Another Great Honda!

This is our 4th Honda and it was an easy choice to make. Very happy with how quiet the ride is and how comfortable the seating is. We love the style of body design. It was the reason that got us in to take a test drive. Very impressed with the way the Pilot handles road. We travel a bit with our 2 dogs and find the back (with 3rd row down)to have plenty of room for them.

We checked out both the Highlander and the Pilot as replacements for our aged Tahoe. For the money we felt that the Pilot was far more spacious & practical in its interior arrangement. Now, after several months, we have not had any problems with it. Its power is impressive and the 4WD has proven capable too. Even the kids like it.

Just took delivery on a 2010 Pilot. I came close to the Acadia which I liked a lot and was turning in a GMC Yukon. I liked the quality of the Pilot better than the Acadia and it was priced lower. I also had reservations about buying a car from a company in bankruptcy. I was amazed to find the interior actually had MORE usable space than my 2006 Yukon. The leather seats are very comfortable and the build quality appears to be up to Honda's reputation. My only issues are the vehicle pulled to the right. I brought it to the dealer to adjust the frontend. I am concerned to hear others have reported the same problem. There is also more road noise when compared to my Yukon.

Got a new Pilot for my wife to replace her 02 VW Passat. We needed the room for a 9-mo and 7-yr old. Only had it for a few days. We did just return from a beach trip (5hr one way). It did really well. The RES is great - 7 yr old loves the wireless headphones. Plenty of room - much more than in my 07 Explorer. The NAV is nice - lots of buttons and options - just not enough time yet to figure out all the voice commands. The bluetooth link is nice - Linked my blackberry and her i-phone in minutes - also easy to import the phonebooks. The USB connections is really nice too - can control ipod from steering wheel. Did add running boards and cross bars. Hitch is great - used a hitch hauler on trip.

This is our first Honda, and so far, it has been a great vehicle for our family of 4. Gas mileage averages 19-20mpg. I immediately liked the exterior boxy styling and more rugged appearance than the old Pilots. Drives well and feels very solid on the road. The only issue we've had is the slope of the rear cargo area when the 3rd row seats are folded down. Some things roll out easily due to the slanted surface. The optional cargo net became a necessity after a gallon of milk rolled out and crashed onto the driveway.

Should learn from CRV

2010 Honda Pilot EX 4dr SUV (3.5L 6cyl 5A)

I purchase the EX because I don't like the leather in the EX-L trim. It is a big disappointment that the Pilot EX doesn't come with a moon roof like the CRV EX does. Pilot is much bigger than the CRV, yet its features doesn't match up the CRV. The style is fine to me, although I do wish its front nose a little bit lower, so it won't look so boxy, and it may help the fuel economy too. The acceleration and the fuel mileage when starting is terrible. The car is just unnecessarily too heavy and the 250 horse power is a shame for Honda, considering a much smaller ACCORD, or Pilot's other rivals such as Highlander. You can feel the road when driving. However, it is smooth and pleasant.

Experienced SUV owners: Pilot,Sequoia, Land Cruiser, Xterra, Outback, Forester, Suburban, Explorer, Commander. We 'thoroughly' examined (down to where the jack is stored and the type of spare tire)and road tested the Pilot(on a variety of surfaces and at various speeds). We like its Jeepesque squared off look. Excellent seats. Driving position very good on long trips. Nice layout of controls. Great storage. Excellent center console design and shifter location. Good mileage in aggressive driving: 18+ combined city, country and mountain roads not worrying about keeping the ECO light on. Quiet. Very stable and neutral driving dynamics for an SUV. Tracks well on the highway.

The Pilot doesn't disappoint. We test drove the Veracruz and Traverse and found the Pilot the best of everything for the money. We don't agree with Edmunds assessment. The options and luxury for the price is not comparable with the Chevy and the Hyandai. We've already taken a road trip with three kids and two grandparents and the Pilot performed better than we could have hoped. The ride is great and it handles very well.

