Used 1995 Land Rover Discovery SUV Consumer Reviews
Too BAd.
Too bad the quality of peripheral parts is so bad, the overall vehicle design is fantastic. I had not had it for 2000 miles when the ignition lock would not release my key (which has just happened again at 135K);new ignition locks, transfer case, alternator, catalytic convertor, exhaust system, O2 sensors, intake manifold gasket, transmission oil hoses/pipes, water pump, 6 sets ignition wires, steering column, window gaskets, coolant expansion tank, etc. Brakes have squeeled since mile 1. Doors fly open and the rear cargo deck is rusted out (owners check under the thick mat)
Our 1995 Land Rover Discovery
We purchased this vehicle when it was 2 years old. Aside from constant minor power steering leaks this SUV has been awesome! Its comfort and dependability have been top notch. Personally, when the time comes, we would gladly purchase another.

If I had a million dollars...........
I would have kept this car longer. But the parts and labor were too expensive for me. Cons: I had trouble with the ABS, and brakes (it would go all over the road if I was making a turn with my brakes on). Also the transfer case never worked. I didn't find it great in the snow, maybe because of the transfer case never working, but I assumed since it was AWD I wouldn't need it much. Terrible gas mileage, would stall if got too hot with ac on, rear hatch latch problems, cup holders in dumb spot. Pros: Fun to drive, a solid and safe car. Roomy and comfy. Loved the dual climate controls and the weather band (a must).
Great SUV
This SUV is really a good one to have. It is fun to drive and you know you can rely on it, whatever the sitution may be. If you have nevr experienced a Land Rover, I suggest you do.
Lots of repairs
Bought new in '94. Since then had to replace alternator, water pump, drive belt, starter, 2 sets ignition wires, muffler, radiator overflow tank, radiator plug, ABS system repair, multiple oil and power steering leaks. It broke down on the road 3 times. I would not purchase another one. Parts are way too hard to find, and expensive. Be prepared to do your own repairs, unless you have money to burn.
