Never again Chrysler
I bought my Liberty with the diesel Crd thinking I would get better mileage. Although that did prove to be true the cost of diesel went up and so it didn't make sence to have a diesel. The cost to maintain the diesel is higher than a gas engine. I have had so many problems with the egr valve and the boost pressure sensor, and the egr air flow control valve. I have contacted chrysler and they say TOO BAD Its out of warranty. As soon as I fix the egr (yes again) I am trading in this piece of junk . I have purchased a number of new chrysler vehicles over the years but no longer will I buy anything were they do not test their products and sell juck to the public. Good by chrysler and goo ridence
Jeep-Chrysler does not care
I was originally impressed with the vehicle's fuel mileage and reliability. Then came the first recall to replace the lower ball joints, which was fine, at the same time the torque converter was replaced. This occurred at 12,000 miles, since then the liberty has been back in the shop 4 times, due to the transmission shifting rough, if at all. Each time the shop has failed to find a problem, which is convenient since it is still on warranty. The other major problem, was brake failure. It took taking back to the dealer 3 times before the problem was addressed. And the only reason it was fixed was because the service tech was almost in an accident due to no brakes.

2005 Jeep Liberty Sport 4x4
Purchased new in early Jan. 30k miles later Jeep went to dealership only once for mud blockage in condenser (not under warranty). Air vents do not close, window switches located on middle console. Other than that, it's of great quality. No problems at all, except there could be improvements on minor details.
Overpriced Vehicle
For what you get, the vehicle is overpriced. No problems of any kind, using this vehicle off road not the best idea.
It's all Jeep!
I have read previous reviews and will mainly reiterate what has been stated. It is all Jeep and is definitely no slouch. Very powerful but poor gas mileage. Has a nice exterior look but have to fold the rear seats down to even put my golf clubs in. Seats stain very, very easily! Plenty of headroom, but feel crowded laterally. Have never known any Jeep to keep wiper blades any longer than two weeks. Not a lot of front area storage. Handling is poor if tires not inflated properly or the wind is blowing. Love it in the snow! Final analysis, if you love Jeep, you will love this, if not, you won't. Next time I'll get a Toyota.
