This is all the truck 80% of the people who own trucks need. All you weekend Warriors, all you DIY guys, people who like to go camping , fishing, hunting & or hiking , this has a true all wheel drive similar to Subaru not some on demand , but all wheel drive all the time… now I’m not talking to the guys on the job sights doing heavy construction, or hauling a 27’ 5th wheel horse trailer; but for your average Joe. This one will do most things more comfortably, with better fuel consumption, & being a naturally aspirated well established V6, a well established 9 speed transmission… & It’s a Honda; it should be an easy 350K -500K mile vehicle. I’ve owned other “real” trucks & yes, they were fine, but this is a step above. I got the Sport in Crystal White. I don’t need all the extras of the Trail Sport, i didn’t like the Chrome on the RTL, i also prefer cloth seats to leather in my trucks & the Black Edition just cost too much. (BTW if you’ve been looking to get one… now is the time. They aren’t selling & they are willing to deal to move them off the lots & with the 25’s about to come out, go grab yourself one) Anyways, it’s a great ride, parking is easier than in my larger trucks I’ve had… it’s still no Civic, but it is nimble. And they listened to the public’s input & gave us back the physical nobs for volume control, and a physical auto starter kill switch. If your in the market for a family friendly vehicle that has all the utilities of a mid sized truck at least go & test drive one, I’m sure you’re going to be pleased.

I’m a life long Honda fan. I’ve also had a Mercedes sedan, a Mustang V8, and Lexus LX. Honda gives the best bang for the buck. After 18 years owning a 2006 Odyssey, I researched pickups to death and picked the Ridgeline BE. It’s the perfect size for my use. Can still park in the city. As for “it’s not a truck!”, I beat my Odyssey harder than most truck guys work their pickups. There are more minivans in Home Depot than pickups. The Ridgeline is a beefed up Odyssey/Pilot platform so I’m not worried about durability. The ride is excellent except the tires feel firm or heavy on washboard roads but better than a truck based pickup. The ground clearance is on the low end of the scale at around 7.5”. If it becomes an issue, I’ll install a Flatout coil over kit in the future. Honda engineers vehicles to the umpteenth. You park somewhere and think “will the door or hatch or tailgate still open?” And it still opens. The seats are very comfortable and have memory which is the height of luxury for me. The ECO mode makes a big difference. Feels like a Mercedes starting in second gear. Turn off ECO and turn on Sport mode and the RL feels like a race car. I guess I’ll figure out the sweet spot between the engine and transmission. This engine maybe the last of the V6 VTECs which also prompted me to buy. Toyota Tacoma is a first model year and going turbo 4 and hybrid, Ford and GM are turbo 4s. I won’t buy a first year model change again. Even Toyota Lexus have teething problems. My fearless prediction is the Ridgeline will outlast them all and provide a much better ownership experience. Pet peeve: the ‘Black Edition’ emblem in the grill and the HONDA on the tailgate are chrome. I painted the one on the grill black and removed the HONDA on the back. She’s Darth Vader Black now. The BE stereo is fantastic. I live in the North East so I sprayed the undercarriage with CorrosionX. Oil based undercoating is superior to paint undercoating. I’m considering disabling the Variable Cylinder Management and the Idle Stop features for increased engine and motor mount longevity. The in bed trunk is huge. Fits two big plastic bins. I’ll replace the donut spare and shelf with a full size spare. Too soon to report on mpg. She’s good looking, rides great, and an all round competent vehicle. Hope this helps you. Cheers.

