I always loved Jeeps so when I needed a new vehicle I decided to stay with the good old American Jeep. What a mistake. First I have had nothing but issues with my electrical wiring used for my towing hitch which started at around 15,000 miles and first use. When I brought my Liberty back to have this repaired, I had to fight with the dealer to have it fixed (lets just say I spoke with every manager in the dealership and actually had to contact Jeep headquarters directly)- headache #1 still not solved, still not working. Now I am having transmission problems at 34,000 miles. It feels as though my transmission is stuck in third or fourth gear.

Second Review - Love It!

I love driving this car, in my first review I complained about a transmission issue which was actually a brake issue (needed new rotors) that was taken care of by my mechanic for a nice price with no problem. Overall, I love this car and I have no complaints with the exception of gas mileage. I'd recommend anyone to buy it, and everyone who's been in mine loves it! This is my first SUV, my first Jeep and I will definitely buy a Jeep in the future. The Jeep Liberty Limited Edition gets an A+ from me.

After 200,000 here is the rundown of what has been repair/replaced on my '03. I have essentially rebuilt this SUV, after I "gambled" on the transmission at 160,000 hoping not much else would happen and I could not afford a new car payment. Heads(machined)/Head Gasket and all supplementary gaskets for top of engine Cooling System, hoses, and Radiator AC Compressor Fan and Interior Temp Relay Serpentine Belt (twice) Battery (twice) Regulator Water Pump Transmission Front Transaxle Shocks Rear V Stabilizer Front Ball Joints (recall) Front Control Arm Never mind the brakes, rotors, and tires and I still like the car, sort of.

I love my Jeep. After being a Ford/GM man all my life I made the switch. I had the opportunity to work with Ford Motor as a contractor and I observed very poor quality control, egotistical business practices, and substandard quality. Henry Ford would be turning in his grave after what I saw! This Jeep I bought is TOUGH! I have driven through 2 floods, ice, snow, and it kicked butt! I saw police cars stranded in flood waters and I plowed right through it! I liked my Jeep so much I bought another as a company vehicle.

Buy this only if you have money to burn.

Fun vehicle but gas mileage is a lot worse that what Jeep claims. This jeep looks large on the outside but rather small interior.
