2025 Honda Pilot Consumer Reviews

Great SUV but!
The 2025 Honda Pilot Black Edition really caught my eye. I picked it up in Oct 24, and up until the first big rainstorm it was operating as expected. After the first rain test, I opened the driver's side door to find a puddle of water pooling in my floorboard. The dealership did their part and provided a loaner while they investigated the source of the water leak. The loaner provided was a 2025 Honda Pilot but more of a base model. I went to the store for groceries and when I opened the rear hatch, I observed water in the lower trunk space as well as signs of heavy leaking. My conclusion is that Honda is using a new company for its seals which are clearly failing to meet the Honda standard. I am concerned about my vehicle because even if seals are fixed, I am going to have to deal with the 2nd and 3rd order of effects from the initial issue.

Does not live up to the Honda name.
I've had the car for about a month and it's already been back to the dealer several times. Good: beautiful paint, rims and interior. Good fit and finish. Decent acceleration. Bad: numerous issues with the infotainment system. The system rarely connects with my phone wirelessly, forcing the use of a cable. Sometimes the ports won't charge the phone. The infotainment system "forgets" my phone, forcing me to re-pair. It also gives a blank screen at times. The backup camera also likes to stop working at times. The remote start has it's own personality and chooses when it wants to work. The fans for the ventilated seats are like the Kardashians: very loud but don't seem to do anything.

I want my 2022 Pilot Back
I traded my 2022 Pilot for a 2025 Pilot. I have drive it for about a month now. I dislike the white noise they installed and have been told it cannot be disconnected. For people like myself that have tinnitus, the white noise makes it sound really loud and is very uncomfortable, so not a pleasant drive. Also not a fan of the 10 speed shifting especially when starting from a stop. I liked the design of the 2022 Pilot, just my personal opinion. And the tire noise is louder. This is my 3rd Pilot and my 2022 was my favorite by far. The 2025 is my least favorite, hoping as I drive it more I will find more to like.

130 miles and it’s in the dealership with a loaner
I bought the 2025 Honda Pilot black edition after carefully shopping for a dependable 3rd row SUV because my 2022 Subaru Ascent is a Lemon. The Subaru had multiple major issues and repairs attempted before 23k miles. I was torn between the grand Highlander which was hard to find and the Pilot. I liked the look and options of the Pilot. I purchased the Pilot due to the availability. The first two weeks of ownership I barely drove it. I finally started to drive it to take the kids to school and 4 days in it illuminated multiple warning lights and shut off completely. The service lights were all related to malfunctions in the electric steering, lane control, cruise control, and collision braking. The radio display instructed to restart the vehicle and immediately take it to a dealer if the issues remain. We restarted the vehicle and the issues remained. We took it to the nearest dealer with 130 miles on the odometer and the next day I was told they think the battery failed so they replaced it. The fault was still present and they don’t know why but they are gonna order a main camera and try that. They have not offered us a rental car or loaner car and when I asked for one they said they can’t provide one. The dealership even suggested I pick up my broken unsafe stalling car and drive it to hike we wait for the part to arrive. Even with all the issues I had with my lemon law Subaru, at least I was provided a loaner car before the end of the day. I though by buying a Honda I was getting a dependable vehicle with “helpful Honda” service but I guess not.
We miss the quality of the older Hondas
We got our Pilot 5 months ago and have put 6,000 miles on it since then. We’ve already had repair done for a recall and we are now having trouble with the clock being off by several hours. Each time we do a manual reset it eventually loses several hours. We were told it’s a computer issue that they won’t have a fix for until August, which is still another 6 mths away. We’ve always owned Hondas for their quality, but we are starting to question this purchase.
Dont buy the 2025 Pilot Sports Modle
I purchased the 2025 Pilot sports model in July, a week later I have noticed water in the trunk I contacted the dealership Hendrick in Concord NC. and they took the car for two days and I was told its a factory seal and it was replaced, a week later same issue came back after a heavy rain. went back to dealership and they offer another Pilot same model. I had to pay more because accourding to them its concedered a use car even though I'm the customer and paid full price for a new car. few days later the same problem with water in the back trunk. Dont buy this modle.its a lemon. I contacted Honda corporation and I opened a case but I havent heard anything I tried to call twice and I was told someone will call me shortly and havent heard anything. really put a bad taste in my mouth. I'm sharing my story because I want to help correct this issue for the next customer, I want to be fair that the dealership of Honda of Concord have great staff and they are trying to assit. someone need to step up and resolve this issue because its nor fair to the loyal customers.
2025 Pilot Elite
Leased my 2025 Pilot Elite in June. I like everything about it but the transmission. It hesitates EVERY time you take off. It is scary. Sometime I'm afraid it is going to cut off. I've taken it in and was told there was nothing wrong. I've complained to North American Honda but have not heard back. I think about turning it back in almost every time I drive it. It's still not out of the question. It seems to be getting worse. I was told when I took it in the have it checked it would adjust with my driving style - HA HA HA.