We purchased our 2010 Pilot about a month ago. While many of the professional reviews of the vehicle lambaste the styling, we think this is one of its stronger points. We did not want a crossover that looks like a minivan. We think the Pilot blends SUV styling with crossover practicality. We decided to select the Pilot over the Highlander because of the additional interior space. So far the Pilot has exceeded our expectations. It is great for two young kids, easy to load up, and tons of storage space. Gas mileage is ok, but for a larger vehicle it is as expected.

The car is perfect. Just that I have a problem with the back seat. The leather popping out for both back seats. This also happened to my friend, who bought an EX. Is there a problem with HONDA? The leather seat from the second row popping out. HIGHLY recommended who own a PILOT with leather seat, should check the second row.

Took a 600 mile road trip over Christmas. The pilot did great, we have one 15 month old and another on the way. The vehicle is roomy and very comfortable to drive. Love all the cubbies to store stuff in. The suspension is amazing and the highway ride is great as well. I did not notice any lack of power and got 21mpg as it is not broken in yet. Go drive one for yourself, I drove a lot of vehicles but none of them stacked up safety and feature wise to the Pilot.

We're new to Honda; wanting one due to having a dealer close by. Motor Week said it was the best SUV for the year. Averaging about 17 mpg mixed driving. Have got up to 25 mpg at times on expressway. On recent trip Mrs and I agreed we had less travel fatigue. I like the size while having a lower profile with a wide track. I have some tiny remorse about not considering (test-driving) the Touring model.

I did research several vehicles for the past 6 months. The main selling points for me over my runners up (CX9, XC90) were Spaciousness, well designed storage, resale value, reliability ratings. I have a Camry and a Golf, so I know sporty (noisy) and whisper quiet.. The Pilot is not as quiet as the Camry, but I didn't feel the bumps as much in the Pilot either. So it is a wash.. Very well thought design. Drives solid.. no pulling to the right like people here complain.. I'm very happy with my purchase and hope to drive this one for several years..

The interior is excellent. Vents for even the 3rd row passengers, 3 climate zones (driver, passenger, rear), plenty of cup holders, 3 power outlets, and lots of nooks to hide stuff. The benches are very short though! Not a lot of thigh support. You sit down and almost feel like your legs are dangling. Road noise is a problem also, even though I bought the EX-L which supposedly has thicker glass to cut down on this. Haven't noticed the same pulling to the right that others have (1500 miles driven), and the mileage I get is no where near advertised. I avg. 19 hwy, 16 city. The Pilot is very wimpy on trails, and I have yet to take it out on the sand (I'm a little scared to do so).

I just traded my 2009 highlander to a 2010 pilot EXL. The Highlander has better exterior and softer ride but overall I like the pilot better. It has bigger and better interior. It is fun to drive and better handling. It has enough power and fuel economy is not that bad. I get the same fuel economy with my 4 cylinder Highlander. I have test driven BMW x3, MB glk350, and Nissan Armada. I finally chose the pilot for overall performance

Just bought my first Honda, the Pilot is surprisingly larger inside then it appears from the outside. Almost bought GMC Acadia preferred outside looks more on Acadia but was concerned about resale value. Very impressed with design of interior. Blue accent light, lights up front at night. The rear DVD and heating/cooling controls from both dashboard and rear controls. DVD also has a detachable remote.

We purchased the Honda after careful consideration of similar vehicles. Construction and fit/finish is excellent, we couldn’t find defects. The handling and ride are good, but speed bumps are a different thing. If you take one above 5-10mph the passengers get a pretty rough jolt, where as my Nissan frontier can take speed bump at 25mph with little effect. The ride of the Pilot is between car like and the truck like ride of the other SUVs.

This is probably the best appliance you can buy for your family that doesn't guzzle gas. Quality is great, mileage is excellent. 20mpg is nice for such a large truck, but we've always had hi-po cars in the garage (V10 M5, M3, S2000, Cayman S) so mileage isn't a deal breaker for us. Quality/design of interior is on par with the best from Germany, too bad the outside is vanilla. I prefer the looks of the Traverse & CX-9 to the Pilot. 1 major flaw; three weeks in and we've got a huge windshield crack! I haven't even made a payment yet... Overall great car, but I'd prefer a wagon to ANY SUV. We really do not need the 3rd row seats.

