Whats not to love!

Keep in mind this is a compact car. Goes above & beyond others. Engine is a class leader, 173 hp in a compact gets the job done with ease. Most compacts I test drove & considered had less hp, including the sedan version of this car which only has 148hp, the extra 25 horses makes a surprising difference. Acceleration is good, as is the handling and ride comfort. The VW GTI has better handling but costs a lot more, especially if loaded up. Drivers seat has taken a lot of adjusting to get the perfect position, but once you find it, its comfortable. Passengers say the passenger and rear seat are decent as well. Surprisingly there is a ton of headroom for a 6'2 guy! Cargo space, LOTS of it esp with the fold flat seats. Overall this vehicle is very handy and practical with a slightly sporty flair, and the nice thing is that it doesn't look like a regular Elantra, so people often ask what it is, we don't see many GT's around here. Also, great tech package and love Blue-link. Bottom line, Its a great deal, and very reliable. No issues in 40,000 miles.

My wife and I bought this car at the end of 2014 with a baby on the way and needed to trade in our 1997 Subaru Outback. We needed something more reliable and we were thinking we would get a Kia Soul, but I wanted to check out what Hyundai had to offer before we settled for that. The Elantra GT is a world apart from our previous cars. The cabin is quiet. The Bluetooth is fantastic and I've never had any issues making calls or replying to texts (it's speech-to-text, text typing while driving is a stupid thing to do). I also steam music. We have the mid-tier package with sport pedals, blue interior, heated leather seats, and push-button start. The power is a little overwhelming sometimes (I usually drive a 90HP Saturn S-Series), and I catch some (snobbier) drivers by surprise at lights. I'd be nice if Speed Limits were higher to put this car through its paces on twisty roads. I do have fun slamming it through gears and body roll is barely noticeable. The car feels fairly wide, so it corners well, is very responsive, just watch out for curbs with the Passenger-Rear/RR tire. The seats adjust every way you want or need, and the steering wheel adjusts forward and back, up and down. There is plenty of leg and head room and a car seat fits well in the back. It's also very easy to enter and exit, like getting up and sitting down in an office chair (not low like a couch (sports car), not like mounting a bar-stool (SUV, truck). I have noticed though that putting our daughter in her rear-facing seat is cumbersome; hard to avoid hitting her head on the top of the door opening. That's due more to the fact that it's a lower to the ground car rather than an off the ground SUV. I recently was in a Versa Note as a rental and it and my Saturn make the Elantra feel refined, luxurious, and top notch. I don't see how after going to the most recent new car show here that Ford Focus can compare; The Chevy Sonic and Spark are much smaller with no Cruze hatchback; Same for Dodge; VW Golf/Audi A1 is more expensive. Subaru punishes Manual drivers with lower MPG when compared to automatics. I'm sure there are other comparable vehicles that I missed. I only have a few, small points of contention; 6th gear should be lower so that it's below 2,000rpm @ 60 mph (it is hard to find a manual these days with appropriate gear spacing). The infotainment screen brightness is tied to the instrument brightness; I do not like that with DRL lights on the instrument cluster lights are comparatively dark compared to no lights on. The average mpg calculation on the trip odometer is off (errs lower), and instant mpg reading is just a throttle reading: it seems to always be suggesting that I shift into an unreasonably high gear while going uphill (my 2001 Saturn shift light will go off when the accelerator is depressed past a certain point). I do notice wind-buffeting when the rear windows are down which is annoying.

We have a 2006 Elantra GT (and are keeping it for a while longer), which my wife loves to drive, so when it came time to replace our 2006 Sonata (another great car, BTW), we looked at the 2014 Elantra GT. Not only does this year's model have 173 HP, but the 6 speed auto is delightful. We got the Pano sunroof, leather (Driver seat is power) and dual zone air. The car is quiet, smooth, darn good power and decent on fuel. a couple of thou on the odo so far, not a single glitch. The styling is great and space is terrific. Bigger than the Mazda 3 and more reliable than the Focus. We wanted power seat and this was the only one that could do it at a decent price. 2 years later... Still enjoying the car. Love the big sunroof. The car has gotten a bit quieter as it has broken in. Lots of power with 173 hp. Hard to believe this is only a 2 litre engine. Sound system is a little weak though. 3 years...my wife, who drives the Elantra GT more than me, says this is by far the best car and the most fun to drive she's ever had. And she's not a car person at all. No problems at all. Not one. Just oil changes and basic maintenance activities. 5 years now...still have it. Still without problems. Dealer tries to sell me on various things for no value, although I did have the brakes serviced but that’s just normal wear and tear. We go off warranty in May this year so will switch to my own mechanic and start using synthetic oil. 6 years and it’s been trouble free. Oil change is now synth and going annual because we don’t do the mileage to warrant more often, otherwise all good. May need another brake service in the spring, we will see. Just coming up on 7 years...did rear brakes last fall. First battery replacement yesterday. Otherwise, no issues. Not driving much due to Covid restraints, though. Update: On our way to 8 years. No issues. Still enjoy the peppy engine and panoramic roof. Too bad they aren’t making these with leather interior any more because it still looks great! Update: Still got it! No problems. It’s 10 years old! Drives great, looks great. Everything still works. Best car ever!

