I Will stick with the JK style
This is my 7TH purchase of the Jeep JK Wrangler. I have followed the development of the new JL. I am not convinced it is the way to go for me. First it is a new model that will have teething problems like the JK had in 07. I do not know how the new models will do with the new metals being used or adhesives, they had to put the character line on the side to give the aluminum some strength. They made some steering components hollow rather than solid. I do not like the built-in roll bars. I do not like the windshield. they said they were going to lighten the Jeep, but some reviewers said it weighed more in some configurations.I do not like the dashboard, it looks like a Fiat design. I liked the adjustable steering wheel and lumbar support, that was about it. I know what I am buying with the JK. It is nice and simple. I bought the Sahara Unlimited automatic again in Billet Silver with a black hardtop. I love the new LED headlights and polished alloy wheels. I stayed with the 3.21 axle ratios for gas mileage. The Sahara has the next step up in shocks, so it is a bit firm at first, but smooths right out after a 1000 miles. This Sahara has a smoother ride than my 15 Sahara had. I feel safer buying tried and true, and I like the style better.I have owned so many vehicles and i keep coming back to the Wrangler Unlimited. It covers all the bases of what I want in one vehicle, a convertible, a tow vehicle, a 4X4, cargo capability with the seat down. a rugged look, easy to personalize. What more could you want !!

Doors off, Top down, what more could you want?
Sat on the fence of buying a Jeep Wrangler for years. I loved my buddies but just didn't think it was for me - not enough cargo space. Finally took a road trip with him, and was blown away by how much room inside there actually was. We fit WAY more gear than I could in my 2012 Lexus GX 460. So I did a trade in and found a nice 4 door Rubicon with leather seats. I'm really impressed thus far. 4 star for safety because the brakes SUCK - don't tailgate or push it. You will not stop in time. Coming from a Lexus, the stopping distance is abysmal. However, if you're driving a Wrangler, you have no business not driving defensively. Always be on the lookout, don't text and drive, and drive smart. 4 Star for comfort as well, you will get driving fatigue on road trips. 4 hours is fine, but a 7 hour trip will wear you out. Couldn't imagine doing that in the back set either. still a blast to drive an a great SUV so far! 2,000 miles in.

Better than expected!!!
Many of the reviews talk about the poor hwy ride and noise. I am not sure what they are comparing to??? My prior vehicle was a 2012 Chevrolet Avalanche and I will say that my JKU does not ride as well or is as quit but not so much that after a week or so you notice. I love the ability to remove part or all of the roof and was one of the main reasons I purchased. I often have passengers that are 6'4" plus with no complaints front or back seat. I have owned mine for just over a year with 22,XXX miles on it with many 300 mile+ trips and find it very comfortable for longer trips. I am 62 so not a kid and find this one of the easiest vehicles to get in and out of and with better visibility than almost anything on the road. The only improvement would be a backup camera below the brake light to help with hooking up a trailer.

Handles off road like a tank
I specially ordered the Rubicon Recon. Nothing in the field including the new JL rubicon even comes close. Road manners are great. Even on the highway at 65-70 its handles great! The only feature that came standard that I can't get use to is the climate control. I'm use to the manual A/C and heating controls. Otherwise like all Jeep Wranglers its a great buy. Resale value is always high. Gas mileage is 16.7-17-8. City

I mean it's a Wrangler right?
The Jeep Wrangler may or may not be for everyone but if it's for you, you'll love it. On the con side, gas mileage is not great. Any other cons I can think of aren't really cons but more of "that's how a Wrangler is supposed to be" (like rigid handling, basic creature comforts, boxy look). But if this vehicle is what you're after, the pros are definitely there. Unique and highly recognizable look, all tops and doors come off for a completely open-air experience, it's big and tough so you won't have to worry as much about cars pushing you around, you sit up high so you can see over most cars, it's highly customizable in the aftermarket. Overall you know if you want a Wrangler or not and if you do you'll love it.

Purist at heart
Purchased a 2018 Wrangler JK Freedom Edition. The official reviews are just smoke up your skirt. It rides nice on the road considering the tires are geared to off road so yes its not like driving a Cadillac, Auto Trans I didn't think I would like but I am impressed. Gas mileage runs14.5 MPG average. As far as the Hard top and T type tops, all easily removed entire top takes 10 minutes to remover and another 10 to put back on. Off Road Factory Tires are not up to par for heavy off road use, first good Rock will puncture it. All this takin into account it is still a 5.

