It's a LUXURY Car!

2011 Honda Odyssey Touring Elite 4dr Minivan (3.5L 6cyl 6A)

Many owners are parents who looked for a minivan and liked the Odyssey's features. Our kids are grown, no grandkids yet, and I'm a businessman. We wanted a luxury car that would seat up to 8 adult family members or haul bikes or kayaks inside it. We got it all. We relied on owner/reviewers in Edmunds who often mentioned "comfort," "quiet," "room," "ride" and "handling." We bought the Touring Elite, but any model from EX-L up is a luxury car. The truffle interior on ours is dark grey/brown that has a rich look but also will hide dirt and marks. Every detail has been thought out and designed to be practical. The amount of technology is incredible. Chose it over Sienna and Enclave.

2011 Odyssey Still Has Front Brake Rotor Issues

This is a Love - Hate Relationship... Love the Fuel Economy (31.9 mpg at 64 mph Hwy). Hate that Honda actually advertised the fact that they "re-engineered" the Front Brake Rotors, yet at 11,850 miles, the Dealer (Honda Autopark in Cary,NC) replaced them due to "WARPING". The very same issue I had with my 2007 Odyssey! The front windshield had excessive distortion along a 5-6" band of the sides, so this was also replaced. Several of the bolt together body parts, fenders, etc. do not line up well at all (assembly issues), but have not addressed that yet. If you start having any vibration coming from the front-end of your Odyssey, have the brake rotors checked before 12,000 mile warranty.

Do NOT buy a 2011-12 Honda Odyssey without getting an extended warranty!!( I'm a previous mechanic). This mini van has had off and on problems..Mainly the steering and suspension, along with the climate control. My wife drives it only to drop off the kids to school, and a short distance to work- Florida. We bought it from a dealer in 2013... (31,000 miles)soon after the van would squeak and make noises upon turning. The dealer replaced almost the entire suspension under warranty. About 6 months later at 42,500 miles..the steering developed too much play in the wheel..steering pump, and other parts were replaced. The dealer stated it was the tires...however the Michelins were only 6 months old. Then during the following year, the a/c electrical unit in the dashboard had to be replaced, along with the timing belt earlier than recommended , due to the area leaking oil. Finally last month, there was knocking while going over bumps. At this point, I did not trust the dealer anymore, so I took it to Aamco for service. They said to take it back to the dealer because the front end damage was extensive. So the dealer again replaced the struts, and other parts of the front end. Apparently, the dealer never did the 4 wheel alignment properly. The van now has 87,000 miles on it..will it's problems ever end?? While driving on the highway...there is still too much play in the front end...more like for a car that has 150k miles on it..but what can we do?

We have replaced my wife's BMW 325i with the 2011 Odyssey EX-L for a few weeks but so far we are loving it. Touring is nice but EX-L seems to offer the most for the buck. The interior quality is fine (not as great as Quest but far better than Sienna). The exterior is quite subjective. We got some compliments in the parking lot, mostly from younger couples. My folks think the styling is too aggressive. I think the lighting bolt design is just fine.

2011 Honda Odyssey Ex Falling apart

Now over 181,000 miles on the car, I think I'm qualified to call the Odyssey a piece of Junk! The ticking sound a lot of people hear when turning the car; those are no doubt, defective CV shaft and joints. You just won't find out until you put more miles on the car. I took the car in at 5,000 miles because of the ticking; the dealer "lubricated" the front strut mounts? Between 12,000 and 93,000 miles, I had six (6) front brake jobs, including 3 rotor replacements. Turns out that quite possibly, the Dealer mechanics were not re-installing the rotors to proper specs, and they would warp in no time! Ever since taking it to my independent shop; Zero problems (brakes). Many other Defects!