I started my truck search with no interest in the Ridgeline. I saw so much about the Ridgeline not being a truck and I liked the looks of other brands. I went with the Ridgeline. 6 cyl engine. I’ve had a number of dependable 4 cyl cars and loved them but trying to power a truck with a 4 cyl by turboing it seems like a lot of strain on a little 4 cyl. The mfg engineers will say I’m wrong. I hope they are right but I have seen a lot of great new innovations turn out to be great for the repair shops. Regardless I thought I would suck it up and just buy an extended warranty until I drove them. Under acceleration and at highway speeds the 4 cyls were quite loud, not a muscular sound, more like a struggling vacuum. The Ridgeline has the full time 4 wheel drive. With the varying road conditions, I like not having to worry about tearing up my drive line as in, is this stretch of road, too dry so I need to shift out of 4 wheel, and now I’m slipping on this stretch or slipping starting off at an intersection so kick it back in. The cabin was more spacious, seemed higher end with a lot less molded plastic, leather seats, the screen is not raised up into the windshield so it wasn’t as distracting. The info system is very easy to operate and it is easy to turn off/adjust the systems that annoy you. The back seat has a lot more leg room and isn’t cramped like the others. No need to move up the drivers seat so a passenger can sit face forward. The bed is bigger as it is more usable, being wide enough for a 4 ft sheet between the wheel wells and low profile wheel wells. The other beds seemed to lose about 30% of space due to their wheel wells. It doesn’t look as tough as other trucks but truck enough for me. Some things I found after having it for a while, The headlights annoy me as they do not have an off setting, the lowest setting is auto. I don’t need the lights coming on when I pull into the garage. The sun roof I didn’t want to have to take in the package, turns out to be nice in that if I crack it open a bit, I can drive with the windows down and not get that wind buffeting. The trunk is super, I can lock the tools, fishing electronics, any valuables in it. Not only are my things safe but with them in the trunk, I have more room in the box. The two way tailgate is a major back saver when loading or unloading. To sum it up, this vehicle that others claim is not a truck is a super handy truck for me.

I paid $45K OTD for a 2024 RTL Platinum White Pearl, Gray Interior, including functional and utility packages and full set of visors. The MSRP is $46.7K. It is a sport car for me and perfect utility truck for my family. The Honda V6 engine is the most exciting I have driven. Nine-speed AT lacks torques at lower gears, but it is buttery smooth with higher gears, and I only need to push the pedal for a couple of seconds to go to higher gears. HW driving is very good. Handling is precise. Honda sensing works effectively. It brings relaxation, confidence, and safety to my daily drive. This is a thoughtfully designed truck with in-bed trunk and cargo net. Compared to my last Pilot 2017 EX-L, this truck is clearly a better vehicle. Unibody frame bring the stiffness to the drive, but the suspension system works flawlessly. The SHAW (used in Accura MDX) handles bad road like a champ. If you want a truck to climb rocks, don't buy this truck because of the 7.6" ground clearance and no swaybar disengage mechanism. But this truck is buttery smooth and drives like an MDX.

Two fill ups into the break in period. First tank it got 24.4 mpg with a lot of idling (Idle Stop off) and city driving. On a highway trip, where I even kept the ECO off and downshifting so the engine speed keeps changing, it got 27.6 mpg. I can’t wait to see what I can eke out of her.

love the truck, plenty of power, comfortable, reliable. But, the information system, collision mitigation system and tiny buttons that operate the fan/defroster/temp controls, etc are terrible and I wish I could rip them out of the truck and replace. the collision mitigation system is particularly annoying because here in NE, roads are narrow and trees are close to the road- the damn system is constantly activating and the front wheels shake- not exactly safe in the winter on snowy roads. For that reason alone I will not purchase another honda/acura until they clean up the electronic information systems.

I drove a 2020 RTL for a little over 4 years. It was a great truck, but it lacked the creature comforts of the 2024 Black Edition. Like many others, I had been waiting for the presumed redesign of the Ridgeline platform. Now that the 2024 model year has been released, it is unlikely that any redesign will come before the 2026 model, and in my opinion, will probably lose the V6. The time to buy, with the current update, was at hand. The 2024 is a fantastic upgrade from the 2020, even with the additional accessories. The truck seems much stiffer, is much, much quieter, and drives better overall in every area. The seats are one area of vast improvement, now being ventilated, as well as heated. They feel, and look, very sporty, with strong side bolstering to keep you planted. They are much more comfortable, and that improvement, on road trips, is going to make a huge difference. The blind spot monitor positioned inside the cabin instead of on the mirror, is a big improvement. The truck, like the 2020, is a pleasure to drive, but with the enhancements, even more so. The electronics are vastly improved. The head unit allows wireless Apple CarPlay, and Android, as well as bluetooth. It changes through the different modes very quickly, no delays of several seconds. The graphics on Navigation are improved, and very sharp. I am glad I made the move to upgrade in the 2024 model year.

