Used 2004 Jeep Liberty Consumer Reviews
Happy with change
We decided to trade our very nicely equiped Grand Cherokee Ltd. for an 04 2wd Liberty Renegade. Retired, we didn't need the larger vehicle and felt we could live without the thirsty 4.7L. I was concerned about performance going to V-6. Not any more. We are very happy with the Liberty's performance, fuel economy and overall handling.
Just missing a Bag of chips
I hate the window controls, and the remote entry is a bit wierd. Other than that, I love the Jeep Liberty. Even if the gas mileage is way less than I was told at the dealership, it is still better than my last truck.

Liberty Brakes Danger
I brought my third Jeep, a Liberty, in February, 2004. I now have 28,000 miles on it and the rear brake calipers locked and I had to have it fixed somewhere other than the dealer. The wheels were smoking and all they could say is that repairs are only at the dealer. I will never buy another. They just don't care!
Scottish Jeep Cherokee review
Changed to Jeep from LR Freelander for off road ability. Now used extensively offroad in Scotland French Alps. Tiring to drive round town due to weight and control effort required ( manual . Great long distance cruiser- lots of space and very civilised. Chassis build quality is fantastically 'vault' like but surprisingly it's unreliable with fan belt sawing thru badly positioned coolant pipe in first 1000 miles, frayed wire causing warning lights to come on and diesel leaking from injector. Superbly plush suspension offroad though surprisingly low ground clearance at sump means lots of noise when rock hopping though no damage to date.
