Was Worth the Wait
We originally looked at the 2023 Honda CR-V hybrid and felt the engine was too noisy when asked to deliver power. We drove the SX Prestige hybrid and felt it was much more refined than the CR-V. We came to an agreement on the price but my wife wanted red. We told the dealer to give us a call when a red vehicle came in. This was in February, 2023. We forgot about the vehicle and then got a call at the end of June that a red SX Prestige hybrid came in. The call came on a Thursday and we were told to come in Saturday morning. The dealer showed us the vehicle and it was what we wanted. The mileage depends on how you drive the vehicle. My wife, it's her car, gets between 30 and 35 miles to a gallon, I get between 35 and 40 miles to a gallon. Considering we were getting about 22 miles to a gallon on the 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport the Kia replaces. No gripes on gas mileage. This Kia is a pleasure to drive. It has enough power, it rides smooth and quiet and is very comfortable to sit in for long trips. Both my wife and I feel this rides more luxuriously than some luxury suvs we have been in. A friend of our just bought the top-of-the line 2023 Honda CR-V hybrid. He could not believe how much more equipment our Kia had. The Kia has 2 front seat back pockets, the Honda 1; The Kia has the cameras in the side mirrors, the Kia has the 360 degree camera and the Kia came with a spare tire. We found two minor shortcomings with the Kia. A homelink mirror is not standard. The memory seats are just that memory seats. They do not work with the outside mirrors. Overall we are very pleased with the Kia SX Prestige hybrid.
I'm Impressed!
I Had been Shopping for a Hybrid for a few Month. It's not the best time to buy in this Economy but, I needed a New Car. I Tested Kia against Hyundai, Honda and Toyota. The Vehicle I ended up buying was the Sportage Hybrid SX Prestige in Dawning Red with Black Interior. Pros: Offers mostly everything you could want and some you would not think of. The Drive is Smooth and comfortable Seats Cradle you just fine and have the right amount of Support The Tech and safety features are top notch Audio (Harmon Kardon) is decent, only misses some low end thump. It's fine but, you are not going to be wow'd by the Sub Performance. The Hybrid Drivetrain is simply Amazing. You can't feel a switch between Motor/Engine. It's seamless just the way it should be. Cons: Well, not really cons... Just feels like a missed opportunity. No Auto-Fold Side view Mirrors No Auto Dimming Rear View Mirror No Sunglasses Holder. Over-all; I was truly very impressed by this Car and I was very lucky to Find the one I purchased. Not sure why but, The SX Models in NY are hard to find. I'll add that the Dual use Climate/Radio is NOT that hard!!! You get used to it pretty quickly and IF you use one set of functions more often than the other, you can Long press on the Specific key to set that mode as the default. Not sure why people complain about the Dual use.

Unbelievable tec.
Had my new hybrid sportage a week now and couldn't be happier. I thought my 11 yr old Honda Crosstour was a great car but this Kia far exceeds it. I test drove the Honda CRV and really wanted to like it. Unfortunately it failed in every catagory. In addition to all the amazing tec, th Kia rode better and was quieter.
EPA Mileage Estimates are Overly Optimistic
I bought a new 2024 all wheel drive Sportage Hybrid a few months ago. While it's been a good car overall, the EPA mileage estimates of 38 MPG city/38 MPG highway are highly optimistic. I drive conservatively, and the real world gas mileage my Sportage gets is more like 32 to 34 MPG for both city and highway driving. The only other minor complaint I have is that the combined climate control/infotainment system is non-intuitive and confusing to use, as mentioned in the Edmunds article.

Love the car better than the more expensive cars.
The car drives great. Plenty of pick up, really quiet, and comfortable. No problems yet and have 16,000 miles. I have the matte grey car. Looks great but can’t take to a car wash unless touchless. Love the lane centering, just love the whole car.
