Can't get parts to repair
On April 23, 2024 I leased a 2024 Hyundai Elantra Limited. On May 9th it was in the dealership for a complete electrical failure. Did not get the vehicle back until June 14, 2024, because it required a complete wiring harness replacement, and this part was not available. This was not the dealerships fault but the manufacturer who fail to keep their dealerships supported. With all the other available options, why choose Hyundai?

parts continuously fail quickly after repairs
after 8k miles of driving my car was serviced with hyundai. Only after this servicing have I had continuous false oil level lights. after replacing the faulty sensor the same problem persists. car is only at 8.5k miles and was purchased new in august of 2023 as a sel convience package. There’s no reason for an oil sensor to fail so early in ownership or to fail again only 3 days after replacing the faulty components. the 2.0 “nu” hyundai engines are seseptable to piston slap and oil passageway defects that can lead to engine failure, so this continuous oil light doesn’t exactly make me feel confident when driving especially when hyundai mechanics can’t solve this issue. This car is so frustrating, go with a civic or a mazda 3. the elantra lacks power especially at low rpm’s and the emergency brake assist is a little wonky. the elantra looks nice but is made so cheap, the warranty and safety features are the only saving grace when comparing this car to rivals. If such basic components of my car are continuously failing so early, i don’t want to see what troubles this car gives in years to come. I’m curious if the 1.6t n line models offer increased reliability or if all of the elantra models are this finicky.

Sporty and savvy!
I’ve only had the car 1 week, but so far I’ve gotten 52 mpg with mostly city driving. I got the limited trim with the leather seats and sunroof. I love it!
Glitchy
I have not felt confident in this car yet. The brakes make an odd grinding sound sometimes. The lighting on the inside will dim and then go back to bright a few minutes later. And now a huge recall which says the vehicles can catch fire due to an oil pump has been issued. This car is going to be a headache. I should have held out for the Honda.

Door locks not working correctly
With a little over 1000 miles the car started not locking by touching the door handle. Took it to the dealership where I bought it and they told me they reset the lock module. It worked for two week. While 15 away from the car it started chirping at me no lights just a fast chirping sound. The door unlocked normally by placing my hand in door handle but when I got home it would not lock with the touch of my finger. Had to lock it with the key FOB. While cleaning my wife’s 2023 Tucson that was a few way the doors started to chirp lights flashed on the side mirrors did this two or three times though maybe the unlock button on the Key FOB was accidentally being push, do I took the FOB out of my pocket and laid it on the hood of my wife’s Tucson nope it still did the same thing. It will be round two to the dealer.