I recently purchased a new 2025 Honda Ridgeline RTL after spending several months looking at different vehicles (trucks) and test driving. Overall I wanted something that could check all the boxes and compliment my lifestyle. First thing, I like having a truck to haul large items when needed. I don't do a lot of "off roading" but I do like in the mountains and have large property with gravel driveway and lots of uneven surfaces. As a result having a vehicle that can handle this and offers AWD was high of my list. Next I wanted a good quality engine that would be able to last a long time. The Ridgelines 3.5L V6 is a solid engine paired with a great German 9 speed transmission that has good acceleration and butter smooth shifting (up and down). The interior is roomy and comfortable with just enough amenities to be useful and not too much that make it excessive and likely to break over time. The in bed trunk is so great because now I can store my large tool box in there and don't have to have in in the cab (which I did on my previous truck, 2023 F-150). Fit and finish is solid with this vehicle. It drives like a sedan and will fool you into believing your not even driving a truck. This is my first Honda vehicle, I've owned several Toyota Tundras, F150, and Toyota Sequoia, among other smaller vehicles. My biggest concern about buying some of the newer other brand trucks in this segment were the powertrains (all going to turbocharged smaller engines). I believe these are wonderful to drive for about 3-5yrs but likely to start having problems the longer you own them. I really wanted something I could drive until the wheels fall off and I believe this is it. Overall a great vehicle that compliments my life perfectly. Great job Honda!

Collision Avoidance System is a Safety Hazard

Truck is OK, just OK... The Collision Avoidance system is a REAL problem. The system is constantly flashing warnings to BREAK for absolutely no reason! Then my worst fear happened. While traveling at the posted speed of 50 mph, without warning or for any reason (other than the collision warning dash light), the brakes applied with considerable force. So much so, vehicles behind us had to take action to avoid a collision. The vehicle has been taken to the dealer three times for this problem without the problem being fixed. The dealer has been able to duplicate the collision warning light, but not the application of the brakes they claim. The dealer has contacted their Area Parts and Service Director about the problems. His response was that Honda considers the problems as normal for the system. What? The dealer has documented these issues and his statements in the warranty repair orders. Frankly I am scared to death of this vehicle. Honda Customer Service is no help whatsoever. How is any vehicle manufacturer allowed to sell a vehicle with issues such as this? I have also reported the problem to NHTSA. Reviewing the NHTSA website, I find other Ridgeline owners with the same issues. Caveat emptor (let the buyer beware)!

Purchased about a month ago and finally got to take it for a 1100 mile trip. We had 4 adults with luggage on this trip. Pros. Comfortable seating and ride was top notch. Fuel economy was 24.2 mpg for the trip which was what the computer calculated. My math was 23.7 which was not bad at all we ran the ac the whole way temps hit 100 degrees and the ac worked very well. Truck drives very well and the power is there if needed. I did like how the transmission shifted especially running 80 and when it hit a hill to climb never got the revs above 3k. The storage in the back was really nice and kept the bed mostly open we did have a cooler that we hauled. Overall was impressed.

Traded in a 2017 Subaru Outback Limited a couple weeks ago for the Ridgeline Black Edition. I had been looking awhile and test drove a 2023 Ridgeline-E. I didn't like the offer luckily because the 2024 Black Edition turned out to be a lot nicer! I used the online give me your best deal and they did. The 2024 Black Edition did away with the adjustable arm rests for a much nicer and more comfortable arm rest, center console cover. I live in the Gulf South and can't believe how good the seat cooler feels, that's a new addition for sure that is much appreciated if you live in a humid area. The lane assist crushes the Outback in handling curves really well and staying centered in straight a ways. The adaptive cruise control won't bring you to a complete stop like the Outback did and you better do your own braking when it beeps at you. They both start working at 45MPH. The ride is very quite and comfortable for long drives. The app screen is a nice size and easy to use, the stereo is awesome with the Black Edition. The suspension handles the pot holes well and makes for a very comfortable ride. Dislikes, the tailgate won't open if you have the key fob in your pocket, have to use the key fob to open it and the back doors if you are not in the truck. I also don't like how low it sits, the Outback is higher. Overall, I REALLY like it, took a few dealers to get a great deal though.

