So far ,so good
So far, so good. The Mileage is better than I expected. EPA rates the manual @ 32/35. I have been getting 35.79 average mpg after the first 2500 miles. This is with a 30city/70hwy commute. This is driving 65/70 on the hwy. Purchased this vehicle for a daily 130 mile round trip commute. I could only afford to spent a set amount. I asked my mechanic about choosing a vehicle. Asked him about a brand new Accent, or a one year old Corolla. He said buy the Hyundai. This came as a shock initially. But he has family memebers with Hyundai vehicles with similar commutes. Frankly I really expected to be led to the Corolla, having reservations about Hyundai's reputation from the past.
Excellent Vehicle!
Very cute and modern design. Great gas mileage! Performs like a small sports car while providing great safety features. Worth every penny.

sweet little car
going from a full size to a compact was a little tough at first, but i've been very pleased with the accent. very good on gas. been averaging 36mpg. comfy on my 40min drive to work. handles well on back roads and highway. roomy trunk for a compact. like the interior, except the carpeting is chintzy. exterior is nice also, liked it much better in person than in pics online. had it a month with no problems. plenty of standard features. price was better than toyota or scion.
Bang for my buck
I just wanna say that I love my 2006 Accent it has a ton of stuff that most economy cars dont have like 4 wheel ABS ,front and side air bags , several cup holders , armrest in the front pass side and rear seat. 4 wheel disk breaks, CD player with 6 speaker system , and a Tachometer with rebate I paid 12,500 with the manual Trans. I think this is the best Deal on the market and the new design for 06 is sweet mine is wine red and it gets 35 mpg so far.
Affordable , sporty and safe
We have only had this car 1 week, but the husband loves the great gas milage he's getting. We picked the Accent over the Elantra b/c the ABS & the 8 air bags came standard, on the Elantra they are options. We choose the sports package that includes A/C, power windows and door locks, heated mirror,15 inche alloy wheels and an alarm system. After the rebate, dealer fees, tax, & tags, we walked out the door paying $13,775. We feel we got a great price. Thank you Edmunds and other car websites that help the consumer get the best deal for their dollar. Also helpful was the dealers inventory pages. With our research in hand we were able to confidently walk into a dealership ready.