With dealer incentives, I was able to get an excellent deal on this base model Elantra GT which was already a good value before the incentives. I only have 100 miles on it so far, so this is more of a first impressions review, and the first thing I note is that I really liked the exterior styling. The Windy Sea Blue is really beautiful in the sunlight. On closer inspection, the fit and finish quality is outstanding. It's a very 'solid' car. Shut a door, and there is a reassuring thud of solidity. Interior controls are a bit busy. Still trying to figure things out, but the voice recognition is very helpful. 29.5mpg so far, but it's mostly in-town driving. Fun car to drive, and I'm happy! UPDATE after 2 years and 15000 miles: Still loving this car! In mixed driving, I'm now getting around 31.5 mpg. Bluetooth functionality has been excellent and reliable paired w/ my Android phone. I'm able to get a bicycle in the back with the seats down which is nice. I do wish the climate control labels were larger; I can't make them out without my reading glasses on, but I'm aware of where things are now. I haven't used the steering controls options (sport/normal/comfort) as much as I thought I would. I just leave it on normal. Back seat area is quite comfortable and spacious for passengers. I've only done normal maintenance on the car, and all is good. UPDATE after 4 years and 26,000 miles: Still a great car. No problems. Gas mileage has actually now improved to 32.5 or more. (On one long drive on an interstate, I got 38mpg for the tankful.) The only maintenance has been oil changes and tire rotations. UPDATE: After 6+ years and 43,000 miles: Still no problems beyond regular maintenance and a brake job. Still enjoying the vehicle. UPDATE 2/2022: 49k miles and still no problems. All good! UPDATE 2/2023 54k and all good! Great car UPDATE 2/2024 New tires and an alignment, but all still great

I have a 2014 Hyundait Elantra GT. At first I was a bit ify on purchasing this car. I was offered a great price, so I took it. This was my first hatchback purchase, I normally would drive mid size SUVs. A downer I do have is the sound system isn't all that great. My Ford Escape was a lot better when it came to the speakers, of course they are stock. The other thing is for as small as it is, I do find myself filling up with gas quite often, but I don't mind. One thing I will say about this car, is that it doesn't get the reviews it deserves. This is a really really great vehicle! It's sporty, quick, economical. I purchased mine in automatic, but popping it into manual is also a option. It's a lot of fun. I've actually raced a couple of friends that have mazdas and Subaru in hatchback like the GT, and the GT always comes out winning strong. I LOVE my Elantra GT:)

First off, I wanted to dislike this car, it wasn't my first choice for a new car. The deal that I was offered was too good to pass up so I took it. Needless to say, over time this car has really grown on us. I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of get-up-and-go for a compact, 173hp, one of the highest in this class especially for the price. Paired with being lightweight = nimble & quick. Unlike the slow, boring Elantra sedan. I recently read Hyundai uses a special metal that's safer yet more lightweight than the traditional which helps with performance & MPGs. Ride comfort is good compared to others in this class, though it can get a little drifty on certain surfaces due to being lightweight. Took a while to get my seating position exact but seats are very comfortable, nice bolstering, and one thing I love is the interior materials, easy to clean, good quality and should hold up well long-term. Ergonomics are excellent in the Elantra GT, as are the quality of materials. After driving a luxury car as my previous vehicle, I am impressed with the fit and finish of this Hyundai. It has great cargo space, especially with the seats down, and the styling on the outside is unique as opposed to the sedan version. The GT has a lot of standard features, fog lights, heated seats etc...Plus the warranty can't be beat. The only complaint I have on the vehicle is that it could use a little better speakers, they're not awful by any means though and the key Fob is really cheap, looks like it's from 1990, but those really are the only complaints. If you are considering cars like the Focus hatchback,Mazda 3 hatchback, Forte 5, VW Golf etc...I think for the $$ Hyundail Elantra GT is worth a look, you definitely get a lot of bang for your your back. I've driven each of the cars I listed and none were so good as to pass up the Elantra GT, especially for the price! Plus, you don't see the GT all over the streets, and I kind of like having something a little more rare.