We tested all the 3 row SUVs and choose the Pilot
Our results: We had a Kia. The engine failed. Kia replaced the engine under warranty but we had to wait months as there were 130 Kia's with blown engines head of us. No wireless Car play or Android Auto! No more Korean cars for us. Toyota Grand Highlander was the largest, had the best tech and is most reliable but with options was the most expensive with the least discounts. The suspension was too soft. Floating down the highway can make rear passengers car sick. They are also hard to find. Mazda CX-90 was the smallest but had the best performance and best fuel economy. It was also the the most luxurious of all the cars we looked at. We didn't like the joystick in the center console to manage settings. There were also a lot of serious complaints and a shortage of parts to fix them. The transmission shifted roughly from a start. The plug-in hybrid model is expensive and the one we test drove had some sort of issue and drove badly. We choose the Honda Pilot Touring. Its quiet, very comfortable and smooth and we like the removable middle seat in the second row. The display should be larger but its bigger than in the Mazda and easier to use. Not really an issue. There is loads of storage and it comes with a spare tire! The Apple Car play and Android Auto works every time and loads quickly. The steering is a little light and the car could use a little more power but its the only car in this class that is not turbo charged. There are also lots of Pilots still going strong with the same basic engine with over 200K miles. Using Costco we ended up getting the car for 4k under sticker making it the most affordable to actually purchase. We are averaging just over 20 MPG in mixed driving which is the biggest negative for this vehicle. I had a trailer hitch installed at U-Haul just carry our bikes for $310 and it took them 30 minutes to install it. The car has a relatively easy to reach plug to install trailer wiring should you wish to have that installed. My wife loves the car and we have had 0 issues so far.

2025 Pilot TrailSport Sonic Grey
It's probably the top SUV for a family of 4 having 2 growing teens. I drove Accord in the past, have been driving 2024 Ridgeline RTL and just bought the 2025 Pilot TrailSport. Comp to the truck, the SUV driving is noticeably softer but much more balanced and fine-tuned. The 10-gear auto is super smooth. Driving the SUV takes minimal effort - it drives like a sedan - 10/10 for Honda's engineers! The seats are super comfortable. My fav is the TrailSport Cam, which helps a lot when pulling in and out of our garage (24 feet width) with the truck already taken half the space. The main reasons we picked the TrailSport over the Touring are the TrailSport Cam and 2nd-row Captain seats, which allow our kids to hop to the 3rd row for naps during long road trips without stopping the vehicle. Avg fuel econ is the price you pay for the reliable Honda V6 and transmission. I am in TX and so below $2.5 per gallon reg gas - not really an issue. Fuel econ is an issue if you live in California or Atlanta.

Multiple lights sensor
I have a Honda Pilot touring 2025 it has 2,777 miles and its start shaking terrible and multiple sensor lights came up (low speed breaking, road departure mitigation, Collision Mitigation Braking system, Hill descendant control, Adaptive cruise Control, Electric Parking brake, parking brake not available, Trailer Stability Assist system problem,) After that the car stop and when I turn it on the motor start shaking and won't go on reverse or drive. After I called the dealer and they pick up they stated that it was the gas, I contact the gas station(I have the proof I place the correct gas) Shell in port St. Lucie Turnpike they also stated that their gas wasn't contaminated as per their report for that day and also, they have received no report for any other damage car on that day or subsequence days. They also ask me how many miles I drive after I place the gas it was 117 miles they also stated that if it was a gas problem it won't drive that far. I want to know if someone have had this issue because I already found a person with this issue, but they didn't write the last result mines I end up paying $935.00 for remove contaminated gas and clean the gas tank and they also replace another part. If someone has this issue, please let me know since I'm going to dispute this, I'm sure it wasn't the gas, and I shouldn't be paid for repair a brand-new car.
