Rover Velar 18 months ago and I have had nothing but trouble. I’m not talking about unfortunate experiences, but constant shortfalls. The main area of disappointment comes from the internal electronics/controls. Awful DAB radio signal, poor Bluetooth connection and delayed/freezing touch screen. The engine is smooth as it should be and the cabin noise is ‘acceptable’. I’ve had to take the car in (under warranty) 4 times for different engine and mechanical problems and this is work under 30k on the clock. It feels like it’s ageing so badly, yet I only drive around 10k per year at the most. Customer service is very weak compared to other main dealers that I’ve had. Even Jaguar are a lot better and they’re under the same umbrella. I can’t trade it in soon enough. I would definitely advise people to avoid the nice badge and go with Audi, BMW or Mercedes.
Drives like a $72,000 golf cart…
Under-powered, unreliable, inferior (I mean really inferior) software, quirky electrical system that fails repeatedly, faulty hoses, astonishingly poor and unintuitive user interface, and unquestionably the most boring vehicle I’ve driven in the last 25 years.