I only have a couple hundred miles on the odo but here is my initial review. Comfortable but the seats could be a little wider and have more leg support. It has the smoothest shifting manual I have ever driven which is good because I prefer automatic for a daily driver. Picked the car up for 15,900 after rebates. It has the style package with Leather. Ride is fantastic and I love the selectable steering feel. Gas mileage has been 30mpg in mixed driving and its not even broken in. Bluetooth and voice activation work perfectly.

So I’ve hade my 2014 Hyundai Elantra GT with manual transmission for about 4.5 years. It currently has 91k on it. First the good: cabin is quiet and solid. The material inside is of food quality. The handling is tolerable. Mine supposedly has sport tune suspension. I feel German cars handle better. Know the bad: my catalytic converters went bad. Not sure why. The interesting part is I have to buy from the dealer and the assembly cost is $990. There is one approved after market CAT but does not have the O2 port. But I live in California and the state finds a way get your money. Also, the car is way under powered. It does get a little more pick up with premium unleaded but that adds cost and I specifically went for a car the ran on unleaded regular. Overall I was happy with the car until I had to sink $1k into it because of the CAT problem.

The Hyundai Elantra GT is basically a comfortable and enjoyable vehicle; easy and comfortable to handle on the road and it gives good mpg. Even though I did not purchase one with the many luxury features I enjoy driving it. My son loved ECO feature and thinks it made a difference in the MPG. I am not excited of that feature, because it seems to me that I get the same whether its on or off. I enjoy driving this vehicle now although at first it seemed to be a little lower than normal. It took me a little while to get used to sitting so close to the road, that might have been so because I've been seating high for a few years in my old trucks and loving it! In any case, I got used to the Elantra GT and its features and now I;m enjoying driving it. I like and the comfortable seats and especially the sound system. The brakes are really there when needed and the hatchback holds plenty. I love the steering wheel, it's comfortable to hold onto. I am not a fan of the way in which the dashboard connects to the windshield. It seems unusual and awkward to reach. A few times I find myself struggling to retrieve an item that slid toward the front and somehow is very hard to reach - pen, note pad, paper or even sun glasses. The forward movement at times may have caused whatever it is to wedge into the narrow slanting front. If the item happens to be the size of a credit card, then prepare to pry and struggle for a while to retrieve it! The Elantra GT is an overall good, comfortable vehicle - Not much fancy features, but in my opinion, you get your money's worth .

This car has everything. Electric seats. Heated seats with lumbar support. Passenger and driver side and seat airbags. Blue tooth. Two USB ports and an additional outlet dedicated to an iPod. Controls on the steering wheel. A rear windshield wiper. Large storage in the hatchback. The storage compartment has a cover to hide what you have in it, but it can be removed, and the rear seats folded down to give you a larger storage area. I believe the windows are tinted. The rear view mirror has special controls on it. The Driver's side view mirror has a smaller mirror in it. The stereo has a nice sound with pre-set buttons. The controls are very easy to learn. It's keyless entry and keyless start. A lot of extras. And I got it at a great price. It was listed on line for $2000 less than the sticker price and the Dealership (Lester Glenn Hyundai) honored the on-line price and was very eager to work with me.

