"Automatic idle stop" not a fan
Great car. Very sound. Quietest honda we have owned, we've had 5. Smooth responsive engine/ transmission. Would have knocked off a star for having the motor shut off at every stop. But since you can over ride that function by pressing a button, although you have to do that every time you start the motor we let it slide.
Multiple service visits within first year: Caution
UPDATE 2: Dropped from 3-stars to 1-star at around 12k miles. UPDATE 1: Dropped from 4-stars to 3-stars to 1-star now (8k miles). Summary: I didn't know Honda could have so many problems. Will not buy another Honda Minivan. What is the point of the Elite trim? I've been to the shop too many times for this 2020 Honda Odyssey Elite and am getting more uncomfortable with each visit. My primary two concerns: 1) Electronics 2) Transmission **Electronics** I've had to bring the vehicle in TWICE already to fix the static pop issues in less than a year. The static pops can get loud enough to make me want to open the window. This is reported as a known issue. Parking Sensors: The parking sensors just started screwing up around 12,000 miles. While driving it just starts beeping madly as if something is right in front of the sensor. I went outside to inspect and there is nothing there. I use the parking sensors to fit into my garage and navigate tight drive-thru lanes, so disappointing that these are already not working right. I still need to take to shop for this. CabinWatch Camera: The interior cabin camera seems to always freeze up. They just fixed it due to a recall, so I'll monitor. *UPDATE* this has been working better lately. Auto-high beams don't seem to work. They worked perfect on my prior Honda CRV. I manually operate my high-beams. While a minor issue, what is the point of the feature? Wireless charger: the phone has to be just right. Makes it a pain as opposed to something I could just set down and forget. I just plug my phone in now instead of using wireless charging. Major recall with power/fire risk issue, was fixed but concerning. Other electronics recalls have occurred. A total of 5 related recall/issues surrounding electronics so far. **Transmission** Transmission recently started jerky/stutter in downshift between 30-40mph. When brought to service center, was noted that "commonly reported by customers" but is "typical of the vehicle" - this was not present when I first purchased the vehicle and it sounds like the transmission problems from the 2014-2015 series Honda Odyssey. This really makes the driving experience unpleasant as I am often in that speed range in the city. UPDATE: This seems to be slowly getting worse. I just hit 12k miles at my 1st year of ownership. UPDATE: For the recall fixes round 2, I had to wait a few weeks for some parts to come in.

Computer issues 30 DAYS after purchase!
As a long time Honda owner I am EXTREMELY infuriated with the fact that I am already having an issue with a brand new vehicle. Purchased a 2020 Odyssey on May 26, 2020 and on June 25, 2020 the audio just stopped working mid drive. I get home, turn the car completely off and the display would not turn off. After troubleshooting over the phone to no avail we have had to physically taken it in. Mind you, there is a fuse you can disconnect or you can disconnect the battery in order to potentially force a reboot but the real question is WHY DO I HAVE TO DEAL WITH THIS IN THE FIRST PLACE WITH A BRAND NEW VEHICLE? After a quick google search it appears that Honda KNOWS about this issue with the 2018 and 2019 odyssey which further indicates they have done NOTHING to fix the actual problem and continue to knowingly sell DEFECTED CARS. Shame on you Honda! If you are considering purchasing a new Honda Odyssey, I strongly urge you to reconsider. We replaced our 2014 Honda Odyssey with this and completely regret doing so.

Electrical System ruin this car
I have had so many issues as do many others with the infotainment center.m and other electrical issues. My car will unlock on its own, dashboard will go black. It’s horrible. Has been to the show numerous times ( like so many others) and Honda still can’t figure it out. So we buy a brand new car for it to me more of a nuisance. Since this car is all electrical, even the gear shift is a push button , it makes the driving experience more of a headache.

Ody Love!
Like many others, my wife didn’t want to take the dive into being a minivan mom, but the Odyssey legit makes life easier and better. There are so many things to love about this van from the magic sliding 2nd row, to the hideaway 3rd row (great for Costco runs), Apple CarPlay, all the safety features, and 280hp engine. The 10 speed tranny is very smooth and crisp. We opted for the EXL w NAV/RES and its great for road trips and keeps the kids entertained, and you can still listen to music/podcast up front while they enjoy a movie in the back. With the RES package, you also get a handy 110v plug and HDMI port so we have hooked up our Super Nintendo Classic. At the end of the day, these 3 row SUVs, and their unusable 3rd row, aren’t any cooler than an Ody, so just make the plunge, you won’t regret it! You will love it as much as we do.

