2025 Hyundai IONIQ 6 Sedan Consumer Reviews

An amazing car with outdated tech
I’ll get it out of the way first, the Ioniq 6 is one of the best-driving cars I’ve ever been able to get my hands on. The feel, acceleration, handling, and range are all top notch. Those skipping out on the Ioniq 6 because it’s not an SUV or crossover are truly missing out. However, Hyundai and their dealers are asking too much for a car that’s already outdated. Despite being a 2025 model, the Ioniq 6 does not have the latest Hyundai software or the NACS plug, two things that the 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 have. With no promise to update the software to the latest version, a seeming lack of wireless CarPlay/Auto, and no ability to swap out the ports, the 2025 Ioniq 6 is bizarrely out of date for a new year model. Adding insult to injury is the fact that dealers want anywhere from $45k-$52k depending on the model and seem unwilling to budge much. It’s sad. This is the best EV I’ve gotten to test drive so far and would have happily sprung for it…but Hyundai did the Ioniq 6 dirty this year.
Absolutely Awesome Value
I waited to buy my second EV until a range-anxiety-free offer for an OK price was available. The SEL delivered in spades, and offered so much more besides. - Super quick charging: You can get 100 miles of range in 7 minutes! Recharging stops are like just a leisurely version of gas station stops. - Lots of optionals included as standard: steering assistance, collision, avoidance, vehicle to load… - Surprisingly spacious interior. This is especially evident in the backseat. Your passengers have tons of leg space. A couple minor irritants: 1- This being a simple trim, the sound system is blah. Get it upgraded whenever you can. Not too complicated. 2- I come from a long line of front wheel drives. This is my first rear wheel drive, and my impression is that it fishtails more than it should.

Great car so far
We just got the car a few weeks ago and so far so good. Smooth ride, very roomy inside, nice interior system, and very safe/easy to drive. Main thing I'd say with any electric buyer would be to rent the car and drive it around because my spouse has had some dizziness after driving it which apparently is very common. That's the only reason why I can't give it a 5 star rating.

Ioniq 6 is the Tesla killer
The car is quiet and easy to drive. I would buy another one and would also recommend them. I’d like to see some improvement in the deeper menu items, maybe make the items searchable. Navigating through all the choices… if that’s the worst problem we can deal with it. Happy owners.

Pleasant surprise!
My daily commute is 10 miles to work and 10 miles home. I wanted to try an EV for all the usual reasons. 80% of my driving iOS within 50 miles of home. I found an Ioniq 6 while attending a convention. It had all the features and color I was looking for so I made what might be considered a rash decision. Worth it!. It has exceeded my expectations. Sporty to drive, lots of fun tech, and great range. If you’re looking for an electric vehicle, that is not an SUV or a truck, the IONIQ 6 sedan is ideal. I have the SEL model and agree with the Edmunds reviewers that it is the best value and quality for the price.
