Disappointed in TN
While the car is very cute and handles well it has proven to be a money pit in my opinion. Have owned the car not quite 2 years and have replaced brake pads and rotors twice...it literally eats them - found that out after I purchased, should have researched more! The gas mileage is terrible...around town lucky to get 14-16 mpg...hwy is better at around 22 mpg. Nice car but wouldn't buy it again.
Early performance appraisal
I was drawn to the G35 by it's styling, and also I had previously owned a Maxima in the past. So far, I am relatively pleased with all but the overall ride. It does not accept rough roads very well, I guess due to the sports suspention system. Other than that, it is a fun vehicle to drive. I am disappointed in the non-digital clock, it can hardly be seen at night, and the buttons on the steering wheel are also unlit( I think this has been corrected in the '05 model.

Brakes!!!
I'd love this car so much more if I didn't have to have new brakes every 12000 miles! This car eats tires; goes thru brakes like crazy and get terrible gas mileage (even when we don't race it!) Otherwise, it's my favorite car of all time... and I've had a few!!
Mo's Matters
This car handles superbly. It styling suggest speed and there's plenty of it. But if you are heavy footed the gas mileage is horrible. They need to find a way to improve city mileage averages. Combined driving gets close to 20mpg. Strict city drive about 10mpg. That is horrible. But the handling and overall performance at this price cannot be beat. The instruments on the inside do look cheap.
Fun to drive - Expensive to own
This car is a lot of fun to drive. It begs to be turned loose on winding roads. Unfortunately, the reliability is horrible. Since I purchased it, I have had the driver's seat mount break (it would move all over the place while driving - a little too exciting), brakes replaced at 34,000 miles, and a complete clutch / flywheel replacement at 59,000. The first two were covered by the warranty. The service guy even suggested I push the brakes hard to be sure they were worn enough before I ran out of warranty. The clutch on the other hand is not covered by the drivetrain warranty and it was over $1,800 out of pocket. If you buy this car, be ready to come out-of-pocket deep and often.