UPDATE 12/19/17: Year and a half with the vehicle and about 70,000 miles on the car. It's been on about4-5 road trips up and down the east coast. Now averaging just under 1000 miles a week for everyday use. It should be going down. I purchased an old wrangler to run around town in to help keep the miles off the GT. Happy with the performance. It does well on the highway and the city streets. (sounds like a race car and always has when accelerating.) The interior is still in great shape even with my dogs and work supplies beating it up every day. I decided not to trade in the vehicle as of now, but would prefer a larger SUV. As stated in my previous review, it's simply too small. The 60,000 mile mark is where I started to need service. A few simple things like brake lights and blinker lights. Then the car started hesitating while shifting so I had a little bit of engine maintenance that was roughly $500.00. Probably going to need the lifters replaced within the next 10,000K miles. MPG is still about 31 with a 50/50 split highway and city miles. Everyone I have talked to who owns one, loves it and is very happy. UPDATE: 6/15/17- Still very happy with the car. I get about 31mpg. I drive roughly 1000 miles a week combined hwy and rural. Couple things that I would change, is the door vacuum and the folding seats in the back. I would prefer that the back seats fold down flush, similar to how they work in a Honda Fit. Not having it flush can pose an issue with dogs and other things I tote like tables and chairs. Overall, I like the car. It has been a full year since I bought. But I would be lying if I didn't write that I am looking to trade it in ASAP. It's simply too small. It's too small for my animals, for my work supplies, my friends, for large grocery hauls, ect. It would be great as a "normal" driver car. To work and the basics. Purchased this vehicle when my 2008 Hyundai Sonata quit after 200,000 miles. Before purchasing this vehicle I shopped on the internet for about a week. What I needed was a compact vehicle with 4 doors, Hatchback, large cargo area with and without backseat folded down, good MPG and a vehicle that could go the distance. I drive roughly about 1000 to 1500 miles per week, so a vehicle that could keep up was essential. I looked at comparable cars such as the Hyundai Accent Hatchback, Ford Focus Hatchback, Ford C-Max hybrid, Toyota Prius Hybrid, Nissan Vensa, Chevy Spark, Honda Fit and several others. After comparing them they all had great reviews and the features I was looking for, so it came down to proximity. After test driving many of the vehicles and comparing them on the road I loved the Elantra GT hatchback. I bought a 2014 with 7000 miles on it. Silver exterior with blue interior and an automatic engine. I absolutely love this vehicle. It's sporty and compact but comfortable for someone my size (5'10, 220 LBS) handles great on all surfaces and elements, has great driver controls and is large enough to fit 4 adults comfortably. The things I wish were a bit more comparable with other compact cars is the MPG and the cargo space. Also, the doors are extremely difficult to close. I literally have to slam them, and the road noise cancellation is not what it could be. I work in both the city and rural areas. If I'm mainly in the city my MPG is steady 25-28 and in the rural areas 30-33. I fill up about every two days. The cargo space is "ok". If you are using this vehicle for life such as groceries, soccer gear or family. I am sure the cargo space will be sufficient for you. But I load it up with work equipment and gear and there simply is not enough room for me. Overall I am really happy with this purchase. It has great features depending on the model you choose, it fits a budget and it's a versatile and stylish car that I would definitely recommend for compact car buyers.

We liked our first Gt so much we bought a 2nd! These are great vehicles compared to the competition when you weigh in all the factors. Styling is unique, don't see many on the road, lots of compliments! Decent riding and driving dynamics, plus higher HP than others in the compact hatchback segment. Test drove Focus, Mazda 3, Golf, Sonic and Forte5. The Forte 5 and Sonic Turbo tied for a close 2nd. The warranty, maint pkg and price we paid made the GT a no brainier. It's every much as nice, actually nicer that the others. While the others are all decent cars the uniqueness of the Gt really stood out, with all the other positives. Love the fold flat seats, we haul a ton of cargo in this compact, and great MPGs too! Could not be happier. Hyundai does need to make a better key fob though, that's our only complaint

The 2014 Elantra GT 6-speed base with blue leather interior is difficult to find but has just about everything one could hope for. Leather. Power driver's seat. Tilt/telescope adjustment on the steering wheel. Headlights. An amazing panoramic sunroof. Navigation system with Bluetooth. The driving experience is beyond anything else available in this size class, and I've test-driven them all. The shifting is smooth, the engine is responsive. It does require downshifting to capture necessary passing power, but you're getting a stickshift because you enjoy that...right? The navigation system is so-so. There doesn't seem to be any HD radio capability, which is disappointing in a 2014 that is otherwise fully loaded. And this particular car came without an auto-dimming homelink mirror, and the side mirrors are not auto-dimming either. I forgot how bright headlights can be without auto-dimming mirrors! That's about it for the negatives. The car has amazing disappearing rear seats for a fully-flat fold-down in case of larger cargo. The blue leather is awesome, seat heat is adequate, there are enough cup holders, and most importantly the driving experience is Beyond Awesome (TM). Hyundai really messed up with this car, though -- apparently leather (et. al.) is not available in a stickshift for the 2016 model year. Are you kidding me?