The interior wood trim accessory on the 2010 Pilot- 'opulent upgrade to complete the look' is nothing more than a sticker ($393 + install= rip off)placed on a portion of the exsisting panel(s). The quailty and appearance of this upgrade looks very cheap. Advertised as "wood" by Honda has a matte finish, very misleading and a waste of money.

Having owned a 2004 Honda that was a fantastic SUV with 90,000 Miles and paid for, I opted to trade in my 1995 Ford Exp(cash for clunkers) for a 2010 Pilot ex-l. My wife now drives the 2004 and really loves it. I prefer the 2010 due to added size, electronics, meters with MPG, tire pressure mothree tripnitors, sun roof, storage, back up camera etc. I still love the 2004 and enjoy driving it. I could get up to 25 MPG on the 2004 and even though not yet broken in I have gotten up to 22 MPG on the 2010. The 18 to 20 MPG for combined driving is accurate. I never had an issue with the 2004, 85K miles on OE tires, 90K on brakes, OE battery still operational. Hope the 2010 does as well.

So far the Pilot has been exactly as advertised. My driving is 90% highway where the Pilot gets 20 mpg as stickered. Some reviewers said their Pilot pulled to the right, but I've seen no pulling at all. Suspension is good and the ride is comfortable, as are the plush seats. The third-row seats easily fold down to provide additional cargo room. The Pilot also contains an unusual feature where the second-row seats can be moved forward or backward for additional leg room. Second-row climate controls are conveniently located with digital readout. Navigation system is easy to use; the same display doubles as stereo command center. Voice commands work well. Storage nooks are numerous.

Great driving vehicle, good 4WD performance, and great features. Seating very good, massive car audio(so many features), and good MPG for a 4WD suv are among some of the top features. Engine performance is good - I'm willing to take the hit on performance for MPG (especially today with $$ for fuel). Would recommend a Pilot and/or purchase another if I need to buy another vehicle. Purchased 2010 4WD EX-L w/RES in late May 2010 for $31,600 plus TTL (new 2011 pilot models were available, no diff in 2010 vs. 2011, that I found).

Previous to this I had a 2000 Honda Accord, after two kids we needed more space. This Pilot definitely has more space and can comfortably fit three across (with a car seat in the middle). It has a smooth drive and the gas mileage is as advertised, though I do not have a lead foot and drive conservatively. The interior is very roomy, I was surprised it was so big. The leather does seem a bit cheap since it seems like it discolors easily and attracts the blue color off of jeans, I have the light grey leather. Overall I am very pleased with my new Pilot. It gets great mileage, has lots of room, is very safe and easy to drive and maneuver and I enjoy it immensely!

Great SUV for Highway driving. We consistently get 22 MPG (wish it were better, but not bad for this size car). Great Nav system (negative is you have to pay for version upgrades). Good size interior to hall stuff, a MUST is the back area plastic cover. For me I got the full area cover (pricey at $300 - but worth it). Great hide away storage in the back - good for jumper cables, tools, trailer hitch, and other stuff. Rides great on the road and in town. Sound system could be better for this price - but lots of electronic toys to play with - a plus for me 110 volt outlet and Ipod connection that is integrated. I would recommend this car to anyone and would purchase it again.

New Pilot feels much larger than the previous model. The windshield is narrower and the hood sits much higher. The truck feels very solid and rides more quietly than our 2004 did. The center console can be a little confusing to operate until you have studied it a little while. The voice operation of items takes a little practice, but is great to use.

I am pleasantly surprised with the pilot. It is extremely comfortable and fun to drive but my only complaint is the fuel economy. Once you come to terms that the size, comfort do not come free then you can justify paying for the extra mileage. If you ask me if I would buy a pilot after knowing what I know now my answer will be yes. I will buy another one.

