Used 2007 Hyundai Elantra Consumer Reviews
Ok for secondary car. Not too expensive to repair.
In 2019 we bought a used 2007 Elantra severly beaten for $1000. But we had to invest another $2500 to make it run.. and still it is far from new.. The rear suspension sank. This type of vehicle does not have any way to adjust caster toe and camber in the rear.. hyundai went cheap on this one.. you will need to buy adjustable control arms in the rear to fix anything related to the rear suspension. This vehicle also use timing belt.. so that will require to be changed and it is not a cheap job... especially if you do the water pump. Transmission is not great.. we had to replace it at 100000 miles too, luckily we were able to swap with a 2009 tranny that only had 30000 miles.. the first tranny had serious seal and solenoid problems causing limp mode.. solenoid are inside the tranny thus difficult to remove, rebuilding the automatic tranny was a $2-3k job..not worth it.. so we just swaped it. We had few rust holes near the catalyc and under the car .. this can be fixed with a torch job,, don't waste your time with welding compound or heat patch.. use a real torch. This is our secondary vehicle.. our primary car is a beautiful jeep wrangler jku.. so for fuel economy and thievery sometime i use the elantra for those quick errands.. who would want to steal an elantra? The handling is good.. better than our jeep.. i have no doubt that when new the elantra feels great but engineering speaking.. its a cheap car.. designed to make you think it is good. You pay for what you get.

I love my hyundai car!
I have had my elantra for almost a year now. I want to advise anyone out there looking for a car to make sure to look at this one. The fuel economy is good, about 30 mpg but i do a lot of highway driving. The size is wonderful. I'm very tall and it was the only car I looked at that I didn't feel cramped in. The best thing about my car was the price. I spent about 3000 dollars less.
Great Car!
Overall I love my Elantra. When I was looking to buy a new car last year, I singled in on the Elantra because of it's rave reviews and all the comparisons people were making between it and similar vehicles (Toyota Corolla and Honda Civic) in terms of dependability and other perks. My previous vehicle was a Toyota Corolla (so far I like the Elantra just as much). During the first year of ownership I've not had any mechanical problems (knock on wood) and have had to do minimal maintenance on it. It's exactly what I wanted in a vehicle.
Elantra a solid build
Good build. Fuel economy at 65 rates around 35-37 mpg. Got 45 drafting a semi at 60 the other day so all in how you drive.
Kory The Korean
For the last year, I have been the excited owner of this remarkable economy car. Driving this vehicle is an absolute pleasure as it is very comfortable, quick, and excellent on gas. I have taken several road trips including a 3000-mile round trip to Arizona and have never been more comfortable in a vehicle, especially not one of this size. The dashboard layout is impeccable and the lights are beautiful. The engine noise is minimal and returns fantastic performance, even while climbing 6% mountain grades in northern AZ. With 48,000 miles, this car gives me great reason to expect several more years of reliability and and pleasurable driving.
