Used 2014 Honda Pilot Consumer Reviews
Nice Ride
Great vehicle to own. This is replacing a older pilot that I have owned since 2008. Very, very dependable.

Good car overall
I owe this car for almost 5 years and I did not have a single mechanical issue or issue with peeling paint that other reviews mentioned. Overall the car is very comfortable to ride, the steering wheel is amazingly soft, space is unbelievable. The doors are just the right size to get on and off for adult and kids. The performance is great but I feel car jerking once in awhile switching gears. I love that the car is very wide. It was pretty much the only one vehicle we could fit two car sits with me sitting in the middle in one row with enough shoulder space. What I do not like is the top trim we got with navigation and entertainment system did not include keyless entry and keyless start. The sits are very poorly padded and insanely uncomfortable, both front and back sits are just awefull. The leather interior is not pretty as well as car paint is not sparkling but dull looking. I want also mention that Acura we previously owed had equally awefully uncomfortable sits. The navigation and control panel feel outdated and poorly designed. Also the shift gear handle is in front, right in the middle of everything and every time you try to reach something on the panel like AC or volume, it is on the way. The Mpg is not great. I use this car mostly to drive kids to school and activities and get between 15-17 mpg. I had to make adjustment to my driving habbits to get closer to 19 mpg. Rare highway drives bring 24 mpg the most. I was not sure about entertainment system but it turned out just great. So many speakers provide amazing sound for my CDs, radio reception is good. I even got xm radio to enjoy amazing sound this car provide. Overall we paid 40k for the top trim and I think that is a decent car for the price paid.

Sales Rep car
Transmission seems weak, shifts goofy. Wandered around when new, Honda said the ball joints needed to seat. Blows around in the wind. Like the rear camera. Front seats are small. MPG is okay. Never over 24. Seats stained from spilled water?

MAN! I wanted to love this...
As an owner of a 2005 Honda Pilot EX, and itching to get a new ride, I test drove the 2014 Honda Pilot EX-L while I was getting a new catalytic converter at the dealership. The exterior was beautiful (I'm a fan of the "squarer" bodies and think the new ones blend in with everyone else's vehicle), and the interior was "standard" Honda (definitely not as appealing as a Highlander, but I'm not picky). Everything was great, until I pulled onto the highway... OMG, can I just tell you that my 2005 Pilot has MUCH MORE pick up than the 2014! I have a heavy foot, and when I merge I want to get to the speed limit as soon as possible...well, not with this one. You gotta be kidding me! The salesman said it has something to do with ECON but honestly, its an SUV - I don't care about gas mileage (I know... I should...) Plus there is no way to "save on gas" with the way I drive. What a disappointment!