This car was a great compact 5 door hatchback. For the 3 years we had it, it NEVER gave us ANY trouble at all! Takes on snow like it's nothing. Adequately quiet and smooth ride. Great sound system, with standard USB and auxiliary jacks. It has a neat cooled glove box compartment. Decent gas mileage. Great cargo space, considering the size of the vehicle. The front seats have modest bolsters that hold you in during sharp turns. The only complaints are ease of certain maintenance (e.g. oil changes), no automatic climate control, and a small backseat (however, it's bigger than say, a Fiesta). Would buy one again.

Faulty Engine

Bought this car in 2018 with 60k miles on it. Had all the extras - bluetooth, sunroof, leather, navigation, etc. Really enjoyed it for what it was: small & economical. Lowest car I have ever driven, so I was surprised when I blew a tire on a pothole, but I guess that comes with this type of car. Changed the oil and kept with regular maintenance then one day heard a slight knocking from the engine. By the time I made it to my destination it was loud (like you could hear it across the parking lot). Apparently there is a "known" problem that causes metal to enter the oil/pistons, ultimately rendering the engine useless. Though the car is under 100k miles, I am not the original owner so it is not covered under warranty. It has also not been recalled. Got a quote for $3k-$4k replacement, then waited a month so I could save for it. Now there are no available engines because there is such a demand. Now it's just a nice looking driveway ornament. This may not be every experience, but I know it's not singular.

Don’t buy this car, seriously don’t, I’ve had more work done to this car than the entire kardashian family, first was the transmission, lost 5th gear. It was whatever at the time because it was under warranty, then the motor goes out 3 months later with a head seal gasket being blown, next to go was the clutch 2 days after the motor came back and the car was fixed, following this was the ecu, so basically new car right ? Wrong, I’m getting ready to put a third motor in this car, because it’s cheaper than buying a new one. And honestly it’s astonishing the amount of work I’ve had done on this car, my local Hyundai dealer is absolutely trash, and the manufacturer of this car is just as bad. Save yourself 13 grand and buy a Honda.

Great Hatchback

I am leasing this car mostly because of the great deal that I got but more than likely will buy it out at the end of the lease. AWESOME gas mileage, I drive in the ECO mode all the time and consistanly get at least 36 mpg. I drive the speed limit but don't go over, so that make a big difference in the gas mileage. Also I don't 'rabbit' start my car. The interior is roomy and very comfortable. Not a much space as my old 2005 Toyota Matrix but pretty close. LOVE the blue-tooth, I will never go without that option again. Car has plenty of speed and power, will be anxious to see how it does in the snow.

Worst car ever had!! Did not even last for the 5 year financing. Motor shot after 4 & half years. Manufacture said they could do nothing for me. I changed the oil religiously every 5k miles. Talked to a mechanic,,,,said he knew someone with the same problem. Another mechanic called them trash cars. DO NOT BUY A HYUNDAI. The manufacture won't stand behind them. There is even recalls on motors! Ended up buying a Toyota,,,should have done that in the first place. was treated like I didn't know anything. Been working on my own car for 40 years. Still will never buy another Hyundai!

I've had my GT for about 4 months now. At first the car seemed sluggish, but as I put a few miles on (now 4,000 miles) performance is great and MPG equal to the EPA figure. Couple tricks I learned: When in manual, start in 2nd. Only use sport steering mode on windy days. I use sport most of the time and keep it there. I went from a 2000 Grand Prix thinking there was not going to be enough room for 4 adults in comfort. I was wrong. Took a weekend trip with 4 adults and nobody complained about room plus room for all our luggage. Sometimes going uphill, seems to be searching for the right gear, so I switch to manual mode and works better. I've now owned the car going on 3 years. Fuel economy around town is lower than expected, but could be that my trips are short and stopped at many traffic lights for longer than normal. Handling is better than ever and it will not disappoint. Sometimes, when accelerating from slow or stop it can lag, but once going it picks up nicely. I have had no mechanical problems or issues so far. The only thing out of the norm is that the daytime running lights have both needed to be replaced sooner than normal. My last car they lasted over ten years before replacing the same. I still have not had any issues that need to replace tires, belts or brakes. Pleasant surprise. Seats are still comfortable. Still, the only things on my wish list that could be improved are: More power, better stereo, cooled seats, switching the placement of the odometer and tachometer. Otherwise, this car still keeps a smile on my face, especially when I can take her through the twisties where driving is the best.

