Used 2003 Jaguar X-Type Sedan Consumer Reviews
Second day thoughts....
I picked up my car from the dealership last night. This is a beautiful looking car (white exterior, beige leather interior). At first I had a bit of trouble getting the car to go in reverse. The sales manager failed to mention that you have to lift a small ring on the shifter before you put it in reverse. I found that out while reading the manual later that evening. When I drove my daughter to school this morning I was able to back up with no problem at all. Now that I know what I'm doing I'm very happy with the car. So far it looks and rides like a dream. ...I will update these comments in the weeks ahead as I put miles on this baby....so far so good....
Pleasantly surprised
I recently took delivery of this vehicle, and I am content with it. I was looking for a 4wd sedan for less than 30K and this one came on top for the type and options included. The vehicle did come with a lot of options, but with some patience and a great sales individual I managed to get a great deal for it. The ride is what's expected of a European sedan. The steering is precise and the transmission is smooth. Because it is a 2.5 the acceleration is not that strong, but sufficient enough to provide a joyful ride. The finish inside is good, and the chrome accentuates the car perfectly.
love it!
I have the x type 3.0 with a manual transmission, navigation, all the options available.
Similar Cats -Sable/Jaguar
When I first saw this car I thought it was unique and inexpensive (a $349/mo lease) so really anybody can afford it. The reality is that it is not unique and looks just like the Ford Sable. I am not surprised since Ford does own Jaguar. The reliability is questionable since we all know both Ford and Jaguar do not have the best records. In summary the reality is this car is a Sable in Jaguar clothing! Remember, you get what you pay for.
Not Impressed
I found the engine sounds tinny, like a turbo charged Civic, high piched. The leather seats seem quite cheep as compared with the Infiniti G35, the Volvo S60 or other competing cars. The car looks like a Taurus. If you want a sporty car buy the Infiniti G35 AWD, a safer, more reliable and more fun to drive is the Volvo S60. I don't like the Jaguar