Nothing but Trouble
I bought my Odyssey Elite in 7/2020. I currently have 12,120 miles on it and it has been to the shop 5 times in those 6 months. I have been waiting for a week for an answer from Honda on a repair they are unsure they will fix, on a bumper to bumper warranty. This is the last Honda I will buy. Will be trading it in in the coming weeks for something different. I have had my fill of this $50,000 POS.SAVE YOURSELF AND STAY AWAY FROM HONDA. They are not what they used to be. Not very good
I am leasing a 2020 EX odyssey. I want to inform patintial buyers. Review at 1,000 miles. The good- Highway driving. Transmission shifts and programing. Steering. Suspension. Looks. Seats. The bad- Infotainment is annoying. Auto idle stop is annoying. Rearview camera resolution looks terrible (almost unusable). Storage with seats down is frustrating, slopped floor and large chunks of plastic in the floor. Rear cargo with seats up is slopped (not flat). The van has a popping noise in the steering at parking lot speeds. The brakes have squeeked from day one. The van has a rough idle in drive while at stop lights (like its going to stall). Roof rack is an option, not standard. Push button gears and parking brake is not for me. I feel this van will have long term issues, it is way to reliant on electronics, seems buggy already.

2020 Odyssey touring
This is our 5 Odyssey touring. We bought it in June 2020. We did not drive it much as we had a pilot saving the Odyssey for long road trips. We took it on a road trip in August and notice the xm radio was not functioning properly. We did not think much of it. Parked it for a month. We received call from the dealership that there are 4 recalls on it. On my way to the dealership the navigation screen went blank and display a message saying network Connectivity error. It has been at the dealership since then more than 3 weeks now. The say they have to order a new audio component. I am not planning on taking back this van without warrantee coverage for the time I own it. This reminds me of the 2004 Odyssey we owned. 2 weeks after receiving the vehicle we received a recall notice for the transmission. We should have asked for a new transmission, but trusted Honda. Guess what happened immediately after the warranty runs out for the transmission? You guessed it. The transmission failed in the same 2nd gear. We had to spend 4,000 replacing the transmission. So we are not happy with the 2020. It looks like a lot of disaster waiting to drain our pockets.

Transmission issue with 584 miles
Little over a tank of gas and my garage floor was covered in transmission fluid. They said it was the seal to the axel to transmission. Only if I heard the voicemail correctly 😏
Creaking Van
2020 vans creak (sound kinda like an old pirate ship) turning at slow speeds. We purchased a 2020 Honda Odyssey EX (in green). After about 1,000 miles, the van creaked when turning at slow speeds. The dealership, after trying to fix it, replaced the van with another, brand new 2020 Honda Odyssey EX (in green). After about 700 miles, this van creaked similarly (turning at slow speeds). We were given a loaner vehicle when the dealership tried to determine what caused the creak on the second van. This was a 2020 odyssey as well (an EX-L trim level) and it creaked also. It would appear Honda has a problem with their 2020 vans that some, many, or perhaps all creak while turning at slow speeds.
Take it back!
It's been 3 weeks since we got our Ody back, and a month since my 'Take it Back' review, so far all is well, fingers crossed. The dealership has bent over backwards to resolve the issues with this car, mainly the infotainment system, it took 3 weeks to get it right, hopefully this problem is history. All other aspects of this 2020 Odyssey Touring are excellent.

Functional for families but reliability issues
Bought a 2020 with DVD in August 2020. It's a great family car and we love it for the few road trips we've taken. Unfortunately, by October 2020 the static popping sound started, and the DVD player stopped working, and one of the molding liners on the roof edge were coming out. By November 2020 the rear passenger window stopped working. We traded a 2016 Pilot for the Odyssey because of reliability issues also thinking it was a fluke, and we just got a bad year of the Pilot. I'm thinking Honda quality has gone down and is not the same that I grew up with. I guess it's time to switch over to Toyota for the next vehicle.

Awful experience with new 2020 Honda Odyssey
I purchased this van brand new in March 2020. I noticed a misfire about a month after of having the vehicle. I have brought the van in for service seven times regarding this issue. So far they replaced the battery, changed the injectors, and replaced both sides of the head of the engine and not only do I have the misfire issue still, but the start stop is not working properly anymore. Just get a Toyota sienna instead! My 2013 sienna had 250,000 miles and never had any engine work done to it. I used to be a fan of Honda but not so much anymore!

Even the kids just want to hang out in it
I didn’t want a minivan, but it was the most practical choice. Now, I LOVE this thing. My young kids can get in and out on their own and even help move the seats down in the back row. This was a huge step up from my old car as far as technology, but now I learned how to use the flexible cruise control, Apple Play, etc. I can’t wait for an excuse to drive it.