I never thought of purchasing an SUV, I was looking at sedans last year but then I never have enough room when I drive home for vacations. I looked at the pathfinder, highlander, 4runner and the aspen. Then while driving home I was passed by a fast moving pilot, I went for a test drive on all SUV's mentioned above but the pilot was the cream of the crop. It had everything I wanted and more for the price; the room and comfort sold me. I wish the gas mileage was better since it has a engine management system but I already knew what I was getting into since it is an SUV.

I upgraded from a '06 Jeep Grand Cherokee with too many problems to list, so I gave it back. The '10 Pilot is excellent. What can't you do with it? I have not seen any pulling problems. All of the extras on the vehicle are wonderful. Get the DVD system if you have children, also gives you a better speaker system, which Honda is known not to have.

Bought this car for the spaciousness and 3rd row. I never owned a Honda and heard about Honda's reliability and quality. Since I bought this, I had 2 issues. First is the moonroof will not close. It goes back halfway and kicks back. Sent to dealer twice and they reprogram the system. Still the same issue. A week ago, I received a recall letter asking me to bring back my Pilot for a moonroof software update. Second issue is the car keeps pulling to the right. I have seen some reviews about this. Brought it to the dealer twice and they said nothing wrong. Obviously this is not the first car I have driven and I know when a car is pulling to its right. I am hoping for another recall...

This is my second review. I have this pilot for 5months now. It is fun to drive and performs well except of the following. 1. Moonroof occasionally has problems. i already received letter from Honda that they will update it. 2. Paint on the bumper starts to peel. I was disappointed because i am not expecting that i will have paint problems in just 5 months. dealer said that they will fix it. 3. Seat belt at the 2nd or 3rd row rattles. this is somewhat annoying. I suggest that if you want to buy a pilot check the paint quality on the bumper and door edges of the vehicle.

I thought I was buying one of Honda's best, but found some issues afterward. The pull to the right should be addressed. This will eventually wear out your tires. Honda should fix this. Also, gas mileage is not what it's advertised to be. Its a guzzler. Overall, I should have kept shopping. We'll see. Some plastic pieces are already coming off in the door area on both sides. Vehicle only has 2100 miles on it. Trunk space is a problem with all seats up. Oh well...

This is our Second Pilot, we traded in our 2006 EX- L. When we test drove the 2010, we were sold. We opted for the full featured Touring model, and have been pleasantly surprised with all of the features. For the price we paid (Just over $38,000) there is no way you could buy a comparable SUV in any other brand. The added benefit is, it is a Honda, which once you've owned one, sells itself. We have a large family, Three Kids, and this car does great on road trips. If you are on the fence on what model to buy, get the touring. For what you get, it is well worth it!

Overall very happy. Loved my '97 4 Runner but this car has much more interior space, better advertised mileage than the '10 4Runner. Quiet, handles very well and luxurious on the inside although some of the trim seems a little cheap. No real complaints. Handled great in our last snow storm. Overall mileage so far according to trip meter 18.1 over 950 miles. Haven't been on the highway for any extended period yet. Would expect improvement when broken in and switched to synthetic oil. Great sound and Nav system. Love bluetooth and iPod interactivity-never need to take your hands off wheel. Boxy exterior but you know that going in. No pulling or mechanical issues so far.

This is my second Pilot, my first being an '05 model, which I liked quite a bit. The 2nd generation addresses a lot of the faults of the first generation, most notably the design of the third row is much improved and the pop up rear glass. Although these improvements are most welcome, there are still a few issues. Honda needs to go back to the drawing board on the engine in this vehicle, and improve low-end torque. That is the reason the fuel economy is poor - mostly because you have to give it lots of gas to keep up with traffic. Sure, it's heavy and big, but I'm convinced it would do much better with tuning. The only other issue is the tacky interior plastics, which are GM-like.