2018 Jeep JK was a let down
I have been wanting a new Jeep since the day I got rid of my last one and with the 4 doors I thought it would be a great car for my family. Since buying 6 months ago transmission issues and fluid leaks have plagued this car. Unfortunately as soon as I can get rid of this one I will be done with Jeeps and the poor customer service of there dealership network here in the South Denver CO market

2018 Wrangler JK in St. Louis
I bought my JK hard top in March of 2018 and is a highway driver 99%. It is a 6 speed manual with 3:21 gears. At 40K miles it still runs well, no interior or exterior squeaks. The molding is starting to discolor which I believe is due to poor material. Other than lack of power, I generally like it.

Overall👍
No mechanical issues sofar I've had my 2dr base jk for 1.5 years. BUT there are minor things. I get winters where I live and there are parts of the jeep that make little to no sense. The plastic tray between the bumper and grill with depressions it just gathers ice and snow constantly, the windshield cracks in the same place when replaced on lower passenger side at the bottom middle? The massive cup surrounding the wiper arm bases ridiculous for ice build up??? Like I said not major but annoying

professional reviews are terrible
My 2016 JK Rubicon is over the top. I had a 95 YJ, and 4 TJ's before this one. You DON'T buy a Wrangler for luxury. All the writers say don't buy a Wrangler because----. They ride rough, they leak, they don't have all the safety features that the poor driving soccer mom's need. They are a Jeep. Highest resale value in the industry. If you need poor off road performance and luxury (sic) buy one of the Japanese suv's. However, if you want fun and want to stand out. Buy a Wrangler.

What a Ride
I‘m in love! This car is worth every penny. I‘m impressed by the workmanship of the interior and it‘s definitely roomy enough for two people. I find it too be very comfortable and easy to handle. Took me about 5 mins to get used to the steering. This vehicle is very well built and feels super safe. Can’t wait to take it off-roading and on road trips! MPG? Who cares! It‘s a Jeep Rubicon :)

Needs new seats every six months
I love this car with all my heart but the seats make more noise than a school bus full of kindergardeners, and Jeep won't stand behind it. Every six months they have to be replaced, and that's just not a price I'm willing to pay. Twenty months into having the car, and it's had three seat bases. I had to repair it myself because Jeep wouldn't do it. I love Jeeps, but I'd stick with the old ones. Update: Jeep reimbursed me for the cost of replacing the seat for the third time. Now there's rust forming around the windshield. The quality is not in line with the cost of the car. Would not recommend. Update 2022: After four years, the Jeep is mechanically sound. Small repairs, such as trim that was incorrectly installed and seats that needed to be rebuilt, I've taken care of myself. Other than routine maintenance, it hasn't asked for much from me. Update 2024: My seat repair "took," and I've had no more issues. They did not address the rust around the windscreen. When it was time to buy out the lease, the dealership from which the Jeep originated balked at offering assistance and told me to handle it on my own, which I was not comfortable doing, so I had to shop around for a dealership that would help.

Better then I could have hoped!
Haven't had the vehicle long but have thoroughly enjoyed it since I purchased. Much more comfortable to drive then I would have thought it would be. As some one with a bad back, I was able to take this on a 4+ hour drive and have zero discomfort! That means a lot to me. The soft top is very easy to use and when it's closed, there is very little road noise. The only negative thing I can say, and its minor, is the USB input. It works fine but it does get a bit glitchy some times and it is not the most user friendly. Even with that, I LOVE the vehicle and am glad I purchased

Piece of crap for me.. Piece of less smelly crap f
It's a tight fit if you're 6'5" like I am. The backseats are basically unusable by human beings. Too upright and you can't recline them. And sometimes (more than a half-dozen times ), after traveling a distance, this thing won't start up without turning the key for a five times. A common problem with the J model apparently. AND the JEEP often won't start. Dealer can't track it down. Design defect as this complaint is all over the Internet. Never again. I'm going to buy 25-year-old bronco which is going to be more reliable than this [non-permissible content removed].

The last of the JKU
I was in the market to trade in my 2014 Rubicon JK, had waited to see how the new JL would look and drive. After the a test drive of the JL, I opted to buy another JK, this time a JKU. Needed to extra room so I needed a four door. After eleven year of the JK model, I already new what I was getting. All I know are wranglers, so the way it rides, handles, and overall performance of this vehicle is awesome. Although the new JL has some really great features, The JK/JKU models feel like a JEEP. Nothing more American than driving and owning a JEEP Wrangler!!!

