TROOPIN ACROSSED AMERICA
RIDES WELL BUT BOTTOMS OUT WITH LOAD OR BOAT ON BACK, NO LOWER BACK SUPPORT IN DRIVER SEAT,FUEL ECONOMY POOR, RELIABLE BUT LOW RESALE, EXTERIOR BODY HAS HELD UP GREAT, INTERIOR ROOM GOOD,HAVE HAD TROUBLE WITH INTERIOR ELECTRICAL AND SPARK PLUG WIRES AND TWO OXYGEN SENSORS, PARTS VERY EXPENSIVE COMPARED TO OTHER COMPORABLE MODELS, GOOD OVERALL TRUCK, TRUSTY!!!
You gotta love it
I've had the rig for about 12 years now with more than 240,000 on/off road miles. Never been in a shop for repair (short of changing clutch, brakes). It doesn't have the comfortable ride that you get in new SUV's and sure is like a truck. It's more of an off-road vehicle than on-road since it has great off- road capabilites.
MY CAR WAS PART OF THE FAMILY
MY VEHICLE BECAME PART OF THE FAMILY PART OF THE FAMILY LIFESTYLE - SPORTS. LOTS OF SPORTS GEAR AND SPORTS PLAYERS - NOT ALL MINE. THREE OF THE MY SONS TEAMMATES PARENTS BOUGHT THE SAME CAR.
92 Trooper
Great vehicle for winter driving and summer camping. Towed great and all around comfortable seating angle for long drives (3-7 hours at a time). We had ours for 9 years and just bought a 2001 model.
What a Trooper!
Our 1992 Trooper has been a steady soldier. Lots of backroad work and offroad trail access has never hurt this vehicle. The 1992-series through he current models suffer from unimaginative packaging in the 5-speed versions (we have GM to thanks for that!), but they are fun to drive, remarkably trouble-free, and have better fit and finish than most SUVs.
