This is a light duty, mini, SUV. It's not an off road Jeep, its not a luxury Grand Cherokee Limited. It's a fairly good quality marketing hybrid made with a Fiat frame, a " world " engine and an automatic transmission with with too many gear changes and confused programming. The big engine needs a turbo to be taken seriously, the transmission needs an economy / performance dash control. A transmission that shifts every 200 to 600 rpm on level road every time the wind shifts its not right!

This piece of crap car is a death trap. How in thee hell is this car even legally able to be sold??? It’s been to the shop four times and they continue to say it’s fixed but let me ask you :is driving 50 mph then SUDDENLY having the car ITSELF decelerate to 30 mph safe??? NOOO. Then it just stops running and is dead. It’s been brought back (TOWED) four times for this same exact problem and the dealership claims it’s Chrysler’s fault and there’s nothing they can do. Do not buy this garbage junk heap death trap of a vehicle if you value your life. It’s only a matter of time until it will involve you in a horrific and traumatic accident. Ours is parked at the dealership and they are attempting to get Chrysler to buy it back from them. What a fight that was to get them to do that. Spent all day arguing with stupid sales people today and finally were allowed to talk to someone who could make a decision that would actually move this situation forward instead of at a stand still because we were not leaving with that car. That car will kill someone yet the dealership continues to attempt to us to take it. No more.

I have almost 60,000 miles on my Trailhawk renegade bought it at the end of 2015 as a 2016 model. I have been everywhere throughout the west from the Oregon cascades to death valley, big sur to Monument valley and just about every trail I could find in between. My renegade trailhawk hasn't let me down, gotten me stuck or left me stranded. Ive had to drive through more than one hair raising snowstorm in Oregon and Utah. I have so much confidance in my jeep that I dont even stop to think about whatever weather or road conditions I am going to be facing. Bonus for anybody who buys this jeep is the extreme amount of accessories you can add to this vehicle. Everything from lift kits, extra skid plates, lights and just all kinds of stuff its crazy. I have only one complaint about my jeep and that is the lateshifting transmission which sometimes bothers me but normally its fine and I have gotten totally used to it, This has been fixed with the newer models apparently. If you are like me and you want a decent offroader for weekend expeditions but you spend most of your time driving on roads in cities I wholeheartedly recommend this vehicle!

The comfort level and features were excellent in my Renegade Trailhawk, but going through a buy-back now because of reliability issues. Add on that the engine will cut power at inopportune times, like pulling out with cross traffic coming, the very small gas tank, way worse than advertised gas mileage, the 9 speed transmission paired with a 4-cylinder engine, and a few other small items, and I can't get rid of this vehicle fast enough.

I bought the 2016 Renegade looking for a decent size, but small, SUV that could be driven if it snowed. The first week or so was ok, even though the power was horrible. I have never been in a car that has an engine that vibrates as much as this one. You could literally cut a whole in the hood and put a intruding air intake and they would think it had a mini hemi in it. The 2nd week I had it the entertainment center would reset my stations and setting every time I turned off the car, then it would reset the backup camera settings and remove the guide lines. After a few weeks going back and forth to the dealer, they resolved it. The traction control is horrible. Just hope you never pull out in traffic and have any wheel slip or your going to be toast, because the engine practically shuts down and no matter how hard you press that gas peddle, it does NOTHING. Not a good thing when something is coming at you fast and waiting for you to get out of the way. I also do not like how the car will get stuck in certain revving levels and rev up real high for no reason and then eventually go back down without any intervention from you. I DO NOT recommend this car for ANYONE. And the resell value is DESPICABLE. You pay 30k for a fully loaded trailhawk and less that one year and 20k miles it is work about 20k. A very good sign that after someone owns one, they are not wanting another. Dropping 10k or more in 1 year tells me this car really sucks and now I am stuck with it, unless I am willing to throw 10k down the drain.