I have been a Toyota owner for 26yrs , I’ve owned 4Runners Tundras and Tacomas . Bought a 2023 Tundra in April of 23 didn’t like it and sold it to Carmaxx. Bought a 2023 Tacoma in September of 2023 and I traded it for my Ridgeline . I’m very impressed with this truck in many aspects. It’s very quiet , it handles good and Honda a least gives you more for your money. Toyota puts a few black badges and a black tail pipe on and charges 2400 for a black package. I used to drive Honda’s back in the mid 90’s and they were very good but cars. I think for the price the Ridgeline is a good value as a light duty truck with today's prices. Lastly I had a lot of trouble getting people to answer the phone at the Toyota dealership for service so I thought I would try Honda. I still own 2 Toyota’s. I also owned a 2006 Ridgeline years ago poor turning radius is why I didn’t like it . I really like my 2024 .

My first Ridgeline was a 2017 rear wheel drive (2WD) purchases new. The EPA fuel rating was 19 miles per gallon (mpg) in the city and 26 mpg on the highway, for a combined 22 mpg. I typically met or exceeded the EPA rating for the life of the vehicle before I traded it in January 2025 for 2024 Ridgeline. But the 2024 model has a significant flaw. The overall trim and finish are nice for the price and what you would expect from a Honda. The 2024 version had an EPA fuel rating of 18 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway, for a combined 21 mpg and the 24 falls below this bar where my 2017 model met and frequently exceeded the EPA rating over its life. In addition to poor fuel economy, the transmission appears to have a bad reputation which is deserved. It is very sluggish and feels like you are always towing a trailer. It requires a lot of accelerator pressure to make the vehicle move which is probably why the fuel economy is so low. It also freezes and will not accelerate at times. I discovered this passing a car on a two-lane road and it just stopped accelerating and froze at the speed. I had to brake and slide back in behind the vehicle I was passing to avoid the situation deteriorating into a potentially hazardous event. There are some class actions related the ZF9HP transmission which likely contributes to the sluggish performance and fuel economy. The 2017 shifted clean and smooth compared to the 2024 model. It is possible the ZF9HP is the culprit behind the poor shifting, acceleration freezing and bad fuel economy. Honda should be ashamed because it will tarnish their positive record. It has with me.

I'm on my 2nd Ridgeline. I work these trucks hard in the oilpatch, boosting jack engines. Lots of gravel, switchback roads. Prairie trails, mud, snow and they seen -55. Love them!! Been running them 100,000kms and trading. About a years worth, very affordable and durable and are currently keeping up to and outperforming the half tons and 3/4 tons on half the cost. The independent suspension and awd has been superior on gravel and washboard no axle hop or wheel slippage and far less tire wear.The paddle shift is excellent on the riverhills and have found it saves on brakes. Great fuel mileage on highway and suspension doesn't take a pounding on rough terrain!

Just got my second Honda Ridgeline truck and so happy with the decision. Excellent truck with good looks. I can pull my small trailer without problems at all and the mpg is good.

The latest Ridgeline is worth considering. It meets all of my needs and has the comfort/ride of sedan. This year’s edition is missing some of the options I had on my 2022 Ridgeline such as a light in the center console and the conversation mirror, but it has cooled seats and folding mirrors. I noticed the rearview camera is not as crisp/clear as previous editions. Overall it is a good vehicle.

Nice truck. Runs good and eco mode gives outstanding fuel economy. Handles like a Honda Pilot SUV, Bed could be bigger, but it’s more than adequate. The major competitors all ride and drive and suck gasoline like trucks.

Comfortable ride up front, back is tight for full size adults. Camera has low resolution and somewhat disappointing. With that said, the truck, overall, has nice features and rides well. I’d been waiting for a hybrid but unfortunately that was not in store for the 24. I think adding 6 inches in length to the cabin and upping the tech level would really make this truck a standout for 2025.