All wet
Actually I have a 2019 Moab, but there were not an option to select that vehicle. I'm sure that this issue is not limited to my specific vehicle. How stupid is it that when you open the door when it's raining water pours out of the gutter into the interior of the vehicle! One would think that jeep could come up with a fix for this!
This is my 4th JEEP, Love this one the best!
The new 4dr Freedom edition in GOBI is the best looking Jeep out there!!!

I bought a 2018 JK Sport S in Feb 2019. Getting ready for the 2nd oil change, and it has been a Highway vehicle. Used the 4wd mode a few times in the winter and once on a graveled county road ( road not in best shape). I haven't had any major issues as of yet. I really love it and receive lots of compliments on it. Planning on this summer to try an off-road trail with the wife and top off. I couldn't ask for a better Jeep, with exception to the wife's 05 liberty Sport

2018 Jeep Wrangler JK Sahara
This 2018 Jeep JK has a rough ride, precise steering, acceptable performance from its V-6, all traits that a 2-door Jeep is suspose to have. This our fourth 2-door Jeep, doesn't disappoint. This Jeep is still a Jeep. It now has 25000 miles, no mechanical problems.

Hit or miss. Definitely got a MSS. SOS
I purchased a used 2018 Sahara 4 door I4 2.0 Turbo in mid November 2022. Low mileage, no accidents, clean title, stock parts. I’ve drove jeeps without these issues and have friends with decades experience who don’t experience these issues. Dealership of purchase on smooth road, test drive checked out. Since ownership this jeep has never been taken off roads, and after a month of purchase little to no interstate driving has been done. By December 2022 in shop for concerns of death wobble and leaking at front door seals so severe my windows might as well be down. Track bar tightened, and told get new seals, jeeps leak. Zero improvements, had alignments checked, tires balanced and rotated, changed my detour for my daily commute to work. No longer drive on interstates, and drive with 2 towels on standby should I be out when it rains. Other complaints I noticed were the auto engine idle when braked at a light doesn’t work at times, leading to engine heating up by sitting at a light, mile gauge on odometer do not display consistently, at times upon start up can not display at all - have to turn car off and back on. Road noise picking up and additional alignment checks and track bar tightening, by June 2023 the car needed full rear different rebuild. By October 2023 rear end exploded leading to a rebuild, again. Two days after picking up from second rebuild, the engine starts overheating. Took to shop to further assess this concern and they didn’t note any leaking of fluid from underneath, but potential leaking and burning of coolant. At dealership to determine if it is head gasket or internal engine malfunction. I’m at loss of words of my current situation… Open to any/all advice moving forward. Most likely selling when it is out this time before warranty runs out and I don’t have a cushion for if something big goes wrong right after it runs out. After owning a car for 8+ years and over 250K miles and 6+ years of no car payment, my first car was totaled on my second day of work and I decided to take on a car payment and one year in… I am at loss of words and so upset with the situation I am in. To have to sell/trade in this vehicle when I owe all that I do.. downgrade to older vehicle and lose the 4WD capabilities I paid for and yet never used… kind of feels like a slap in the face. I will say I was pleasantly surprised with the gas mileage of the vehicle. Never avg < 20 MPG, usually get 24-26 MPG (Granted… I have not driven extensive time on interstate or at speeds higher than 60 mph all year). And I do get lots of compliments on it… not that anyone knows the real ringer this particular jeep has put me through in the 11 months I’ve had it so far. HOPING to come out with as small of a financial loss as possible at this point.

Punkin Convertable
After a whole lot of Classic cars some old some new it is nice to have a convertible I do not have to wait for a nice day to drive . To find a convertible in the 30,000 range is tough other than a few with standard transmissions and that are low to the ground , are kids are grown so we pulled the back seat and stored it , This new JL was worth the money , all we got is AC and an automatic and that's fine, and with the resale value and how fun it is to drive I wish I would have bought one before . after driving 4000 miles the only thing I found is the light switch location could be changed , I hit it with my knee getting in and it cost 160$ for a new one installed other than that great jeep !

2018 Jeep Wrangler JK Sahara disappoints
Within first 3 months of ownership, it's been in repair for 29 days and counting for defective engine components (cam shaft, cylinder head). So disappointed in Jeep! Jeep refuses to replace the vehicle so going through Lemon Law process now. Even prior to the engine issues, the handling was very loose to the point of dangerous on the highway. Don't hit a pothole

Great in town or on dirt roads - not good on hwy
I enjoyed the Jeep driving around town or in the mountains but the long hwy rides were exhausting. The cabin was noisy and there was a lot of play in the steering wheel. When I took it to the dealer, they told me that was just the way they were.