2020 Odyssey Elite amenities poorly developed
The 2020 Honda Odyssey elite has given nothing but problems from the purchase. We are have problems with the cabin watch freezing, relays keep emitting sharp noises while driving, gps keeps freezing, DVD player keeps freezing, communications errors and something is rattling in the drivers side door panel. Honda has replaced the odometer and amplifier so far and we’re planning on replacing the tuner. The car has spent months at a dealership for troubleshooting and parts repair. Honda has not responded to my numerous attempts to contact them. They keep telling me a female manager and supervisor will call me but I never receive a call so I keep calling and leaving messages with the representative that picks up. I know they are avoiding me because they have no fix for the vehicle so in the meantime I have to keep driving the van with all these unacceptable problems. Do not purchase anything Honda due to poor customer service.

Honda loyal
It has a 10 speed auto transmission that I expect to be very durable, after reading tech reports on it. The 3.5 engine is bullet proof, I had no problems with it on my prior Honda and it had 237000 miles on it and still ran great. I would have kept it to 300,000 miles but a 93 year old man that shouldn’t have been driving hit me and totaled my vehicle. (Shame on the Sectary of State for continuing to provide this man a license). I digress, the Honda never had any problems during all of these miles except for routine maintenance that I was very discipline about.
New family Minivan for the next 7 years?
We had driven two Toyota Sienna and and two Kia Sedona minivans in the last 12 years. We were considered all of the brands again when we decided to go back to a minivan for our family. We rented the new Chrysler Pacifica to judge for ourselves. For all of our needs and requirements with elderly family members involved, we opted for the new Honda Odyssey. The family is extremely happy with the new Odyssey. It is quiet, smooth, and very functional with several new features. My favorite is the new brake hold feature. I consider the Honda Odyssey the top of the minivan class. We have purchased the extended warranty and will be driving this minivan at least until the warranty runs out.

More than just a car. A work of art
My 2014 never had a problem. The scarlet red 2020 is a work of art. Always discovering new awesome features. The smart phone charging pad is wondrous. Turn the engine off and the electronic push button gear shifting automatically shifts into park. Open the door and your seat moves back to give you more room to get out. Turn engine on and seat moves back into your preferred position. The sparkly scarlet pearl is an eye catcher. Much stronger than the 2014. Third row is easy to set up and move flat for full cargo space. Features I wish it continued from the 2014: blind side camera and the cooler box. Electronic push button gear shift eliminates intrusive gear shift lever and is easy to use. Over all the best car imaginable. Purchased the 2014 because it was the best of only two new vehicles with sufficient head room to allow tall driver to sit up straight, see clearly out the windshield and not hit head on roof. Tried them all, cars, trucks, SUVs. 2020 carries that forward. Seats 8 adults comfortably. Wish someone would bring back bench seats. Car handled well on a recent short freeway trip. After my experience with the 2014, the 2020 was a no-brainer. Never had a problem with the 2014; still in the extended family.

Exactly what we were looking for.
Make sure the radio and electrical system works properly.
The best family car!
UPDATE: It has been 1+ year since getting the car and we still like it a lot. Some things we have noticed. #1 The apple play feature where you connect your iphone to the car to view maps etc doesn't work so well. We think is cable connection what is somewhat deffective. You would expect better is this day technology they would make that right but that's not the case. The #2 issue we have encountered is with the windows. We had a window that stopped working on our previous minivan but we just thought it was a random thing that happened. We are now having the same issue with a window in the new model where it doesn't close all the way up or go all the way down. So that might be another defect with this type of car. Ive also have had a couple of times where the car has almost stopped on me or some security notifications where there hasn't been any type of danger. Overall we still love the car, so much space. We feel very secured and the car drives really well. Haven't had any mechanical issues whatsoever which tells you how good and reliable this car is. I took a star off for the reasons above but would still recommend very much. 4 stars! Love, love the Honda minivan! The new features added to the new model are incredible, even with the basic models I feel like I'm driving a high end vehicle. It's super smooth and light, so much you forget you're driving a minivan. We previously leased the same type and model but from 2016. Even though we were very happy with the previous one, the improvement on the 2020 are just amazing. The new big screen is awesome. Haven't learned all about it but so far feels so much easier to navigate through the apps. Also the safety features make me feel so much safer. It has lane assist, cruise control and speed control that can be activated when driving 45 miles and above. Another improvement from the 2016 was the trunk. The weight of the door is now way lighter than it was before. And of course let's not forget about the automatic sliding doors that are everything when you have kids, and it makes life so much easier. The only thing I noticed didn't get much improvements was the AC, which still takes too long to cool down, specially in the Florida heat. Overall we're so happy with our car! And we'll be definitely considering a Honda minivan as our family car in the future.