I finally traded in my Van for this SUV. So far, I like it better then my Van. one problem I noticed, it seems to pull to the right. Looks like others are having this same problem. I brought it to dealer, they said, they are not seeing the problem. They said it is normal that it pulls if I accelerate. I think that is junk! My brother CRV is not doing that. For that reason, I lower its quality to 7.

Fuel mileage overrated

I have only driven 4000KMs; like the handling and power of this vehicle but am terribly disappointed with gas mileage. If I had known it was this bad I would not have bought this vehicle. My 8 cylinder pickup was better when towing. It's not bad when driven a long distance on the highway when not towing. Honda has severely overrated the mileage of this vehicle. It is not even close to the numbers they suggest. Towing mileage is brutal, 20.1 lts/hundred over 300kms. They should have installed a bigger tank because you are constantly stopping for fuel. I find this vehicle has a lot of road noise compared to my last vehicle. It's possible it's the type of tires but it should be better.

Purchased on Dec 31 to take advantage of the 6000 pound GVWR for tax purposes. I traded my 2007 Acura MDX, which was a great vehicle itself . The Pilot rides smoother than the Acura and has significantly more room. The Navigation systems in Honda/Acura products can't be beat, unlike other makes, they do not restrict use while in motion. Acceleration is good and storage space, cup holders etc is excellent!. The fuel economy is below average for a V6 engine, I am getting around 14 mpg in city driving

Great SUV, mpg not even close

We traded in our Chevy Trailblazer EXT hoping to get an SUV with better gas mileage. We have put on aprox. 1000 miles and only have been getting 11 mpg city and 14-15 mpg highway (on a trip to the coast). We drive with the ECO light on and don't heavy foot it. The dealership service guys have told us to "hang in there" and wait for the motor to "break in". I am very discouraged with the mpg. Otherwise, it is a very nice vehicle, nice ride, nice handling, low road noise, and very comfortable. The bigger test will be this spring as I tow our 3,600 pound boat. I am hoping it will do ok going over the passes to Central Oregon and the Oregon Coast. Overall, I am pleased with the SUV.

Car comes with a donut tire, disappointed not told about it by sales people. I had to put a full size tire and it was difficult to find a rim that fits the wire that holds. For the price it should some with a full size tire. Quality of Goodyear tire on my vehicle is very poor. Fuel efficiency is not great. Ride is not smooth.

The 2010 Pilot is a blast to drive. It feels as solid as a tank, but lots of creature comforts and tremendous interior cabin room for a family of 4 + a large dog....

We have a 15 year old and needed the extra space. Rides a little like a truck but is very smooth and handles very well. Love the iPod connection and surround sound. Mileage could be a little better but only filled up once so far. Great riding SUV with great styling.

We trade in an 05 Odyssey for the Pilot, for better snow capabilities. I know a Pilot isn't a minivan, but only having two cup holders up front is disappointing. When we buy food for the family (small kids) we miss those extra cup holders in the Ody. The running boards we added are a necessity. Kids and small adults couldn't get in easily without them. The one thing that irks us is that the third row does NOT fold flat. Some people say it does, but it is inclined. We knew that before we bought it, but it still was a negative. Stuff can slide and our big dog has a tough time with the angle. Mileage has only been about 15 mpg but we drive almost all short trips (3-5 miles.

I like the vehicle's features and looks. The only thing I have a problem with is the gas mileage. I traded in a Ford Excursion with a diesel engine and am getting close to the same miles per gallon in city(14) and highway(20)driving.

My pilot just got broken into and my gps was stolen. The thief break the passenger window and unlock the door and then came to the driver side door and open to get the GPS, the alarm dose not trigger. All my other car trigger when arm if any door is being open from the inside. So I thing that Honda owner should be aware of this problems and take it to the dealer ASAP.

Wife & I just got the 2010 pilot and we are very happy, it's very roomy, smooth, and good performance. If it is as reliable as other hondas, we will be good to go for long time. Great hauler for a family of 6. Interoir is well made and well thought out. Have owned many suvs but this one just feels right.