JK pitman arm failure
Read the forums before you buy! The steering box and the bolt above the pitman arm are junk. Mine snapped in half at an angle with only 100k miles. Thankfully slow speed making turn or jeep would have flipped. insurance won't touch it cause it's determined a defect. Thankfully my child was not in there. Had no after market lift, had stock 18" wheel size, jeep comes with 255 and I put 265s on with same width ratio. After bolt snapped all Chrysler said was bigger tires. They don't stand by their product. Anything to get out of part failure. Took over a month for a reply from investigation and all I got was 2 sentences in email. Had to contact attorney general and BBB and still on waiting for reply. Have my dodge ram 3500 up for sale due to Chrysler customer service! Too many recalls, my jeep has 9 alone and why the steering box and the bolt for the linkage/pitman arm are not one I have no idea. STAY AWAY! Love Cummins but won't buy another till they ditch Chrysler!

These chrysler jeeps aren't in the same league as Willys/amc/Jeep ever was. I'll keep my 1979 CJ7 Renegade, ragtop, inline 6, 4bolt main, 3 speed. These things shouldn't even be called Jeep.

Updated review after 10k miles
Purchased April 2022. 66 k miles at time of purchase. JK Limited Sport 2 door with 6 speed manual transmission. 66k miles when purchased. just turned over 73 k miles on engine, with another 7k miles flat towed. Easy to put into 4WD. And to set up for flat towing. I used a brake buddy. I have been very pleased with my first Jeep and is my daily driver. It handled well in the AZ desert. As a stock Jeep, it handled as good or better than others in my Jeep group on moderate rated trails. 18” Bridgestone duelers. a/t. I believe they were the original tires.

Love my Jeep
I have the Jk Unlimited Willy’s edition in Firecracker red - I love it! I bought in new in 2018. It’s been amazing except for 2 issues. First of all I would never get black cloth seats again with a white dog. The second is fuel economy. This is no surprise for a Jeep but with extremely high gas prices it’s a definite consideration. UPDATE: I purchased my Jeep Wrangler Willy's Edition in 2018 and I love it. I haven't had any issues at all with it. I have only put less than 55k kilometers which is equivalent to around 35k miles. The only things I would do different is to get leather interior, as the cloth is difficult to clean and to not get black interior as I have a white dog that sheds. I would buy another Jeep Wrangler in a heart beat.

DEEPLY DISAPPOINTED!!!
Bought this vehicle in April, 2022 as a used 2018 Jeep Wrangler JK Sport. My version had had the soft top which the rear plastic covering was punctured and the velcro surrounding it had begun to buckle. The main overall persistent problem with this vehicle in particular and Jeep vehicles in general it is that THEY LEAK!!! One day after enduring four days of relentless rain water had accumulated inside the vehicle reaching my shins. I had to take it to the dealership to have them remove and replace the dry rotted weatherstripping around the driver and passenger front doors. Some 15 months later I had the soft top converted to a hard top so the entire vehicle is now a pearlized purple. Still have leak issues since the hardtop is not properly aligned in that there is a bit of an abuttment and consequently hard rain comes through on the rear view mirror and on my 8" GPS. Once again 10th trip to the dealership for additional repairs. BUT FOR THE COLOR I would have NEVER BOUGHT this vehicle. The rear windshield wiper did not work had to purchase a special arm to activate the rear windshield wiper. Changed all out parts due to sun bleached discoloration to piano black; paint job and ceramic coating cost of just cosmetic repairs over 15K. Not great on mileage either. Overall very very disappointed with this vehicle would never had bought it again except for the unique color-purple which is my favorite. Would not buy again after all the money that has been spent on purchase price; four year extended warranty program; service department expensive hourly labor rate and parts etc.

Replace Cylinder Head at 60K miles
I bought my jeep used at 20k miles. My check engine light came on at 60,800k. I took it to the dealership and the diagnosis is that the Cylinder Head needs to be replaced which is an estimated $4000 to repair. Chrysler Jeep would not help at all or back their product. The engine is a poor design for it to fail at 60k miles. I was only 800 miles out of the service agreement. They claim to have exceptional service and their product fails at 60k miles there is a poor design. This is a known issue that should be addressed. I have spoke to other jeep owners that have had to replace the same part. Customer service was not helpful at all.