Almost as good as a Mazda3; update

This is my 3rd review of my 2014 Elantra GT, manual. I still think this is a great car, had it for a year and a half now---wonder why there are not more of them on the road. The gas mileage is low 30s at best, maybe that's why. I still think it's up there with the Mazda3, but I still miss the driving dynamics of a Mazda. I'm tempted to trade it/sell it for a new Mazda3 hatchback, but this car has everything I want, so I'm thinking it would be silly to unload it with less than 20,000 miles on the odometer; maybe in a year or two after I have another 20K on it. I've had no mechanical problems with this Elantra GT and certainly don't anticipate any in the next several years. It seems to be very well built.

Great overall small car

The Elantra GT hatchback is a very versatile small car. Great styling, performance, and interior room. Fold down the rear seats and you have a large cargo area. One of the largest in the small hatchback category. The 173 hp engine provides very good performance. Never feels like the car is "straining" like many small cars with less horsepower do. The handling is very sports car like. Very quick and precise. The cars wide track, and coil spring suspension design make an effective package. I have owned the car for two years. No problems. Would buy one again. A lot of standard features that you have to pay extra for in other small cars.

2014 Elantra GT w/25,000 miles and front brake inner pads worn down to metal & inner rotors badly scored, outer pads & rotors not even 50% worn!!! Gerald Hyundai in North Aurora, IL says not covered IW, I don't drive enough?!?! Apparently Hyundai dealers DON'T stand behind the product they sell. I have seen hundreds of other Elantra drivers with similar issues & are told the same BS excuse!!

Disappointed - Hyundai blames purchaser for lousy paint job on new car

Purchased new after gave Pontiac Vibe to daughter (LOVED that car) Elantra is LESS THAN. Commute 60 miles turnpike driving. Cannot drive on highway w/windows open without car shaking, Noise level is intolerable, like being in a wind tunnel. Angle of driver's seat tilts your knees up, not adjustable and very uncomfortable for me (5'9"). After one winter paved highway driving, front bumper paint started chipping off. Dealer #1 said repainted before purchase. Selling Dealer denied - says it is my fault, "drove thru gravel. Same commute Vibe 6 years - no chipping. No response from Hyundai Customer Relations. You have lost a customer(and all her huge family) Hyundai.

I should have known better. Hyundai is a company that sells cheap cars, manufactured using cheap parts, resulting in a cheap product that cannot withstand the rigours of daily driving. I will never purchase a car manufactured by Hyundai or any of its affiliates again.

I bought my Elantra gt used at 45k miles, I now have 71k on it and I must say, it's lovely. The only services I've gotten done on it was the recommended stuff such as trans fluid, GDI service, air filters, brakes, and oil+filter changes. My family of 4 (including the dog and a <1year old baby) fits well in it, the back seat is a little cramped with a rear-facing car seat but it's not too uncomfortable during long 5+ hour drives. The stereo which I found out is rated at 225watts with 6 speakers is actually impressive compared to other stock speaker systems I've run into including newer ones and ones with 8 speakers. I have the base model with none of the frills besides the automatic, so my view is from the base model radio which just has Bluetooth and Sirius but that's about it, though it's good enough. I had the joy of driving the manual version at a used car lot with 121k on it and it was lovely as well, nearly traded in my wife's car for it I loved it so much. I do oil changes every 5k miles, get it detailed twice a year, and follow the recommended services for the car from the owners' manual. I purchased the extended warranty up to 100k miles and I'm worried I won't use it since nothing broke yet (knock on wood). For its class, It's strong and fast and boy does this car love to go fast, my wife and I will often find ourselves up near 80-90mph if we don't pay attention to let off of the gas. Since Hyundai won't be bringing the GT back this year I'm looking at the hybrid sonata or Ioniq. I cannot wait for Hyundai to turn the Santa Fe, Venue, or Palisade into a hybrid, when that happens ill be buying one of them since the car is getting a little small for the family. It'll be nice to have an SUV again.

This was a great little car until one day the motor seized. No warning. Oil changes were done on a regular basis. There is a known problem with these cars. Avoid at all cost! We were lucky that we had the motor replaced 100% paid for by Hyundai, but many owners are not so lucky. Look it up.

I have owned this car since July 2014 and have to say it is one of the best cars I have ever owned. No issues mechanically or otherwise as long as you maintain it with regular maintenance. I have had to change the battery and the GPS had to be fixed once, but other than those two things, nothing else.

Never roll down the windows, the wind sound will deafen you. Beware of cold weather, the hatchback latch area will fill with snow, melt and freeze so you won't be able to reach the latch. Finally, this vehicle skitters all over the road like a hyper-active 2 year old. Better tires will help, so will changing the Flex Steering to Sport Mode but on a moderate-to-bad winter day, this car gets left at home.
