Used 2022 Kia Sportage Consumer Reviews
Not Enough and Too Much
Two inarguable facts are unavoidable. *One. The Toyota Rav4 is the only smaller midsize SUV that has standard horsepower of 200 (203), making the purchase decision a no brainer. The problem is a vehicle weighing 4 to 5000 lbs is heavy. If you need actual 4WD to venture offroad and hike / camp, most AWD cars aren't really capable, especially if underpowered. *TWO. The only thing the Sportage was in absolute need of was more power and charging 35 grand for the 240 HP SX is ridiculous, placing it in much better competition. It's laughable to me every time I see a complete redesign of anything that only needed more horsepower and torque, yet a company spends millions on adding more tech or exterior tweaks. The Sporatge has suffered greatly because of this one simple thing, while increasing its price every year. Now the 2023 is bigger and longer but hilariously still is horribly underpowered at 187 HP and torque at 178 but will be 2 to 3000 dollars more than the 2022 so the 25 year old's can have a bigger screen. What Kia needs is an actual 4WD.Think two door size Wrangler with better ground clearance and more purposeful interior minus piano black blah blah blah that scratches instantly the 1st 3 months of ownership. Think lightweight 250 HP 4 cylinder.

Problem from the start!! NEVER again with Kia
The windshield washer was faulty the day I drove it off the lot. It sprayed the entire car, including the roof, front to rear, along with the side doors and windows. I was told it couldn't be fixed, even though it's under warranty. Then I was told the over spray was characteristic of the car, along with the fact that the sprayer "functioned as designed." No one would admit that this was a flaw. No one wants to be upfront and honest. As I try to get answers, the diversion tactics used by Kia have been incredible: phone calls from Kia, no message left... messages left with no return number left to call. I have owned 4 Kias but will never buy another one. This has been very frustrating. I just wish someone from Kia would be upfront and honest. No one wants to admit there is flaw in the design of this system. Kia personnel do not want to take ownership of the issue. Don't buy this car or any other Kia if you want honest answers Kia USA. One of the worst companies I have ever done business with

I just bought 2022 KIA SPORTAGE EX with Tech Package and oh boy, I love this car. Test drove Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V but design, layout and the way it drives are way better in this car. I bought it before KIA changes the design. I can't stand on new design. To me it is damn ugly.

I Love my Car
I got the SX Turbo AWD and love it. I live up north where winters can be snowy and cold and the AWD was a must. I got my car in January right before a big snowstorm hit so the AWD was very useful from the start. I also really appreciated the heated seats and steering wheel during those cold days. The 19’’ wheels did a good job getting through the snow. Although the tires that came with the Sportage are not exactly winter tires but, by driving carefully, I was fine. I wasn’t exactly prepared to buy another set of tires right away. I find the Sportage comfortable although the front console could be a little longer to better fit my arm. The back seat is quite spacious. The cargo space is not the biggest but I find it adequate. I love all the safety features and I love the Turbo engine. It is so much fun to drive!! I especially enjoyed ripping through the snow in my little Kia Sportage while some bigger cars were struggling. Couldn’t stop smiling. The fuel efficiency is not that bad for a car with good performance. I’m very happy with it. The only thing that would make it even better would be a front camera. Maybe, the next one…