Electrical Issues like Many others
Few weeks later, I tried using RES and its not working, took it in couple times but local technicians have to do a call with honda technicians and didnt go anywhere, I have been living with this problem for over an year now. These electrical issues are only piling up by the day, if its not for the chip shortage and dearth of deals, would have gotten rid off this car by now. Drive OK

Wasted money
Bought this car hoping it would be the last one I'll ever need. Got that wrong. At 1700 miles all the dummy lights went on when passing on the highway - dealership replace cam sensor 2400 miles same thing - dealership replace crank sensor 9800 miles same thing - dealership refused to look at car since a non-EOM windshield had been install, that was my issue 10k issue remains - different dealership - added oil stating that is the cause of the failure Still dont have safety features due to the 'windshield'. Never buy another Honda and will inform everyone I know of my ongoing experiences to stear them away.

Great vehicle so far
We have a 2020 Odyssey Elite 25th anniversary since Dec 2019 and really like it. We did have a 2006 Odyssey touring which was essentially problem free up to trade in for the 2020. This 2020 has had some issues (mostly recalls) that were resolved by dealer. Latest was warning indicators coming on for no reason. Dealer replaced computer beside transmission to solve. Great driving vehicle, quiet and fuel efficient especially for its size. Mileage on highway at steady 75-80 mph was just under 30 MPG...loved it. Middle seats are slightly disappointing since they do not fold flat like our 2006. We used to be able to stack those seats once removed or put things on top of them when in the van but can't with new van. Have extended warranty just in case but hope we don't need it. Update: Gas mileage on highway is over 30 mph at 75 mph. Van has been trouble free after initial recall and corrections we made. We would buy this van again!

No title
Love Honda Odysseys. The 2020 I have now does not have the same width or length space inside as my 2010. I drove my 2010 to 225,000 miles and expect I will do the same or more with this one.
Excellent review and assessment price.
The Honda Elite 2020 (25th Edition) is great for a family of eight, plus space for two or three large suitcases. Mileage per gallon is decent at 18/22. The tank is a couple gallons smaller than previous years , so the range is around 350 miles. Have a decent technology to help human performance for long trips.

Glitchy
The Infotainment system makes this van unusable. It has lived at the dealer and can not be fixed. Read about the most bus network before you buy. When it sounds like rock are hitting the vehicle played through 9 speaker it really sucks. Some times it will not even turn off the radio with it shut off, some times the radio says tuner unavailable. What out this problem runs form 2018-2023. Van runs and drives great no other complaints.

Love this thing, minor changes needed
I really love this car. Mid row allows multiple configurations is really nice. Smooth, quiet comfortable drive. Couple of things that’d help for future: - there is no individual closure of dash vents. Need way to close each separately. - the blund spot minitor is on the inside of the car. Better suited on mirrors. Even though it is easily seen when vehicle approaches, when there is no vehicle I always move my eyes from mirror to monitor. Fraction of second but recognizable. But still refer this over other 7-8 seaters.

Poor quality
Bought the car new. Then had issues almost immediately. Trunk seal was bad which caused the trunk and everything in it to get soaked when it rained. In 18 months of ownership the car has seen 4-5 recalls. Then there is the speaker and infotainment issue which Honda has no fix for. I have to drive around with the speakers crackling and popping until either Honda fixes it or I call a lawyer.

So far so good
I purchased this minivan about 10 months ago, and it's only about 5000 miles so far. I feel lucky that I don't have any software issues yet, I see so many people are upset about that. It drives very smoothly, and the interior is roomy. I used to own other Honda products such as a CRV and a Civic, and they were super fuel efficient. However, this Odyssey is a little different. This is might be the only thing I am unhappy about this car. Overall, I still like this Odyssey, it's a very solid pick for families with kids.

Minivan life and a happy wife
Update: Sep 2024 downgrading to 4 stars Sunroof broke without my own fault at 51k miles. Dealer charged $2k, had a super bad experience. Messed up the roof liner, got a rattle, dinged the paint, messed up the hood, took 2 weeks to fix. With this experience, I would avoid dealer at all cost Original Review:Bought the car new. Now has 44k trouble free miles. Changed tires, brakes and rotors at 40k. Averaging 21 mpg with back country roads. 28 mpg highway. Some reviews complain about AC not strong enough and I agree, the trick is to not drive in eco mode for the 1st 10 minutes or on a super hot day. The seats in this car are the most comfortable you'll find in any car. With 3 kids, I wouldn't go with an SUV. Favorite features: Remote start, sliding doors with button controls and all windows and sunroof opens when pressing and holding unlock button on key fob (super good for hot days). Suspension is very good and road noise is minimal. This car isn't short of a luxury vehicle date I say. My only complaint (for all minivans) is that interiors are really hard to clean with so many nooks and crannies. I often find myself using the sport mode and paddle shifters. The man is old but he is not cold.
