When shopping for a jeep renegade make sure that you test drive it over many different types of road surfaces so that you know how it's going to ride and sound cause it is different. I first purchased a 2015 latitude 4x4 auto and could not be more pleased with the decision I made. I traded it in for a 2018 limited with many new safety features and improved ride and noise reduction. The tires that came with I traded in for a new set of Michelin X-Ice Xi3 which I like cause of the lack of road noise as well as great winter traction on all surfaces which is a plus because where I live we get over 180 inches average in the last 6 years of snow in the winter. I have had no issues or repairs in over 16000 miles of ownership on both models.

Update: No one would acknowledge the issues with this vehicle, although I had several videos showing them exactly what was happening. Push start, nothing happening. This happened over the course of several months 0f 2019. I traded it in for a much more reliable vehicle. I've had my 2018 Jeep Renegade Limited for a little over a year. Right after we bought it, we were traveling to another state, stopped at a rest area, ran in real quick, came back and the only volume on the radio was blaring. Had to sit over night before it corrected itself. Of course, according to the dealer, no other Jeep on the planet has done this. Now, starting this past spring, not even a year old, push to start, radio comes on, engine does not. Takes about 5 minutes before it turns over. Dealer has never heard of this either, will not give me a loaner because they say nothing is broken on my Jeep. Of course it won't do this when I've driven 40 miles to take it them, it has to sit. It has to be a cold start. I'm not wasting my day there, not to mention it doesn't do it every single time. I wish I had my Challenger back. I wish I had never bought this Jeep. Worst purchase. I need to trade this in before I'm stranded in a another town, too far away from my home.

90K miles and runs like a champ, great fuel mileage (28-30), great handling, and great power. Love it!

Wanted to love It

I just traded out of my 2018 Renegade Latitude at only 23,000 miles. I absolutely loved everything about that car, except the dependability(or lack there of). At 6,000 miles the body control module failed. I thought maybe it was a fluke in manufacturing, and I gave my Jeep the benefit of the doubt. Then, not long after my radio would stop responding. Sometimes when I would turn the car on it would stop at the initial screen and do nothing else, sometimes it would stay blank, and sometimes it wouldn’t turn off with the car or respond after. As if this wasn’t enough, just 2 weeks ago I got a low oil pressure warning for a couple seconds when I turned at an intersection. I thought maybe when I had the oil changed recently they didn’t put enough in. I considered there could be another failing sensor or a short somewhere too. A week ago I was driving down the road to a four way stop with my 1 year old son in the car when it freaked out. It stalled, the oil light came on, the engine was sputtering terribly, the power steering had gone out, the dash told me to put the car in drive to move, and multiple attempts of trying to turn it off and on again did nothing. 2 nice gentleman pushed my renegade to the side of the road and were shocked that I was experiencing this with a relatively new car. When we checked, the oil was almost nonexistent on the stick. It went to the dealership where they offered to do an oil consumption test that would run the course of 1000 miles. They said my engine could be bad because it had burned through 3 qts (what I put back in) or more within 2500 miles. I have never owned a new car that burned through oil. My father’s 2004 Ford Explorer that I drove for a time never burned oil. I told them I was not comfortable with the car any longer. I wasn’t going to risk stalling on the interstate with my son in the car and risking our safety. I took a small hit trading in, but I wasn’t going to stick around and see what would happen with that renegade. even if they did replace my engine, they would be putting the same 2.4 liter multi-air tigershark engine in. My guess would be in about another 20,000 miles I’d be needing another one, and that time it wouldn’t be warrantied. I bought a Hyundai Tucson instead, and I couldn’t be happier with the service and warranties!

Great drive when no problems. I bought new 26 miles. At 300 miles towed to deal for oil filter cross threaded at factory. 500 miles faulty air bag system. At about 1800 it spewed gas all over me and ground at the pump, a common problem with gapless check valve reported at various forums on internet. At. 2800 miles it has used 3 quarts of oil, also a common issue reported on forums. Calling dealer today....and checking trade in value at non jeep Chrysler dealer.