It's got more bells and whistles than I've ever known a vehicle to have, makes it a blast to drive, but I just wish the mileage were better.

I love my new Honda Ridgeline Trailsport but I have been having issues with the idle switch. All summer the message was adjust climate and now the message reads system is charging/warming up. Half the time the passenger side window doesn't work from the driver's side. I have taken it back to the dealership numerous times and they said there's nothing wrong. As much as I love Hondas, I wish I would have just kept the one I had. I feel the response from the dealership is unexceptable considering how much these vehicles cost. I still believe there's something going on with the electrical system.

I live in North Dakota and I recently bought a 2025 Ridgeline. I really didn’t have any major complaints…until the temperatures dropped. Recently, we have had numerous days with negative temps. One day, my truck would not even start. Most days, the display lights up like a Christmas tree with numerous alerts. It handles fairly well in minimal amounts of snow, but not so good in larger amounts. Would not recommend if you live in areas with colder weather.

Purchased a 2024 Ridgeline RTL in March 2024 and love it. The Edmunds review sums up the truck very well. If you don’t need the towing capacity of a full size pickup and want a truck that drives/rides like a premium SUV, the Ridgeline is perfect. I’ve hauled lumber and towed several trailers weighing around 2,000 pounds and the Ridgeline was not challenged. Truck just passed 10,000 miles and we haven’t had any problem. First service was free as well as the next two.

I've always been a truck gal; I was looking for something a bit more gas friendly and I found it! She's a bit smaller than I'm used to but she's got all the power that I need. I like that I'm not having to fuel up twice a week, I commute for work. So far, so good!

Purchased the 2024 Ridgeline Trail-sport telling myself it was time to let go of my full size Lariet. I have never missed a vehicle so much! The Ridgeline truly does drive like, handle like a car, not a truck. But my Ford had as smooth a ride, with more features! The Ridgeline has its unique qualities, the side open tailgate, storage under the bed but otherwise it does not stand out with regard to features. It does have a power sliding rear window( (something that SHOULD be standard on any truck) but is not. It has a tiny moon roof, if that appeals to folks. I am shocked by the poor gas mileage. My Lariet got better gas efficiency and was a bigger heavier truck. I guess for folks who like the feel of a car but want o be able to haul stuff, this is a dream come true. I prefer higher ground clearance and greater cabin space. The Ridgeline’s back seat is fairly cramped for a crew cab. I’m hoping that with time it will grow on me. But honestly for the price of this truck, I could have done better with another Ford or Chevy.

Love the ride, and conveniente options included in Ridgeline. Westbrook Honda was great to purchase from.

Drove only 500 miles, so everything great . It was great in the snow! Over 200 miles and a Mt. Pass. I don't go off road very much or tow.

This truck drives like a dream. It’s very comfortable for long trips. The locking trunk under the truck bed is so handy. No rain gets in there.

Loved my 2019 Ridge but my new Trailsport Ridge with the 9 speed tranny, improved electronics, skid plates and 1 inch lift does everything even better

Good: quick, easy to drive, functional, quiet enough, V6 sounds pretty good, shifts well, rear window, storage, lane keep assist, RT-AWD, system excellent, no regrets x 1 year Marginal: lights, gas mileage, DCC response Miss: parking sensors, rear USB

I have been a truck and Jeep person all my life. I have had several Rams and Jeeps. I still have a Jeep Wrangler but the Ram was getting a little difficult to get into at my age. So what to do? I settled on a 2025 Honda Ridgeline TrailSport that was recommended by my son, who has a 2004. I just love this truck as it is so easy to get into and drive. I am very happy with this purchase at Mills Honda in Baxter, MN.

The Black 2024 Honda Ridgeline was not painted correctly at the factory and now I have to have it repainted and loose value in the car twice over

If you’re not hauling a 10,000 trailer this is the truck to buy . Rides like a car , comfortable , lots of room , AWD standard , quick and averaging 22 in town and 29 highway.
