Cherokee - most bang for the buck
I just gave up my 1999 Dakota for a laredo with the 4.0 I had the 5.2 V8 in the dodge and to tell you the truth the 4.0 feels better and more powerful all around. If you compare starting prices with the trailblazer and envoy you will find you are getting more quality features for the money with the jeep, and lets be honest trailblazer has a nice name but i wouldn't dream of taking that off the highway- nobody beats a jeep prowless offroad
GRAND CHEROKEE LARADO REVIEW
IF YOUR LOOKING FOR SIZE AND AFFORDABILITY THEN THIS IS A GOOD CHOICE. 4 WHEEL DRIVE IS A GOOD FEATURE FOR TODAYS ENVIORMENT, IT HANDLES WELL FOR A SUV, BUT WATCH YOUR TURNS AT HIGH SPEEDS.

Its getting hot in here
My then girlfriend, now wife, was thrilled with the jeep, for the first 6 months. Then the little stuff started; bad locks and windows, rattles and squeeks...We got married...now its summer, she's pregnant, NO A/C... 4 trips to the dealer....still NO A/C...and they actually managed to undo a lock fix they did 6 weeks ago....Now, we are trying to get a loaner, wife is due soon, not sure when/if jeep will be fixed....
Never Again...
This was the first vehicle I bought brand new. If I have ever had a vehicle nickel and dime me, it would be this one. Little things that aren't covered by the warranty. It started about 20K miles, with the brakes, and went downhill from there, rear axle, power steering, an electric window broke (in the winter), and CD player to name a few. If you don't mind the little fixes, go ahead and buy one. If you want a vehicle to stand by their warranty and is proud of their name. Don't go with any Chrysler. I love to drive this car, but I can't stand the "issues". I have never EVER put as much money into all of my cars combine, as I have put into this one.
Out of warranty & out of money
This is my second Jeep and it will be my last, nothing but problems (costly repairs). Brakes, rotors, air conditioning, water pump, exhaust, throttle position sensors, coolant leaks, broken seats & terrible stability problems. The Jeep was great for the first four months or so, then it just went downhill fast, it seems to have lost its stability and handling and has required too many repairs. My first Jeep was a 1994 Cherokee Sport, which had very little problems (over 125k) and no stability issues. Maybe I just got a lemon but I won't be taking a chance and buying another one to find out.
